“Are you sure about this?” Wonsik asked once again, hands ready to pull Sanghyuk’s bags out of his car should the younger suddenly change his mind.

“I’m sure,” Sanghyuk nodded, “why? Do you not want me to go with you or something?”

“I want you along,” Wonsik smiled sadly, “more than anything, I want to leave this place with you.”

“So then why keep asking?” Sanghyuk huffed, making his way to the passenger side.

“I don’t want you to regret anything,” Wonsik explained, following his best friend/crush and catching him in a tight hug before he could get into the elder’s car, “I’m never coming back, Sanghyukkie. If you come with me, that mean you’re never coming back either.”

“I’m fine with that,” Sanghyuk shrugged, “got nothing to come back to anyway.”

“Sanghyuk,” Wonsik sighed before heading over to the driver’s side door and getting in, “I just hope you’re sure.”

Wonsik didn’t mention that Taekwoon would take the younger back in a heartbeat, apologizing over and over for all the horrible things he had said. He didn’t have to mention that because Sanghyuk already knew.

“I saw Taekwoon,” Sanghyuk suddenly said, startling Wonsik, “and he begged me to come home. I just…….didn’t want to.”

“Why not?” Wonsik questioned, wondering just why the hell Sanghyuk would reject Taekwoon.

Much as he hated to admit it, Taekwoon was perfect. He had the wonderful family, the great job, and big house. He was the whole package. He could give Sanghyuk the life he’d been unable to have when he was a kid growing up in their old neighbourhood. Plus, he loved Sanghyuk completely. The only thing Wonsik could match was the whole ‘loving Sanghyuk completely’ part. He should as hell couldn’t give Sanghyuk all the things he deserved.

Taekwoon could though.

“I realized something,” Sanghyuk smiled slightly, eyes locked out the world outside the car, “when we fought. I realized that he didn’t love Taekwoon. Well, not in the way he wants, not in the way I should love him if I was gonna be with him forever.”

“Oh,” Wonsik nodded, putting the car into drive.

“Yeah,” Sanghyuk glanced over at Wonsik, his smile turning soft.

He hadn’t told Wonsik exactly what he and Taekwoon had fought over. Wonsik thought it was just over Taekwoon not liking how Sanghyuk still hung out with people from his old neighbourhood. That was a part of it, Taekwoon did want Sanghyuk to stay away from those ‘gang members’ he called friends. But mostly the fight had been about something else.

His friendship with Wonsik.

Taekwoon wanted Sanghyuk to end it. He didn’t want someone like Wonsik, someone with a criminal past and a crush on Sanghyuk, anywhere near the perfect human being that was Sanghyuk. Sanghyuk, naturally, was not about to give up his best friend. As the fight had gone on, Taekwoon accused Sanghyuk of being in love with Wonsik. He’d brought up how the pair used to and accused Sanghyuk of still going to Wonsik for a every now and then.

That cheating accusation had hurt Sanghyuk beyond words, so he’d left. He’d run all the way to his buddy Hakyeon since he knew he could trust the older to just listen and give comfort. He knew Wonsik would have beaten Taekwoon up for that cheating comment. Sanghyuk’s mother had cheated on his father, she’d been the biggest in their run down little part of town. Being called a cheater himself……..it hurt Sanghyuk too much to describe.

Sanghyuk had stayed at Hakyeon’s for a while before catching wind of Wonsik’s little escape plan and deciding to join. Those days at Hakyeon had given him time to think. Think about his life, his dreams, and his relationships. Specifically the ones with Taekwoon and Wonsik.

He’d realized quickly that the love he’d once felt for Taekwoon had faded. As for what he felt for Wonsik…….

Sanghyuk glanced over at Wonsik once more and smiled to himself.

He didn’t know what exactly he felt for Wonsik, but he wanted to find out. He figured he’d have plenty of time to figure it all out on the road.

A/N: omg was this fun to write or what??? I saw this theme and just knew I had to do this kind of story. Well, the whole ‘Hyuk used to be with Leo’ part was total adlib as I was writing (the original plan was have Ravi and Hyuk already together) but I like it so *shrug*
