So this is what first love is all about. Late night calls, sweet messages in the mornings, surprise flowers every now and then, Surprise deliveries of chocolates in my house or at work.  Jiyong was a sweet boyfriend. He was always taking care of me, making sure that I am ok. Bom and CL says that I’m a spoiled girlfriend, I don’t think so though. We never fight. Maybe it’s because we seldom see each other so whenever we have the chance to be together we make the most out of it. 


*ring ring* 

“yoboseo?” Jiyong answered. He was on his way to Dara and CL’s unit 

“Jiyongie!!! Where are you?” Sohee said on the other line. 

“I’m on my way to Dara’s I’m about to go inside the building actually. She’s not feeling well today and she asked for some company.” Jiyong explained pushing the up button of the elevator. 

“Oh ok.” Sohee said hanging up. 

“Wha-? Yoboseo? Sohee?” Jiyong looked at his mobile phone bewildered at what his bestfriend has done. 

The elevator opened at Dara’s floor and Jiyong went straight to their unit. He noticed that the door was slightly opened so he entered right away thinking something had happened to Dara. 

“DARA?!?!” Jiyong said barging in the dark room. “, where’s the light?” 

The lights suddenly came to life and everyone in the room gave out a loud “SURPRISE!!!” 

Jiyong shocked from what had happened has his mouth hanging open as he looked at the people around him. Big Bang members of course, Byul, CL, Bom, Minzy, Sohee, Teddy, Jiyong’s family was there too. 

Then Dara came out of the kitchen holding a cake with a lighted candle. 

“Happy Birthday Jiyong…” she started singing and the whole group joined in. 

Jiyong was on the verge of crying overwhelmed with the surprise his girlfriend has prepared. 

“Make a wish babe” Dara smiled raising the cake for Jiyong to blow. 

“Already got mine” Jiyong blew his cake and winked at Dara. 

“EEEEWWWWWW…. So cheeeeessssyyyyyyy!!!” Top and Bom exclaimed cringing. 

“Awww… They’re so sweet.” Sohee sighed leaning her head on Daesung’s 

“Hyung! *munch* munch* Noona… munch munch… planned this… munch munch for weeks!” Seungri said while his mouth is full of food. 

“YAH! DON’T TALK WHEN YOUR MOUTH IS FULL!!!” CL said smacking him at the back of his head. 

Everyone laugh as Seungri and CL continues with their cat and mouse quarrels. Jiyong gave a kiss to his mother and then hugged his dad. 
“Thanks for coming Appa, Omma.” Jiyong said smiling brightly. 

“You know Jiyong, you have quite a fine lady here. Dara called us up to inform us of her plan and asked your mom for help to cook food! When your mom got here today she practically didn’t do anything, she just pointed at them what to mix with what, what to put on what. Good choice son!” Mr. Kwon smiled patting Jiyong on the back. 

“She’s very handy in the kitchen. She knows her way.” Mrs. Kwon agreed giving Dara a side-hug. 

“Hmmm… She’s wife material ain’t she mom?” Jiyong teased winking at Dara. 

“JIYONG!” Dara exclaimed poking Jiyong on the side. 

“Yah! Are you getting married ahead of me?” Byul butted in pointing a finger at Jiyong. 

“So I’m going to be the man of honor?” Yongbae asked raising an eyebrow 

Sohee was jumping up and down clapping her hands “I’m going to be the best woman!” 


That night was an addition to our memories together.  I felt good that his parents approved of me and that our friends are supportive of us. Marriage was not in my mind yet though, I still have to save a little more for my publishing.  However, it has crossed my mind once or twice. And yes, given the chance why won’t I marry him? For me, h
