‘Now this is a story about how, my life got flip turned upside down…’

The familiar tune of Fresh Prince comes from the TV as Baekhyun sits over at the kitchen bar eating his generous helping of Mini Wheats (which he thinks are delicious, by the way) and mentally preparing himself for the first day of school. He runs down the list of things he’ll need as he puts his shoes on and turns off the TV.

“Notebooks, check. Writing utensils, check. Wallet, check. Money in wallet, check. Snacks to last me the day, check. Phone--”

As he rounds off his list, he hears a buzz coming from the kitchen counter. Hopping on one foot, he grabs his phone before letting out a quick “Check.” and looking at the text he had just received.

Heyy where r u? I’m downstairs alrdy and still need to do reg!!!!!!!!!!!

To: Park Chanyeol

I’m coming downstairs now! Almost forgot my phone till you texted! Sorry :3

Baekhyun makes his way out of his apartment and down the elevator, where a really eager and very tall Park Chanyeol is waiting for him. He smiles as he sees the tall boy’s massive (and really contagious) smile and dorky wave as if he was trying to get the shorter one’s attention in a massive crowd, even though it was only the two of them there.

“Ready to go?” Chanyeol asks, giving a light smack to the smaller one’s back, before immediately trying to push the glasses that he almost knocked off back up, apologizing the entire time.

“Haha, thanks, and yupp! Lets go!” Baekhyun leads the way to the school before turning backwards and walking face to face with the taller boy.

Them meeting each other had been entirely by chance. A minute early or late probably would’ve resulted in them not seeing each other until school started, which didn’t necessarily mean they would meet each other either. It was just this past summer when Baekhyun was getting ready to head out to meet his friend. As he was leaving his apartment, he kneeled over to tie up his shoes, not noticing this giant on his phone headed right for him and not realizing until said giant yelled out “WAHHHH!” and tripped right over him. He had found out that the giant’s name was Park Chanyeol and was 6 months younger than he was.
