Something swam into Kyuhyun’s mind as he sat in his chair, he wasn’t drinking nor was he planning to. He found it peculiar for him that he wasn’t drinking, he found it very peculiar. The fact that he’s sitting like a mannequin at that moment was because he was wondering if what he had saw was real, if it was truly Donghae that he witnessed but deep inside his mind and heart didn’t seem to flood him with words that it wasn’t real because he knows inside himself it was really him

Like he had not felt the adrenaline, the anticipation and the intoxicating feeling of finally being with Hae, because he knows deep inside, he was determined to sought things out

“What’s wrong?” a voice suddenly stated

He darted his gaze upon the man standing in front of him “It’s not like you to not drink even until now” the man chuckled at what he was seeing

“Don’t you have any ing thing else to do than to pester me?” he sighed at the person who stood in front of him

“Is that anyway to treat your hyung?” the man playfully asked

“There’s no need for me to call you that because you and I know better that there’s no connection between the both of us, so speaking informally would be a mockery for me” he bluntly said

“Still remember that I’m older than you… and that our families are both close as whole… don’t be rude” he guy retorted, “Cut to the chase, what’s the real reason for you to come here” he didn’t liked the chit chat that they’re having

“Have you really given up on Donghae? Are you truly that kind of a person to let him suffer and then leave him alone once your done getting your in him for so long?” damn Kyu was more than pissed, “You’re worthless in all aspects, how could I even let you have this kind of relationship with my brother” Kyu did his best to get himself to calm down but still, he really resented the man

“Everything’s done between the both of us and he’s the one who dictated everything to happen, it’s his choice, his own intentions to~” the man cleared his throat interrupting him, “You know in yourself it’s all your fault why everything crumbled down like a sand castle, you of all people should be quite aware of it” he gave a knowing grin to him but yet a grit of remorse could be seen behind those lips

“Stop this… this is preposterous, we both know how much you don’t like Donghae, why bother with this conversation” he couldn’t stand it any longer “Hating my brother… yes, only the three of us knows it… but still, you’ve yet to know the main reason I despised him” his face shifted to a rather threatening look, it made Kyu’s hair rise to the feeling “Since everything had already led to this, I wouldn’t mind telling the truth… the reason why I hate Donghae so much is… because of you”

Kyu didn’t expect anything like this, but now that he thinks about it, the man only began to act ill towards Hae when he confessed. Ever since before they started their real relationship, this guy that Hae adored and envied was the closest amongst all others. It could possibly be like that but, “Stop screwing, you hated him so much without a reason and~” the man stood from his seat, “Hate him without reason? Are you mad? Hating, despising or resenting my own dear and beloved brother without reason? STOP MAKING ME LAUGH BECAUSE I’M NOT LAUGHING!” he yelled with pure anger

“I’ve been damn pissed ever since you’ve started being the man of Hae’s life… I hated seeing him happy with you, I practically gagged when I see you all sweet and I most certainly felt like dying that I’ve heard you’ll be living in the same house” Kyu witnessed a side of him in which he had never seen before, the man’s fist were clenched tightly and his teeth were gritting because of self-control by the least

“You damn took my brother away from me… you pulled him away from my side, you took away our bond you good for nothing !” Kyu felt the sharp glare and his heart slowly beat at the cold voice he spoke out “You took away someone that I’ve cherished for so long in a glimpse, I really want you to suffer you damn bastard” he was breathing heavily, “How does it feel right now?” he suddenly asked

Kyu was still frozen and couldn’t compose himself, “I know you made a meeting with the president of the Lau Corp, you’re jealous that my brother found someone in replacement to that dumb love you defended before when I wanted the both of you separated? Do you found it amusing that he can easily move on without you? Does it satisfy you that he’ll be carrying that past you’ve had~” Kyu interrupted

“NO! I’m damn pissed, no more than that, I want to tear the man he’s with right now. I want to rip him to shreds and drag Hae away… I want to get him; I want to have him back beside me. I want him to fill this damn void that had been dwelling inside my frozen heart for so long that he’d left me. I want his love back” he sounded pitiful at the end; he was shivering and sweating coldly. At portion of his heart was feeling so much resentment but it was nothing to compare with the loneliness he’d gone through

“Pft… you’re pathetic, you’re worthless… you’re insolent, you’re obnoxious, and you’re everything that I’ve always hated… you’re everything that made me despise my brother. You should suffer more than this, because you know what? He’ll never come back to you, he’ll be happy with Henry; he’ll feel more alive and well having someone who really has faith in him. You’ll never see him standing by your side” it was a painful term to accept, he knows that it’s quite natural that Hae would think the same way

