Angel Down
Guardian AngelThe emptiness of the room pressed against my head, speeding up the pace of my sobs. I could already feel the pounding of a headache and I sat down on our bed staring at the raindrops that were starting to dash aginst the windowpane, reminding me of the red droplets of blood that had been spattered over the cobblestone street.
Tears blurring my vision, I stared down at my violently shaking hands I had unknowingly been drywashing in my lap. The silver glint of our couple ring caught my eye and I let my torso fall back onto the soft bed, my chest heaving as I fought for the air my strangled wails were stealing from my lungs.
When my true helplessness dawned on me all I could do was curl up into a ball and try not to breathe in the scent that was woven into the blankets underneath me. Tried not to breathe in our scent.
Closing my eyes didn't help. All it did was bring back flashbacks of the previous night. Sharp flashes of silver knives. Loud bangs of gunshots missing their target. Even louder bangs of gunshots striking home. The stark contrast of the red blood against the pale gray stones. And the last cry, begging me to flee.
A./N.: Sorry about the cliffhanger and shortness and waiting time... I had writer's block and...yeah
