      The drive to the place Rubi once lived was more silent than death himself. It was everyone except for Ji Yong. During the drive, Rubi’s face had become pale and her palms sweaty. On the way, they noticed what seemed to be a house fire in the general direction that they were heading.

            “Stop the car!” Rubi shouted. Daesung pulled over and stopped the car. Rubi didn’t say a word but only stared when she stepped out of the car. They weren’t far from the place she once called home.

            Flames now the house. Wooden beams screamed as they were being eaten alive by the lustful tongue of fire. Rubi stared in awe at the amazing sight. Everything she owned was gone. She threw back her head and let out a low, agonizing groan.

            “Rubi, what’s wrong?” Daesung asked worriedly. Rubi threw her hand at the sight before her and stomped her foot.

            “Mother er burned the ing house!” She snapped. She clutched her hand into a fist. She took a deep breath and ran a hand through her short hair. She rubbed her forehead, taking slow, deep breaths. “Well, I guess we should go back, there’s nothing for us here.”

            “Then we’ll at least take you to get some clothes,” Daesung offered. Rubi glared at him. He chuckled. “I never said I’d be paying, so stop glaring at me.”

            “Then who is?” she spat sarcastically.

            “Ji Yong is.” Daesung flashed a shiny gold colored card in the light. A mischievous smirk found its way to Rubi’s pale pink lips.

            “That, I can live with.” Daesung placed a hand on Rubi’s shoulder and led her back to the car. “Guess what guys, we’re now going shopping!” Rubi cheered, she wasn’t a fan of it too often but she couldn’t deny an opportunity like this when it presents itself.

            SeungHyun groaned, “Do we have to?”

            “Don’t worry, she’s not as bad as Ji Yong hyung.”

            “Are you sure? She is a girl after all,” Seungri teased.

            “That means nothing!” Rubi snapped jokingly. Youngbae chuckled at the bickering pair. At least it was livelier than the original drive.

            “How old are you?”

            Rubi glanced at SeungHyun in surprise then shrugged, believing that there was no harm. “I’m the same age as Dae.” Suddenly, the car slowed to a halt. Rubi glanced out the window once more, eyeing the clothes in the nearby shops.

            “How long will you be?” Daesung asked flatly, handing her the card and a slip of paper.

            “Not too long. Maybe twenty minutes tops. What’s the limit?”

            “It’s on the paper.”

            “Cool.” Rubi grinned. “Meet you at the small café on the corner here.” Daesung nodded. Rubi climbed out of the car and strolled across the street to one of the many clothing stores she’d eyed on the way.

            Rubi stepped into the café. It was rather large, considering that they never seem to be busy. Various posters decorated the small wall space that existed, since the whole front wall was actually a window. Many of the posters were of the group SHINee but there were others too, some of them foreign, such as: Block B, Super Junior, Big Bang, The GazettE, Miyavi, Linkin Park, Disturbed, etc. The familiar sound of the song “Hello” rang through the air.

            A sharp face poked its head from behind the doorway. Kind eyes were the color of oak wood. . Her hair had black ends but faded into a silver white color as it got closer to the roots. Her spiky bangs were layered and covered a majority of the right side of her face. Her dancing hair trailed down to the middle of her back. She was rather built for a female but she still kept a feminine aura about her.

            Rubi set her bags at a table that would be large enough for the guys when they arrived. Rubi did random little parts of the dance that she knew. Keeping one hand behind her back, she gave a single, circular wave with the other before returning it behind her back. She smiled to herself as she did little parts of the dance every now and again.

            “You know the song?” the cashier woman asked. Rubi let out a light laugh of embarrassment, seeing as she got caught.

            “Yeah, a little bit.”

            “It’s funny, I knew that these guys would be great but I never thought about how far they could actually go,” the woman admitted.

            “What do you mean?” Rubi asked, slightly confused.

            A smile graced the woman’s lips, “I knew SHINee before they were SHINee, when they would perform as a group in talent shows and competitions at school. Damn, I miss those boys.”

 A bell rang as a familiar set of four men walked through the door. Rubi grinned at them but, no one seemed to notice her. The cashier bowed, welcoming them to the shop.

            “It’s been a long time, you guys,” the cashier stated. Seungri and Daesung looked a little confused. Youngbae gave one of his famous smiles while SeungHyun simply smirked. “So where’s your leader? He hasn’t been around either.”

