Rachelle found an alley and hide herself.The social workers caught Daniel and put him in the van."Rachelle,they got me.Please forgive me if I broke my promise."Daniel said to himself.The sun suddenly disappeared and the skies became dark.Rachelle was still waiting,waiting if Daniel would pass by.Then it started to rain heavily as if the skies are crying."Daniel,where are you?What if you really don't come?What would I do?What about your promise?Things are so complicated right now.My mind is filled with thoughts."Rachelle thought as she sat down on the road and she started to cry."My parents,Chucky and now you.All of them left already,I don't want you to leave me."Rachelle said out loud.Then she suddenly remembered Chucky.The memories of Chucky that she'll keep forever.The way he smiles,the way he talks,the way he laughs and everything about him.It's like the feeling of watching a movie with Chucky as the protagonist.It seems everything about him has suddenly been refreshed."I miss everything about you Chucky.I hope your happy wherever you are now."Rachelle thought and she suddenly realized that she must not give up Daniel especially their friendship."Who cares about the orphanage?I'll be with you no matter what.We promised!"Rachelle thought as such confidence glow in her eyes.The aura suddenly changed into a strong will of courage.She stood up and said,"Daniel,I'll be right there!."She ran back towards the centre.She was surprised that the van was moving away."Daniel!"she screamed.But the van keeps moving farther away.She screamed a few more times saying Daniel's name but the van never stopped.She tried to run after the van but she couldn't caught up.She knelt down the road,soaked in the rain.Someone from behind put a raincoat on her."You'll catch a flu if you stay out here too long."The voice seemed familiar.Rachelle turned back and her cold eyes began to glow with excitement as she saw Daniel lending his hand for help and a social worker with an umbrella accompanying Daniel.Rachelle grabbed Daniel's hand and stood up.Then she pinched him on his face."Ouch!That really hurts!"Daniel said."Thanks!I thought you already left me.Why are you still here?"Rachelle said."Of course not!I wouldn't leave you.I promised you.I thought I wouldn't see you again.I thought we'd be separated forever!You don't want me anymore,Rachelle?They had to bandage my right foot because of the sprain.The van that left was another van who looks exactly the same as this van to pick-up other kids who are homeless now.Out of the topic,why did you came back?I told you to leave already.Worried about me aren't you?"Daniel said."Of course not!I never wanted you to leave.Not even once!I didn't came back because of you.Erm,I-I just...Oh nevermind!Let's say I do care.Why are we talking here?It's raining very hard and we're still talking.Did you know I cried so much because of you?I really thought we'd be separated this way."Rachelle laughed."I don't know!You keep talking to me that's why I keep talking back.Don't cry for me,you'll get eyebags!"Daniel giggled."Now,now,kids!It's time for you two to go to the orphanage."the social worker said.Rachelle and Daniel went into the van and their off to the orphanage.It took an hour for them to reach it.The orphanage was called "Children Homes."It was a big building painted in light green color.There are fifth floors in the building.Rachelle and Daniel saw the other kids playing by the playground.They were introduced to Sister Courtney.She is the superior of Children Homes.They were interviewed about their families and we're introduced to the other kids."Rachelle,I wonder,what if you didn't came back for me?Where would you be now?Where would I be now?"Daniel asked."I have no idea about that but all I knew that if that happens,I'll look for you.I'll keep looking 'til I find you.I won't give up searching for you because to me,your the only family I have now."Rachelle said."I'd do the same thing if I were in your position.To me,your also the only family I have now and I don't want to loose you either."Daniel said."I came back because I realized how important our friendship was.You've always been there for me and it's only an orphanage so what's in here to be afraid of?"Rachelle said."I hope to strengthen our friendship even more.You really are a true friend,Rachelle because you didn't think what would happen if we both end up here.Your ready to sacrifice the costs and I never expected that your willing to do all this.These just proven the meaning of a friend."Daniel said."Of course!Because the a friend is not just the one you call a friend.A friend is the one who is always there beside you when you have problems or even their miles away,they won't forget you.They wouldn't break their promise.They won't sell you as their friend.They won't betray you.They are always ready to help you in times your in need.They never hesitate to think what the cost might be.That is a true friend.Your one of them Daniel!These days,it's hard to find a friend like you,let's say your kind is now rare."Rachelle said."That is some deep words Rachelle.I kinda got confused but I know that your trying to tell me that how a good of a friend I am and I'm really flattered.Your a smart girl Rachelle."Daniel said."Thanks!I wish we could study again.That would be fun.To learn and discover new things.Then,we can reach our goals though I haven't plan my goals yet,have you?"Rachelle asked."Yes,I wish were back at school again then we'll be classmates or probably not 'cause I'm two years older than you."Daniel said."We stopped on the same grade though so that makes us classmates then if we were to go to school."Rachelle said."Let's not talk about that for now.What if someone adopted you or adopted me?We'd be separated then.Sister Courtney told me that they'd do their best to find Nicole & Ricky Waro.What if they found my parents?What if they don't agree to adopt you?I'm so worried."Daniel said with a sad expression on his face."Don't worry!We'll pursue them,won't we?We'll push them to adopt you or adopt me so we'd be together because if they don't,we won't go with them.Right now,let's enjoy being orphans as were finally free from our real and fake parents who doesn't even care one tiny bit about us."Rachelle said."I guess your right.Let's not worry about it for now and enjoy life."Daniel said as they both smiled.The following days,Rachelle and Daniel went through counselling for them to recover through the trauma that they have experienced through the tragedies they have faced at their young age.The social workers explained to them the meaning of life and how to move on and get over things that takes time to heal.They want to encourage the children to have a new goal without their families to survive because things like these happens and nobody can predict these.The counselling took about a month and Rachelle and Daniel are starting to feel relax and comfortable at the orphanage.They enjoy their lives being orphans than being abused by their families before.Now,they learn new things because the nuns teaches them English,Math and Science."You know Rachelle,this isn't so bad after all.I'm much happier now.It's like being at school with free foods and clothes and a place to stay without us having to work along the streets selling rags."Daniel said."Yeah!I think I'm a much better person now than last month.It made me feel more of a home,a family.Being here feels like seeing a light in the darkness that continues to shine even more and more.Each day it becomes bright and brighter.It continues to glow and encourage me to face the world.From the colorless world,it seems to become more and more colorful each day.My life is starting to have a meaning."Rachelle said."I can relate to that Rachelle.The same thing that your telling me is just how I feel too.The pain in my heart is starting to heal.It's like my heart has been raining 24/7 but then the rain is starting to stop each day.The rain is slowly moving away making my heart feels much happier than before.It's making me want to forget the bad memories also the revenge in my heart is fading away."Daniel said.
