Hyerin increased her speed as she brisk walked down the grimed sidewalk. “I’m coming, okay!” She said her goodbyes and slipped her phone back into her pocket. Jimin has been nagging her to hurry up and go to their dance studio to watch him practice along with his friends and once she was done with school. She immediately took the cab and stopped for a drink at the café and is now currently tapping her rubber shoe onto the marble floor as she stood there waiting for the elevator to open. Ding.
She stepped in and pressed onto number three and patiently waited for the metal doors to close when suddenly a hand wedged in between followed by a soft groan and a tall figure stepped in and stood next to her. “S—Sorry,” He mumbled and reached to press on the button but quickly pulled back when he realized that number three has been already pressed. “No, it’s fine.” She smiled and shyly waved her hand a little. “I see we’re both heading for the third floor.” He smiled at her. Hyerin looked at him and to the set of buttons in front of her. “I guess so,” She nodded her head and looked up to see that they were in the second floor.
Once the elevator doors opened the boy dashed out and started running down the hallway. Weird. She thought. What was the room number again? Oh right, 309. Hyerin took one last look at herself in the elevator mirror, making sure to fix her hair and straighten her shirt and stepped out of the elevator. She walked down the hallway searching for the right room.
“Three zero four, three zero three, three zero two, wait, wrong direction.” She turned around and strutted down to the opposite direction. “Three zero six, three zero eight, finally!” She stood in front of the frosted glass door and let out a sigh. She could hear the thumping music coming from inside accompanied by a screaming and quick footsteps.
“Okay,” She mumbled and reached for the doorknob. “I’m ready,” She added. She pushed the doorknob down and shifted her weight onto her front leg, pushing the door open. “Cut the music!” One of them said. “Hey! Come back here!” Another yelled while running after, wait, the same boy that she rode the elevator with. “Sorry!” He yelled when he accidentally bumped his shoulder on her back and continued running.
“Hyerin!” Jimin cheered as he held his arms out and walked towards her. “Jiminnie!” She smiled and wrapped her arms around his figure. “You’re finally here!” He jumped in circles with her. “I think you’re strangling her.” One of his friends laughed as he approached them.
“Hyung! This is Hyerin my sister.” Jimin exaggeratedly bowed his head and reached his hands toward her and wiggled his fingers. “Yah, stop it!” She chuckled and pushed him away. The rest of his friends started crowding around the siblings with friendly smiles on their faces. “Hi,” Hyerin bowed politely and waved. “I—I’m Park Hyerin,”
They stretched out their arms to her all at the same time and chuckled. “O—Oh, I—I um, hi,” She bowed her head and shook one of the many hands that were in front of her. “Hey, Jimin’s sister, Hyerin.” He smiled and shook her hand firmly. “I’m Jungkook. Nice to meet you,” He let go of Hyerin’s hand and ran off. “O—Okay,” She laughed and turned to the next boy. “I’m Namjoon, the leader but not the oldest.” He gave her a thumbs-up and flashed a full smile.
“This is Jin and Yoongi,” He wiggled his eyebrows at her causing a giggle to escape . The two other boys started running around the room once again. “Those two brats are Hoseok and Taehyung,” Yoongi chuckled and joined Jungkook who was practicing their choreography in the center of the room. “Make yourself comfortable,” Jin smiled and took the bag from Hyerin.
“How come you just invited your sister to our practice now? I mean, like, why didn’t you invite her since before?” Namjoon turned to Jimin as he pressed the play button on the player. “She’s really busy,” Jimin shrugged and stood in his place for their dance.
“Hyerin! Sit over there and tell us what you think of the dance.” Taehyung pointed at the couch where her bag sat. She nodded eagerly and settled onto the soft couch. The boys stood still and the whole room was suddenly silent until the music started blaring out of the humungous speakers on two of the corners in the room.
She watched as her older brother cheerily spr