            Youngbae shrugged while SeungHyun’s smirk kept getting larger. The cashier glared at Daesung and Seungri, who held his hands up in defense.

            “What did I do?”

            “I told you not to forget, didn’t I? At least some people remember me since ‘I thought VIP’s weren’t allowed up here’. You shouldn’t break promises like that Ri.” That was it. SeungHyun broke into laughter. He clutched his stomach and was bowed in his laughing fit. The makane’s face was in utter shock. He was stunned by the woman who had dangerous yet kind eyes that were owned by a person who acted like she knew him, even quoting something from over nine months ago.

            It was Rubi’s turn to double over in laughter at Seungri’s expression. Youngbae continued small talk with the cashier while Seungri lunged at the honey haired girl, wrapping his arms around her. SeungHyun tried to gain control of his breathing once again.

            “Noona,” he cried, tightening his grip, “the pretty lady over there is being mean to me!”

            “Pabo, maybe you shouldn’t have forgotten her,” Rubi teased. Suddenly a new song began to play.

            Rubi’s ears perked up to the sound of the song, one she knew all too well. She could hear Youngbae singing along to it.

Before this long night ends

            Then, he paused and waited silently as Seungri too, began singing softly.

I’ve been waiting for that

I’m feeling it dozens of times

I can’t pass all these sort of thing

                                Rubi couldn’t help but get into the familiar song. However, Daesung stole her queue when the vocalist changed.

Unlike the other guys, I know what you want

            Rubi growled in frustration when Youngbae sang again, more relaxed this time, seeing as everyone else was singing too.

                Rubi sighed, defeated. She let the boys sing while she watched. Though, it caught her attention when SeungHyun sang a few lines, since he’d been relatively silent since Youngbae began the song. I can’t get my mind past last night

            It was Youngbae’s turn, again. He sure seemed to have a lot of lines in the song but Rubi was ready to begin a part when she had her chance.

            Once again the vocalist changed but this time, the boys seemed at a loss. So, Rubi decided to fill in the blank spot.

            The boys stared for a long while, amazed, but they looked like they were in shock. Rubi blushed the color of the stone she was named after. The rest of the song was blocked out from her heart beating like a drum in her ears.

            “Did I do something wrong?” She asked worriedly as they walked back to the car, everyone holding a bag or so of clothes.

            “You’re amazing!” Seungri shouted, spinning her around after picking her up. She couldn’t help but smile.

            “You know, you’re totally showing Ji Yong when we get home,” SeungHyun stated. Youngbae nodded in agreement. Rubi’s face was shot with alarm.

            “He’s done nothing nice to me!” Rubi argued.

            “If he hadn’t done anything nice for you, then how would I get his card?” Daesung asked. Rubi opened , pointing a finger, but quickly closed it and dropped her hand.

            “Fine, we can show him. One main condition, the song can’t be entirely in another language.  So, songs like ‘Follow Me’ and ‘How Gee’ are a big fat no.”

            SeungHyun smirked, “Deal then.”

            “Oh, one more thing, if the other members are in it, then they have to sing their parts.” Youngbae furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. “Well, I usually do G-Dragon covers. The only other song I can do comfortably is ‘Strong Baby’. Otherwise I’m completely fidgety if it’s not Big Bang,” Rubi explained.

            “But what other members?” Youngbae asked.

            “Like earlier, you sang Taeyang’s part, Seungri sang for V.I., Daesung for D-lite, and SeungHyun for T.O.P.” Youngbae nodded understanding what she meant.

            When they pulled up to the unusually large apartment they called home, the guys quickly set the clothes in Rubi’s room. Then, they dragged Ji Yong onto a seat in the living room. He glared at them but they were too busy setting up to care.

            “What the hell is going on?” Ji Yong snapped. Rubi noticed from her safe spot across the room. She sighed and tried to calmly walk towards him, mostly because she was nervous as hell. He scared her with his constant yelling.

            “They said that they had a surprise for you,” Rubi explained. He had a stone hard look on his face until he noticed how soft her voice was. His expression softened in worry for a brief moment before locking back up when Seungri tapped her shoulder telling her that everything was ready.

Oh, speaking of which, I finally figured out a plot so, I may start posting the sequel soon. I think that it might be able to stand alone but it's always best to read the first one first for a better understanding. For all you Shawols out there you can check that out too. :D
