He ran and ran past the school gates; past the familiar green trees. 

He ran as fast as his legs could carry him.

His lungs burned. 

Why was he always like this?

Why was he always running…

To you?

But he had to

He had to stop you.

From doing something so crazy.

Tossing your hopes and dreams aside.

And for what?

But now was not the time

His legs were on fire but he kept going.

Till he finally reached the river.

And there you were; eyes closed, listening to the I-pod he'd given you. 

Why did he still take a moment to watch you.

His heart pounded in his chest for so many reasons.

These emotions were so new.

He was angry and upset. 

Yet somehow his heart was racing

Racing at the sight of you looking so calm and serene. 

Finally he stepped forward.

He had to get to you.

Luhan grabbed onto your wrist tightly, spinning you around on the spot.

'OUCH-WAH' you yelped turning on the spot and pulling your earphones out. 

Before you could yell; he beat you to it:

'WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?' Luhan shouted at you, gripping onto your wrist tightly. 

'Tell you what!? Let go of me you're hurting-'

'WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME YOU GOT ACCEPTED!?' Luhan angrily pulled on your wrist, he was sweating and panting. The beads of sweat on his forehead shone against the wonderful orange setting sun - he even looked out of breath beautifully too. 

Your eyes widened.

'How did you find out-'

'WHY...why on this earth would you even consider rejecting it!?' Luhan growled through gritted teeth, utterly bewildered. 

You opened your mouth to speak, but no words came out. 

What could you say?

Your heart was pounding in your chest - tears formed in your eyes; they stung as you tried hard not to blink. Not to let him see.

You tried so hard.

 So long to ignore it.

To fight it. 

But you were lost for words. 

You stared back at your own personal sun. 

You stared at him, unable to utter a single syllable that would make him understand what you were feeling. 

Because what you were feeling was beyond words. 

'No.' you whispered.

'You are going to America.' Luhan stated shaking his head, desperately trying to make sense of your answer. 

'No....I'm not…' You whispered, tear after tear slid down your cheeks; but you ignored them.

Luhan’s eyes widened at your tears.

It hurt to see.

It physically hurt him. He wanted to softly brush those delicate tears away but…

But he had to continue;

'No, you have supported me. You were the one who told me to...you were the one who gave me this new dream and, no-‘

'-now I’m going to support you.' Luhan said gripping onto both your hands. He cupped your face, wiping the tears away. 

'You are going.' He reiterated seriously, staring into your eyes unblinkingly. 

'That is your dream.'

Your eyes widened. 

Your heart froze. 

You stopped. 

It hit you.

The explanation.

As to why you couldn’t go…

‘No.’ you breathed. Your lips quivered as you continued. You held onto Luhan’ hands, refraining him from wiping your tears away.

Why you refused to go…

‘My dream…’

'…is you'

'Luhan.' Tear after tear continued to slide faster down your cheeks. They slid down and across Luhan’s palms.

His eyes widened. 

You both stood still, silent.

You couldn’t hold it in anymore.

You couldn’t fight it.

You couldn’t fight the love you felt for him. It exhausted you trying to keep it hidden.

‘I know.’ He whispered closing his eyes.

You froze upon Luhan’s words.  

'…I figured it out a long time ago....I just didn't want to face it.' Luhan said opening his eyes and staring at you unblinkingly, his heart pounded in his chest.

'You...you figured me out?' You whispered, Luhan dropped his hand, breathing heavily and staring at the ground. Your heart pounded painfully against your chest in shock.

You tried to look into his eyes, trying to find the answer. 

'Lu-'

You couldn't finish. 

Every single wall you had built up. 

Every single thought of doubt and despair you had. 

Every ridiculous worry you had. 

Vanished. 

It disappeared. 

Because Luhan's lips

Were finally

Pressed softly

Yet firmly

Against yours. 

He had kissed you. 

And all you could think of

Were his lips against yours.