“Seeing you crumple like this was the best thing to watch, but, I don’t think I’ll be here again to see you cry out it anguish, let alone your own mistake’s rebound. It was nice seeing you again, have a wonderful evening” he sarcastically said and giggled before opening the door and took one last glance at the fallen Kyu, he smirked and left

After hearing the door close, Kyu fell into his knees, weakened and beaten by the so called pain and remorse. He couldn’t deny that fact, Hae’s brother was right, he wouldn’t think of going back with him. “I hate you… I hate you for this Eunhyuk!” he yelled in frustration

He couldn’t get rid of what Hyuk told him, he couldn’t comprehend the truth behind their conversation and he couldn’t accept the fact that Hyuk only became bitter with Hae ever since they became more than just friends. It never crossed his mind that something like that would be the source of his remorse, he couldn’t understand since Hyuk truly adored Hae but never did occurred in his mind that taking Hae’s attention meant provoking Hyuk’s wrath

He was sulking once again, with a glass of whisky to drown it down. He really hated his way of washing out his frustrations, it was also the reason Hae became pissed off with him. He felt a bit tranquil looking down on glass as the ice cubes melt and fall from its stack. His mind was drifting, he lost focus but there’s one certain thought that he’d never lose track of, it was Donghae

“He’ll never come back to you, he’ll be happy with Henry; he’ll feel more alive and well having someone who really has faith in him. You’ll never see him standing by your side” hearing once again those words, “I don’t know the answer to what will happen once we meet but, I’m sure… I’ll see the real answer within those eyes of his” he willed himself to have faith, he desperately needed something to hold on and that’s trust over what they’ve had

Days had passed and it was that Sunday, the day that he’ll be meeting with both Henry and Donghae in person. Just like before the meeting, his heart raced and his pulse rising. Anxiousness became an enemy for him; he didn’t know how to handle himself but, to make sure that everything would at least go for his favour. It was around 11:30 near noon when he started to drive his way to the meeting place, he didn’t contacted his assistant so more likely no one knew where he’ll be and he turned his phone off to make sure no interruption would take place

He didn’t want their meet to be disturbed; all focus should only be with Donghae. Yeah, Donghae, he alone and no one else, he thought to himself. It was about a couple of minutes before lunch time and he had arrived, he gulped as he got out of the car. One of the staff approached him and asked for the keys for him to park the car, it wasn’t just a plain steak house; it was one of the classiest. He gave his keys and got inside

He was greeted by the receptionist, “Mr Cho Kyuhyun, I presume sir?” she kindly said with a warm and tentative smile “Yes, is President Lau already here?” fixed his tie and his coat, “Yes, sir, Ms Im could you please direct Sir Cho to the table?” a woman stepped forward and greeted and lead Kyu to the second floor, there wasn’t much in the restaurant at that time but still a few businessmen and just some couples. His heart nearly dropped when he saw Henry sitting on the table but it seemed Hae wasn’t there

He thought in his mind that Hae didn’t come as well; it could be that he really didn’t want to see each other but he shouldn’t have hoped for the best. The woman pulled the chair for Kyu to sit down and bowed before he left. A cheerful smile was brought up with Henry’s face. He was happy right now to see him once again “Good afternoon Kyuhyun” there was a sweet tone in his words

Kyu found it a bit new, he didn’t expect to be called by his first name “Well… good afternoon as well ugh, Mr~” Henry cut off “Henry, just Henry” he giggled out, “Formalities are for businessmen and as of now were just friends to have some quality time to this point so don’t be uptight” he lectured, Kyu only smiled “Sorry, let me start over, good afternoon as well Henry” it made the younger smile “Thanks”

They talked a bit and for a few minutes he couldn’t help but to ask “I was wondering, is President Lee…” he paused “I mean, D-Donghae, going to be present for today” he seemed to muttered out, Henry pouted “He’ll be here about 5 minutes or so, he needed to drop by at a relative of his, he did lived here in his childhood. He also stayed here until he was around 23 before he moved to their place at Beijing, I couldn’t say no because his uncle insisted to at least drop by for an hour or two”

Kyu smiled and nodded “Yeah, he always loved to visit uncle” he whispered to himself but Henry seemed to have heard it “You know Hae’s uncle?” he asked with great interest, Kyu was shocked with the sudden question “Ugh… n-no… not really, it’s just that, I-I… I met him before for a couple of meetings and proposals so we happened to have known each other a bit” the younger smiled, “That’s great but… you also call him uncle? Well I don’t blame you, he is very kind” Kyu sighed in relief

