Chapter Thirteen

  "So now what?"

ask Kris while walking with his dog and Lay at the beach

"Nothing." said Lay " We like each other but we want different things from life."

"So will you leave her?" ask Kris

"Do I have a choice?" ask Lay

"Of course you have a choice. You can be with her forever." replied Kris

"But where the hell was I going, Kris?!" said Lay frustrated "I was with her, it's not like I was running away. And if we'd stayed happy, I would have stayed with her. So where the hell did this forever nonsense crop up from?" said Lay and start walking again

"So you'll never marry?" ask Kris

"Maybe."

"And you don't want kids either?" ask Kris again

"Definitely not." replied Lay firmly

"Why?" ask Kris confused

"Why what? Marriage or kids?" ask Lay stopped walking

Lay sighed "Kris, why do we stay with someone? Because we want to be happy, right? But what if we don't find happiness. Will we let a piece of paper tell us now live in misery, you are trapped. You and two witnesses have signed off on a document with forever written on it. And now, you have to live unhappily ever after!"
