A Garota De Ipanema.
Description
Tall, and tan, and young, and lovely, the girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, I smile, but she doesn't see
She just doesn't see, she never sees me...
In which the girl from Ipanema knows his heart and has secrets of her own.
In which the one who doesn't see was the man who wrote the lyrics.
In which everyone silently pleaded for it to end well.
In which there exists a thing called second chances.
In which things have a weird way of working things out.
In which the love has a sick sense of humor.
Moça do corpo dourado,
Do sol de Ipanema,
O seu balançado
É mais que um poema
É a coisa mais linda
Que eu já vi passar
Foreword
Oh, but he sees her so sadly -
How can he tell her he loves her?
Yes, he would give his heart gladly,
But each day when she walks to the sea,
She looks straight ahead and not at he
Seunghyun stood there, frozen. Like a dog chasing a car, he didn’t know what to do once he caught it. Now that he’s there, not much further apart from the pianist, he could only stand there as she plays with all of her emotions poured like an artist with a canvas. The piano was her canvas and she skillfully pressed the keys and played a melody that was so beautiful everyone and everything seemed to stop. This was music, and everyone around him seems to agree. Seunghyun stared for the longest time, he was too awestruck that he didn't even notice that the piano had long stopped playing and the bossa nova music came back to play,
And she was staring right at him.
Choi Seunghyun had never faltered at the sight of anyone, years of being the seemingly aloof rapper that the world has come to love and the fact that everyone seems to be afraid of him was practice enough. He never felt the nervousness that comes with nausea when having to face someone that was superior or a lady that he was keen to get attention of. He never felt those, at the least, not anymore. Women threw themselves at him, men bowed to him and all he ever did was stand.
But when she looked at him, her dark hazel eyes met his pitch black ones, Seunghyun was rendered conscious of the fact that his hands was sweating and his knees were going weak. His ability to talk failed him and everything seemed to be going numb. Though at the very same time, her eyes screamed of home and there was like an orchestra playing and angels singing when their eyes lock. Looking at her was like trying to remember anything that was forgotten, everytime he came close to something, it escapes him. There was something in her eyes that was like a missing puzzle piece to an unknown puzzle, a fragment of something that used to be dear but he couldn’t remember what.
Then she walked passed him like he was never even there to begin with.
For the first time, he felt invisible.
She left and went to a door behind the counter, leaving Seunghyun with regret to why he didn’t say anything. The beauty of the music and her whole being sank in to mind when they’re already both gone from him, like everything else is.
And then another day came and she played another tune, and finished just as she’s supposed to. Because nothing is eternal, and sometimes things just have to stop. She stood up from her seat and proceeded to walk to the counter, disappearing behind the mahogany door, just like the other days he would come here.
And he was still left to be standing there alone, without her noticing him at all.
Ah, se ela soubesse
Que quando ela passa,
O mundo sorrindo
Se enche de graça
E fica mais lindo
Por causa do amor.