“The Lees are very well known for a tight and firm grip on being one of the top at the field of business, but what I also know that the Chos are also part of that list. Is it true that both the Lee and Cho families are a rival that has a friendly bond between each other?” Kyu couldn’t help but to smile, “Yes, I guess acting up wouldn’t work anymore” interested once again with that reaction Henry wanted to hear more

“My family is the closest to the Lees and both our families had been like that for a very long time, our grandfathers were best friends our parents treated each other like brothers and sisters and…” he paused as he was about to tell Henry about him and Donghae “And? How about you and Donghae and his brother, surely that you guys grew up together since both your mansions were just adjacent to one another” Kyu felt himself nearing exposure to their past but still “Yeah, me and Donghae spent a lot of time together but we’re never really that all out with one another. He’s a nice hyung, caring and stuff. He was great” he couldn’t tell him that whole thing, not now the least

“How ‘bout his brother Hyuk, were you friends with him?” he continued further, “Y-Yeah, but we didn’t quite spent a lot of time together when we came to collage. So I couldn’t say that we were all out friends like our parents” he managed to sputter out and Henry seems to take it in, it wasn’t really a lie, right after high school where both of them decided to take things further that’s the only time Hyuk became distant “Oh… well to be honest, I’m not really close with Hyuk as well” Henry seemed disappointed

“I don’t think he likes me and not that I’d judge someone without even being with him a lot but, I think he also hates Hae. For me, it’s fine if he’ll just hate me, I wouldn’t mind but, the fact that he also hates Hae. I don’t think that’s fair” what he said was true and that’s the same thing Kyu felt when Hyuk gave them the cold shoulders. “You know, Hae’s always upset when he sees his hyung, he’s very eager to get things cleared up between them but… I’ve noticed he was scared”

Kyu seems to be quite interested with what he’s about to imply “I mean, I know it’s not my business to in between brothers but still… I try to consult Hae about having a talk with his brother… it’s just not something that should be left alone… don’t you find it unfair that he was moving away from Hae without even having a decent talk with him?” there was a sign of hope that he’d answer yes to it “N-No… I didn’t want to get involved in their quarrel” it made Henry utterly saddened with it

He lied; he did all that he could to ease things up between the two but something drive him to say no. He wanted an answer, he wanted to know if he’s willing to throw the towel and get that damn contrast between the two. He wants his opinion. “I’m quite disappointed with that…” he said in a low voice, “I know that it’s between brothers but… you were a friend that they’d be with so… why not do something” but he knows in himself that he’s a bit afraid to confront Hyuk himself

“But why didn’t you do something, your… his lover right?” it stung to say something like that “I know… but, I’m afraid of Hyuk, with just a glimpse of his eyes makes me shudder like I’ve been thrown in a freezer. His stares an voice towards me and Hae are always cold, I guess, fear got the best of me but, I was hoping being a very close person to their family meant you’ll be at least influence him to make things better” Henry lowered his head

“Let’s just be true to ourselves, there’s just some things we can patch up between siblings. It’s their situation that they need to quench so it’s not something we can drag along ours” truthful yet painful, but Kyu didn’t liked Henry’s answer, he knows Hyuk could be scary at times but still he fought that fear when he knew that Hyuk wasn’t treating him the same. Henry failed to protect Hae from Hyuk

Everything felt awkward between them; silence got to the two of them and they weren’t sure on how to break it. It felt like ages to be drawn to that thick layer of peace but it was broken when the expected person came. “Hey, I’m sorry I got here quite late. Uncle didn’t want me to leave since it was lunch time but I told him that I’ll be having lunch with you babe and~” Hae couldn’t help but to stop as he saw someone’s back sitting at the table where Henry was

“I’m glad you’ve come, it’s fine, I know uncle’s quite a hassle when he wants you to stay” he smiled brightly, far different from what the silence brought both of them to. Hae felt a bit un-eased with the person. He had a bad feeling. “Come here, have a seat” Henry invited and patted the seat by his side, Hae followed and sat. As he sat on the comfortable seat, the comfort didn’t seemed enough to how bewildered he was to see the person facing him

“It’s been a while hyung, I thought I’d never see you” Hae saw a smile, a fake smile, a burdened smile that held pain and anguish within them. He knows Kyu’s true smiles and this wasn’t one of them. “Y-Yeah, it’s been a while Kyu” in that moment Henry felt a stinging sensation, a flash from his memory surged through him. He recalled the name Hae called out in his nightmares, “Kyu” he didn’t want to sink in the thoughts but, he couldn’t help but to wonder. Was there a past between them or was it only friendship that went through them
