When she felt his warm breath tickling her nape, she had a feeling of doom in her stomach, knowing that he was once again going to ruin her life and cause more nightmares.
Jongin wasn't going to come and save her like last time.
Jongin was no longer going to care about her like he used to.
Jongin didn't like her anymore like he used to.
The truth hit her hard like a bus, and tears streamed down her face painfully, not because of what her stepdad was doing to her, but because she finally admitted that she loved Jongin so much that she couldn't be without him; it wouldn't be the same anymore without him with her to protect her, to care for her, to comfort her.
When she felt her clothes being pulled down, her face scrunched up, waiting for the sizzling sensation down there that made her scream in pain.
Nothing happened.
Her eyes fluttered open, and she saw her stepdad hopelessly lying on the ground.
Had Jongin come and saved her?
Tears of gratitude and relief appeared and she looked up to see an unfamiliar face. His nose was sharp, his hair was a golden colour, and his piercing eyes scared her a little.
"Are you alright?"the tall male asked softly as he took off his jacket swiftly to cover her upper body.
She shivered in the cold and nodded while biting her lip.
She was so hopeless.
Weak.
Vulnerable.
She couldn't even protect herself. She vowed, right then and there, that she would never let this happen again.
She saw the male talk rapidly on the phone in a foreign language, and then when the call finally ended his lips curved upwards a little. It was an awkward, small smile he provided as he said, "Aeri, you aren't safe by yourself, why don't you come to my place to stay?"
Her eyes shot up in confusion, and she replied immediately, "How do you know my name?"
He only shrugged with a knowing smile and replied, "I'll answer your questions when we get to my place."
She edged away a little, not fully trusting this stranger.
He sighed inwardly and said, "Look, I'm not here to hurt you. I promise."
She didn't budge and refused to follow him. She was smarter than this. He could be a psychotic killer for all she knew.
He heaved another sigh dejectedly and said, "I saved you. Do you think I would hurt you? Please come with me, or Luhan will really kill me."
After another round of pleading, she finally agreed to follow him.
As they arrived in front of a black car, he said coolly, "My name's Kris, by the way."

Arriving at a house that was quite large, as Kris unlocked the door, three other boys stood at the door, and one of them was looking worried and furious at the same time.
The angry-looking boy glared at Kris and muttered some words in a foreign language. It looked like he was scolding him like a mother would to a child who had just done something horrible. Kris just rolled his eyes and coolly pushed Aeri in front of him, and she was now directly facing the baby-faced boy.
His expression immediately softened, and he smiled sincerely at her before hugging her tightly in his embrace.
Aeri raised an eyebrow in shock and surprise at this sudden action, and didn't know what to do. Why was
