The warm sunlight tickled the exhausted male's face.
His eyes shot open, and he stood up hoping to see her face that he missed so much.
The room was still empty.
It wasn't a dream after all. It was a living nightmare.
His breath hitched, and he stumbled out of the room, grabbing his jacket, not caring about his messy outward appearance. The only thing on his mind was Shim Aeri.
His angel.

Aeri gazed in the distance as the aeroplane was ready to fly. Her mind was heavy with thoughts, about her dad, and about Jongin. She missed Jongin dearly, and she could almost sense his desolation...had she been too harsh by leaving without a word? Maybe....maybe Jongin had a reason for everything. Yet, he had treated her like that, maybe it was good that they were having some time off, to clear their thoughts.
In no time, Aeri was on her way to the hospital once they arrived in China.
"Are you ready to meet him?" Luhan asked with a soothing tone as her shaky hand held onto the cold metal that separated herself from her dad.
She nodded, not realising she had been holding her breath the whole time. With one last mental encouragement, she twisted the door knob, and she was greeted with the sight of a frail, old man on the bed.

Aeri shook her head, and she felt Luhan put a protective arm over her shoulder as they advanced the bed.
"Dad...it's me. It's me, Aeri." she managed to reply without her voice breaking.
"Aeri, it's really you. I thought I would die without seeing you again." he cried out, tears rolling down his eyes as he tried to get up to greet her.
He was too weak to support himself, and instinctively went to support him so his back was on the headrest. She sat on the side of the bed a little awkwardly, and wiped her dad's tears.
"I'm sorry for leaving you Aeri, I really am." he explained, pouring his heart out.
Aeri nodded as tears slipped out of her eyes as well and whispered, "Luhan told me everything already."
"He did?" her dad asked incredulously and glanced at Luhan gratefully.
"Luhan is a great guy, he will be a fantastic brother for you. Right, Luhan?" he asked Luhan with a loving smile on his face.
Aeri caught their father and son moment, and she felt a twist in her stomach. She was a little envious of their relationship, but she was also touched greatly by how close they were.
"I think he will be an amazing brother for me too." she said with a soft smile on her face, and it came from the bottom of her heart.
Luhan snickered lightly at the cheesiness and replied smugly whilst winking, "I know I'm amazing guys."
The room erupted in laughter, and Aeri hadn't felt more alive. This was like a real family, a family she had wis
