Taemin could have been considered the happiest maknae alive.  He had his umma Key and his friend Jonghyun.  He had the greatest leader on the planet, so caring and cheerful, and more supportive than any of them could hope for.  He had his Minho-hyung, the one who had captured his heart right from the beginning.

He had the four greatest friends in the whole world.  But he wasn't happy at all.  His two most precious hyungs shared an unspoken secret, but Taemin knew, and every smile from the leader, every word of encouragement, every hug from the rapper, every touch and gesture, it pierced his heart like a needle.  His love for them grew, burning like a fire, but with it grew the pain of his indecision, and the grief of knowing they felt that pain, too.

Their eyes said it all.  The way Onew looked at him from afar spelled out love in every gaze.  The way Minho caressed him with his eyes couldn't have been a clearer message.  Their eyes held such longing, and such love.

Taemin knew, and it tore him up inside.  Because he just couldn't choose.
