Chapter Four:“Say Goodbye”

            Two weeks after the accident, a local news group were covering a passing ceremony for Victoria. Familiar faces filled the rows of seats. CL, Bom, and Jia sat petrified, frozen in fear.

            Victoria’s sobbing mother stepped to the podium. Wiping tears from her face as she spoke. “Victoria was the sweetest angel, and that goes without saying, I love her. I wrote this for her:”

“Victoria, I miss you

You should have told me that

you were blue.

My only daughter, you

Were my light.

Why did you take your own life?

A friend of many, and

To many a foe.

But Victoria darling,

I know want you to know.

From an abandoned life,

sprouts a new.

Oh Victoria baby,

I love you”

She recited the poem, tears streaming, and voice cracking. An older man Bom, and CL assumed to be her father, or grandfather approached the microphone, wrapping his arm around the sobbing woman. “Goodbye Victoria, We all miss you.”
