Seungho stepped out from his door frame and towards your apartment. He smiled at you and you felt your heart skip a beat.

“I would really like that.” You held the door open to lead him inside when you heard a voice coming out of the boys’ apartment.

“Seungho-yah?” Byunghee’s face appeared in the doorway. “Oh, where are you going?” His eyes moved between the two of you. You and Seungho looked at each other, both clearly confused how to explain the situation.

“I was going to help our new neighbor. She said she got a new bookcase but needed help putting it together. I was going to take a look and help her with it later.” Seungho said it casually before turning back to you and whispering. “I’ll come back another day to help you with it. I want to have the time alone.” You nodded and smiled at him. You gave him your phone number so he could text you about it and then he returned back to his own apartment.

You closed your door behind you, leaned against it, and sighed. If only Byunghee had come out a minute later. Well, it looked like you had a bookcase to buy now.

The next day you went out early so there would be a bookcase ready to put together whenever Seungho had time. You struggled carrying the heavy box to your complex and had to stop to catch your breath at the bottom of the stairs. You looked up the and sighed at the thought of carrying it up. Just before you knelt down to pick it up, a hand touched your shoulder. You looked up to find Changsun and Sanghyun smiling at you.

“Need some help?” You nodded and Changsun easily picked up the box. He carried it up the stairs for you and into your apartment.

“You can just put it against that corner. Thank you for helping me with that. I thought my arms would fall off if I had to carry it up all those stairs.”

“It’s really no problem. My mom would kill me if she know I let a girl carry that all by herself.” Changsun said, smiling.

“But I thought Seungho hyung came to look at this last night to see if he could assist you in putting it together? How could he see it if you just got it?” Sanghyun asked. Your eyes widened and you quickly stumbled through your thoughts to put together an excuse.

“The one I got had a problem with one of the boards. Seungho pointed it out, so I went back to the store to get it exchanged.” They both nodded. Apparently your made up story was good enough. They left shortly after, saying something about having to sleep because they had a schedule in a few hours.

You decided to work on lunch. You weren’t really in the mood to make anything complicated so you pulled out a pot and set water up to boil. When the water started bubbling, you put the noodles in and sat down to finish a letter to your family. You drained out most of the water when the noodles finished, added the flavor packet, and sat down to eat. You only made it a few bites in when there was a knock on your door.

You opened the door and were surprised to find Byunghee standing there with a few bags of take out. He smiled at you, and held the food up.

“We’re on lunch break and I thought you might be hungry.” He smiled an anxious smile and you couldn’t help but let him in. He frowned a little when he saw the bowl of noodles on your table. “Oh, you’re already eating.” His face fell a little.

“It’s okay! I just started!” He looked up at you for a moment, but then the smile returned. He set the food down and started pulling out containers. You went into the kitchen to get plates and chopsticks for the both of you. Each of you helped yourselves to the food and sat at the table to eat. You found Byunghee incredibly easy to talk to. When you finished, he insisted on helping you with the dishes. You were ready to walk him to the door after the dishes were done, but he had already spotted the bookcase and was walking towards it.

“Is this the bookcase that Seungho is going to help you with?” He asked.

“Yes, it is. Admittedly I’m not very good at this kind of thing, even if there are instructions.” You blushed a little as you spoke. Byunghee smiled at you and opened the box. He pulled out the instruction booklet and flipped through it.

“I think Seungho will be able to finish this quickly. He is very good at these sorts of things.” For a moment you were sure he was hoping you would ask him to help you with it. “I should get going. The boys and I have a schedule tonight.” He put the booklet back in the box and walked to the door. You followed him, opened the door and when he turned around again, you smiled at him.

“Thank you for having me over for lunch. I know you weren’t expecting me, so I’m grateful.” You felt your cheeks flush at his gorgeous smile.

“It was nice of you to bring it. It was much better than the noodles I had planned.” Byunghee smiled at you and then he leaned down to kiss you on the cheek. When he pulled away, there was a huge smile on his face as he walked back to his apartment.

“See you later!” You waved to him and stood there, a little stunned. Just before you closed the door, you saw Seungho on the staircase and he looked angry. He moved up the stairs and quickly to his door.

“Seungho, wait!” You called after him. He paused and turned towards you.

“If you preferred Byunghee, then you should’ve said so.” He wouldn’t meet your eyes and you stumbled over your words.

“He showed up unexpectedly. I would actually rather see you.” You blushed and looked away as his eyes snapped up to you. “But you probably have a schedule like the others tonight.” He instantly shook his head.

“Cheolyong and I aren’t part of that shoot. Would you like to work on that bookcase?”
