Chapter 6 The Next morning Victoria awakes around 6 a.m. It is still dark outside and she is dressed in yoga pants, hoodie, and Nike’s. She slips her headphones in and begins to head downstairs very quickly to avoid being detected. She completely ignores that Tae Woong exits his room and begins following behind her, out of curiosity to her mysterious actions. By the time she approaches the front door she closes the door lightly and looks behind her. Yet she doesn’t notice him since he almost drops his cell, making him lag behind a bit. He quickly makes his way out and stands a few steps behind her. “I wonder what she is doing up so early?” She begins jogging a bit he then thinks to himself. “Why is she being so secretive about exercising?” “She should be proud about bettering her health, I wonder if I pass her will it startle her? Maybe I shouldn’t” He jogs at her pace and he hardly breaks a sweat. While Victoria seems to be struggling every lap she does. He finds himself cheering her on in his mind. “Come on Victoria one more lap, you can do it!” By her third lap she almost falls over some bushes close to her home. He begins to rush toward her to try and help her when he remembers. “I can’t help she can’t discover that I have been following her since she exited the house.” She quickly looks to see if anyone is around. Tae Woong reacts by jumping into the bushes in order to avoid being discovered. He emerges when she heads inside. He has brushes all over his clothes and hair. “Man that was close.” “Now that she headed back inside. I can head over to the park and begin my work out.” He enters the parks track and begins running a few laps. Meanwhile he runs a few flashes of Victoria’s work out appear in his mind. “How cute did she look sneaking out of the house just to exercise? Also her way of jogging is cute.” “I wonder if she would let me help her out and maybe become her trainer.” He then realizes his enthusiastic way of thinking toward her. He quickly comments as to reassure himself. “Since it is hard to keep up an exercise regimen when one begins.” He stops and begins to head back to the house. By the time he reaches the door it swings wide and Victoria stands before him with a blank stare and pale white. A yell from her Mother makes her react and she quickly runs out towards the park. “VICTORIA I WILL TEACH YOU TO STOP BEING SUCH A CLUMSY OAF!” Vivian yells as she approaches the door and only sees Tae Woong still standing there with a suppressed uncomfortable expression on his face. “Oh goodness Tae Woong, I am so sorry you had to witness such a scene.” She turns away to head upstairs but mumbles under her breath. “I thought everyone had gone out, wait till I get her alone.” Tae Woong listens to her mumble and heads to the park to seek for Victoria. He finds her sitting on a bench with her head down. As he approaches her she is commenting to herself and crying. “Why is she so cruel to me?” “Am I not her child as well, yet she always seems to have something against me?” “I just happened to knock down my glass of orange juice and she just went ballistic.” “It wasn’t like I spilled it on her.” “At times like these I just think it would have been better if I died in that accident I had as a baby.” Tae Woong hears her words and can’t help but to speak up. “How can you say such a thing?” She looks behind her a bit shocked. “Can you imagine how sad your brother and Blanca would be if you didn’t exist, even more so your Father.” He sits next to her and without any hesitation he begins to wipe her tears away. She notices his sincere and warm gaze. “To be honest I would be sad also.” He finally notices his forwardness and shyly stops caressing her face. They both turn rosy pink and begin to avoid eye contact. Tae Woong’s phone begins to ring. “It’s your father.” She motions him to answer. “Yes Sir. I am sorry but I am still at home.” He stands and walks away from the bench. “I was actually going to ask if I could absent myself from the office today.” “Victoria is feeling a bit D….ow..” Victoria quickly snatches the phone from his hand, taking him by surprise. “Hi Daddy, what Tae Woong was going to say is that I decided to show him around New York today; is that alright with you?” “Of course sweetheart, I leave him in your hands you two have fun.” She hangs up and looks back toward him and he is confused by her actions. “I really don’t like to complain to my father about what my mother does, they fight enough already.” She approaches him and grabs on to his arm. “Now let’s go back so we can change and explore a little of New York.” “Alright.” He says hesitant and shocked by her forwardness. As they walk home he listens to her chatter on about the plans she has made in her mind for their excursion. As they approach the house she stops and looks around the entrance for any signs of her mother. Which makes him chuckle a bit. “I am pretty sure she has left for work by now.” She notices his smile and she begins to blush. “I know that.” She quickly rushes in and mumbles under her breath. “Just making sure.” As she rushes upstairs and he follows quickly behind her until she stops abruptly in front of her room door. He is coming behind her to quickly that he bumps into her and completely freezes and becomes a bit hesitant. She feels him exhale behind her and she is also clueless as to how react. She tries to turn around but he grabs ahold of her arms and keeps her from turning around. “I am sorry for running into you like this but if you turn around now I will be too embarrassed to face you, so let’s just go into our rooms and we can meet back here after getting ready for our outing.” Victoria stands there and can only nod a yes. He walks away from behind her and makes his way to his room rather quickly. Yet Victoria stands there still frozen and with every inch of her in goosebumps by his forceful touch and considerate words. She is then startled by Blanca’s footsteps heading up the stairs and she rushes into her room. “Oh My God. His voice is so comforting and his touch…” She squeals and heads over to her closet to choose an outfit adequate for their outing. Just a few steps away Tae Woong is about to jump into the shower when a flash of him standing behind her and taking a moment to smell her sweet aroma. “She smells of roses and honey dew, I wonder if it is her natural fragrance or a lotion.” He stares out a bit spaced with a wide smile on his face he then thinks. “Why did I get an intense feeling to turn her around and kiss her rosy lips?” He shakes his head and says out loud to himself. “Now Tae Woong you must stop those int
