Asking someone out is simple. If you like that person, you just step forward and tell him/her your feelings. It’s as easy as breathing. Kris didn’t know why people got all stressed every time they fell in love. Seeing his friends squirming around just because their loved one was there, it was something he could never understand. What annoyed him the most was the fact that they didn’t even have the guts to confess personally and used sappy love letters instead. Isn’t this the most ridiculous behavior?

Kris swore to himself. If he ever acted like this one day, he would jump off from a bridge.

“Ya! Isn’t that the new student? Woah! He is seriously cute!” Kris had just come back from the cafeteria when he heard his friend, Chen, gossiping and pointing at someone with Lay.

“Who are you talking about?” The tall blonde asked, sitting down on one of the school benches next to his friends.

“Didn’t you see him yet? His name is Do Kyungsoo. He transferred to this school today! He is in Luhan class! Isn’t that bastard the luckiest guy in the world?” Kris followed Chen’s finger, feeling his chest jump and his soul suddenly soaring up to the air when his eyes fell on the most beautiful creature he had ever seen in his 17 years of life.

He had brown hair and big brown round eyes. His skin was as perfectly white and Kris could tell, even without touching, that it was really soft. His lips were thick and oh-so-kissable. He was small and it would be really easy for the taller teen to hold him tightly in his arms. He was beautiful. He was Do Kyungsoo.

“Hey!” Chen snapped his fingers in front of his friend’s eyes. “Are you okay? You look like a statue!” Kris took one of his hands to his chest, clenching his fingers around his shirt.

“No. I’m not okay.”

Kris didn’t need more than a minute to know that he had fallen in love with Kyungsoo at first sight (something that had never happened to him). The days that followed the first time Kris saw him just proved him how the new student had taken over his heart.

In classes, his mind would only think about him. During breaks, his eyes never stopped moving as they searched for him everywhere, at any time, just to get a glimpse at the beautiful student. When classes were over, he hid himself behind anything he could find just to be able to see Kyungsoo leaving his classroom or the school secretly. There was once when Kris even followed Kyungsoo back home! Not to mention the amount of guys he had beaten up just because they looked at Kyungsoo in a weird way. He acted just like a stalker and his friends were getting a little sick of all of this. All he talked about was Kyungsoo, repeating over and over again how cute the teen was, how much he wanted to take him home and how madly in love he was.

“How can you love him if you never talked to him?” His friends would ask him.

“I don’t need to talk to him to know he is the love of my life!”

“Ewww!” Chen pretended to shiver, shaking his head. “You talk about us, but you’re three times worse! That is so lame!”

“Well, if you never talked to him, I think this will be a good opportunity for you to do that.” Lay said, interrupting the other’s conversation. He pointed at the end of the hallway where Luhan appeared, bringing a happy Kyungsoo with him. Every part of Kris body started shouting ‘Alert! Alert!’ and his heartbeat increased visibly. He couldn’t think! He couldn’t breathe!

“What do I do? What do I do?” Kris held Chen by his shoulders and shook him violently, making Chen’s head look like a lifeless doll.

“Just calm down. He is not going to eat you.”

“Right! You’re right! He is not. Right.” Kris took a deep breath and leaned against the wall, wanting to look as cool as possible. Stylishly, he fixed his blonde hair as Luhan and Kyungsoo came closer. Look cool. Whatever you do, just try to look cool. Don’t let him know you’re nervous!

“What’s up guys?” Luhan smiled, patting Kyungsoo’s shoulder. “This is Kyungsoo. My new classmate.”

“Nice to meet you, everyone. My name is Do Kyungsoo.” Kyungsoo said, smiling like an angel in Kris eyes. ‘Even his voice is beautiful!’

“Hi!” Yes, Kris wanted to look cool. But when the ‘Hi!’ left his mouth, his voice was several pitches higher than it should be, making him sound like an awkward little girl. Lay was able to hide his laugh but Chen wasn’t, throwing his head back and laughing loudly, which made Kris three times more embarrassed than he already was. Luhan introduced Lay and Chen first. He knew about Kris’s little crush on the new student so he couldn’t miss this chance to .

“And this manly guy is Kris.” Luhan accentuated the ‘manly’, making sure the word he wanted to pronounce wasn’t that.

“Yeah, I’ve seen him around.” Kyungsoo smiled directly at Kris and the blonde teen had to look away, shyly, or his slightly red cheeks would be noticeable. Things weren’t going as he predicted. “I just didn’t think he was so tall and good looking!”

“Ahhh….Thank you.” The blood crawled up to Kris’s face and he looked like a very, very ripe tomato. “You’re…You’re also very b-“ Kris’s words were suddenly muffed by the bell and before he could say anything, Luhan and Kyungsoo were gone. He wanted to reach out his hand to hold Kyungsoo’s wrist and say ‘Don’t go!’ but the big eyed male was already too far away. It felt like someone had stabbed his heart.

Kris cursed himself for not being able to talk properly and he wondered where all his courage had gone. He acted like stupid 10 years old girl when he needed to act like a man! What the hell? Because of this, he wasn’t able to talk to Kyungsoo properly and he missed the chance he had to get to know him better! Damn it! He wanted Kyungsoo all for himself! How was he supposed to do that if couldn’t even open his mouth? No! He was going to get his courage back! He…

‘I’m going to ask him out!’

Easy to say but incredibly hard to do.

Kris’s first try was based on his belief: when you love someone, you just simply tell him how you feel and that’s all. But every time he tried to do this, his body would freeze automatically or something completely unpredictable would just happen. (Weird for a man of his size, right?).

One of these times, they were all eating at the school’s cafeteria and Kyungsoo was sitting right in front of him. Kris could barely look up and he wasn’t paying much attention to what he was eating because his mind was to busy trying to find the right moment to ask Kyungsoo out.

“Oh Kris!” Kyungsoo suddenly exclaimed, his eyes popping out in surprised in the most adorable way. A little startled, Kris let his spoon fall on the plate with a loud clang. “You’re dirty!”

“Eh? Excuse me?” Kris blinked confusedly, not really understanding what that was supposed to mean.

“Let me help.” Holding his napkin, Kyungsoo reached out his hand towards Kris who unconsciously leaned back on his chair, moving away.

“W-what are you doing?”

“You have food on your lips! I’m not going to hurt you or anything. Don’t worry.” Gently, Kyungsoo held Kris’ chin with his hand and wiped away the small rice grain Kris had on the corner of this lips. Kris couldn’t breathe. Kris couldn’t speak. He couldn’t even think! Kyu
