Jongin sighed deeply as he trudged back home all alone. He couldn't deny the loneliness he was feeling inside when he decided to ignore Aeri.
He didn't mean to, he really didn't, but he couldn't help it. It was a reaction to protect himself, it was something uncontrollable.
He knew he was an , and he was glad that his friends didn't comment much about Aeri after knowing something was wrong.
But it didn't help that Sehun was always shooting him death stares and sometimes muttered some curse words in front of him.
Yes, he knew that he was in the wrong. But his pride stopped him from apologising, and his past was haunting him continuously, making him uneasy all the time.
He realised that he wasn't ready to tell Aeri about it yet, because he was scared. He was scared of what she would think of him, he was scared that she would leave him, and he was scared that she would be afraid of him.
Sighing inwardly again, he opened the door to his house and his stomach started twisting and turning.
Something was off.
He the lights, the brightness nearly blinding him and he felt a strange feeling of loneliness and melancholy silence as if there was a presence missing.
That's when he realised.
He ran towards Aeri's room and flung it open, hoping dearly that she was there.
Sadly, he was wrong.
The room was empty, and his eyes averted towards the opened wardrobe that didn't have any clothes in it.
She was gone.
He couldn't believe it. She was well and truly gone. Stepping into the room, he took in her vanilla scent that made him miss her even more.
He missed sleeping with her in his arms, he missed talking and laughing with her, he missed watching dramas with her and argue who was better for the girl, he missed doing everything with her.
His hand touched the table next to bed, and saw a piece of paper folded neatly. With shaky hands, he lifted up the paper, unfolding it he saw the familiar handwriting.
Dear Jongin,
When you see this, I will have already left and I'm not sure if you even care that I'm gone, but I still decided to write this letter for you.
