After a couple of hours, Luhan finally felt the girl stir in his arms. It amazed him how still she could sit at one place without moving for so long. And it wasn't like she was unconscious or anything like that.
I gave a sigh and turned off the laptop, waiting for the screen to shutoff as I looked through the missed texts I got from Sehun.
Sehun: Aera
I know you're busy doing your paper,
but don't forget to eat
and don't overwork yourself
A small smile tugged on the corners of my lips unknowingly as I read Sehun's message. Sehun was always the simple type of guy. And never quite expressed himself the way normal guys did. The Sehun I came to know was always straightforward, reasonable and understanding. Never gave a thought to the things he found trivial.
Which was why I felt so guilty with keeping the truth about Luhan and distancing myself away from him.
Aera: Thanks hunhun. You too, don't get too caught up in work !
I sighed one last time before putting my phone back on the desk. Not waiting to wake up the sleeping Luhan that was still on my back, I attempted to peak behind me slowly.
When I had turned around, I expected to see Luhan sleeping with his face pressed against my shoulders. Or something along those lines. But what met my vision was Luhan's eyes directly on my own. Not faltering even a little.
We looked into each other's eyes silently with no words exchanged in between. Not blinking and not looking away. His stare this time was different from all the other times he had looked into my eyes. Which was why I found it so intimidating; so much to the point that I was afraid to be the one that looked away first. It was as if his eyes pierced into my soul and found every one of my deepest secrets, leaving me utterly and exposed.
"Was that Sehun?" Breaking the silence, he finally spoke with soft breaths hitting the side of my neck.
I could feel his arms tightening around my waist, pulling me even closer towards his chest. I frowned at the uncomfortable tightness around my waist and was about to complain but stopped when I looked back into his eyes. His eyes showed none of his usual playfulness or bashfulness. His gaze on mine was serious, and it seemed as if he was really looking for an answer to his question.
"Um," I coughed awkwardly, trying to lighten up the atmosphere. "How'd you know?"
I was so preoccupied with the fact that Luhan's face was less than five inches with mine that I almost dismissed the fact that he knew what a phone was, let alone texting.
"Wait, Luhan," you frowned. "How'd you know what a phone was?"
The off-topic question seemed to have caught Luhan by surprise seeing as how he blinked a couple times. The stern look on Luhan's face from before went away as fast as it came as he pondered about this fact himself.
"Maybe it was from one of those dramas that I've been watching."
I nodded to his words as I took the chance to get out of his arms, seeing as he was a little distracted. "So, anyway! Let's eat!"
Despite how much Luhan enjoyed eating and all, this time, something was in his mind. He was confused. Although he wasn't completely certain, but he was sure the information about what a phone was didn't come from one of those dramas. He didn't know why he thought this. But somehow, he just knew it.
Today could possibly be the day of my death. It was one of those days that I dread the mos
