“Han Mirae-sshi? Mirae-sshi?” a soft female voice called out. The patient was still in her deep sleep and didn’t budge even when the nurse tried to wake her up. She turned towards the detectives with an apologetic expression plastered on her face

“I’m sorry but I don’t think the anesthesia has worn off yet. It could take at least 5 more hours until she will regain consciousness,” the nurse informed

The cold prince-like detective grumbled in annoyance and stood next to the patient and roughly shook her

“Mirae-sshi? Mirae-sshi? I need you to wake up, Mirae-sshi,”

The nurse shifted uncomfortably seeing him treat the patient so harshly and left the room to get the doctor so he could explain to this team of detectives of Mirae’s condition

“Jaejoong,” the leader of the five growled towards the impatient man and he immediately stopped, sighed in defeat and sat back down

Another gentler and calmer looking detective observed Mirae from the door and walked over to her bed side. He continued to stare at her as he could feel her awakening coming.  

“What are you doing?” the dolphin voiced detective asked and the youngest of them all snorted at his hyung

“He’s waiting for her to wake up,” he pointed out and the older smacked him across the head for thinking so lowly of the elder

“W.Where am I?” an angelic voice whispered amongst the talking group of men. They immediately stopped their conversations and turned towards her within a second. They crowded over her side but was asked to move so that the doctor could examine her.

“Mirae-sshi? You’re in the hospital right now, can you hear me?” the doctor asked

 “Y.yeah,” she calmly answered as she tried to sit up but winced as she felt pain spread throughout her body so she gave up on trying to sit up

“Why am I here? What happened?” she asked as she looked directly at the doctor’s face wanting some answers

“Mirae-yah, Mirae-yah!” a couple yelled ecstatically as the woman embraced the young one with a hug and she tried to hold in her screams from the tight squeeze

“Ajumma,” she called warmly and slowly pried the woman’s arms off of her

“Thank goodness you’re awake. Are you okay?” the man suddenly spoke and she turned towards him with the same smile

“I’m fine, but ajussi where’s Kara? She would be the first one here,” she asked with such an expecting smile, but the others stared at her with a frown while the best friend’s mother walked out of the room wailing, remembering the situation they were all in

“A.Ajussi, is it something I said? Did something happen to Kara?” she asked worriedly as she successfully got up and faced the older man, holding a pole as support

The old man sighed as he felt tears threatening to fall. The patient gasped inwardly seeing his reaction

“Something DID happen to Kara,” she stated. She suddenly felt a strong grip on her arms, making her face an angry looking gentleman

“Don’t act stupid Han MiRae. Do you not remember what happened? YOU’RE the one that caused all this to happen,”

Hearing this stranger accuse her for something she didn’t know she caused, started to scare her and slowly anger her

“KIM JAEJOONG!” the leader yelled once again and pushed him aside. He turned towards the girl to find her sitting on the floor, with her legs spread next to her like a mermaid, her hands trembling and her eyes not in focus as she’s trying to decipher what the man just said

Yunho knelt down and held the girl’s hand

“I’m sorry for what he said. He has a temper,” he apologized on behalf of his team member

“W.What’s going on? Did s.something happen? Can you please tell me?” she asked and as she continued talking, the more she felt like someone was wringing her neck as tears were already strolling viciously down her cheeks

He sighed, not knowing how to tell the young girl her horrifying situation. He helped her get up and set her on her bed

“Is she in the condition to go to our department?” he asked, turning towards the doctor

“Physically she is still weak and need to be watched over and that seems to say the same for her mental health,” the experienced doctor informed

“I am aware; however, we don’t have much time. They’ve been missing for 72 hours now. She’s our only hope,” the detective pleaded while the patient looked between the doctor and the detective like a lost lamb.

‘Missing? 72 hours?’ she repeated in her head, trying to piece everything together but nothing came to mind
