The Perks of Wanderlust

After a painfully long road trip that lasted longer than it should have, Chanyeol and Baekhyun finally arrived in Las Vegas.

The passing sceneries were so mind blowing that Baekhyun had to pinch himself to check that he wasn't in a dream. City night life was all the same throughout the world, but Baekhyun couldn't help but continue to stare out the window with such fascination that Chanyeol had to smack Baekhyun on the back of his head to bring him out of his thoughts. Being presented through pictures, various television shows and movies certainly did no justice to the city.

"Holy ." Baekhyun muttered, now pressing his face against the window along with his hands. "Las Vegas is... is... It's so ing beautiful!" Baekhyun exclaimed.

Chanyeol only chuckled. "Hey, don't rub your grubby hands and face on my car window. You're gonna dirty it with your filth."

Baekhyun backed away from the window, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Seeing Las Vegas in all its glory has made me think second thoughts about this trip. Maybe this won't be as bad as what my thoughts are telling me. The last time I had gone on a trip away from home was when I had visited my grandparents. I was around twelve. Damn. It sure has been a long time since then, going on a well needed vacation. Where are we staying? In one of those fancy hotels?" Baekhyun asked excitedly, pointing at one of the grand buildings out the window.

Chanyeol gawked at Baekhyun. It seemed as though Baekhyun had an on and off switch embedded in his body. Although he had known about Baekhyun's unintentional bipolar-ness because he was his best friend, Chanyeol couldn't help but think that it was being a tad bit extreme.

Mentally, Chanyeol had rolled his eyes at Baekhyun's dumbness. Did the idiot think he was rich or something?

"No, you . I told you this before. We're staying over at my friend Jongdae's house. He won't mind us crashing over at his house. Sorry for not being made of out money." Chanyeol scoffed. "Staying over at a hotel in the Las Vegas Strip? Ha. Don't make me laugh." His voice was dripping with sarcasm. Baekhyun only laughed.

"Yeah, you're right. It was dumb of me to even think that." Baekhyun chuckled sheepishly.

After a mile or so, they ended up in the outskirts of the city. The area they had arrived at wasn't as fascinating as the Vegas Strip, but it would make do.

As soon as Chanyeol pulled over at the front of a one story house, Baekhyun jumped out of the car, stretching his limbs. His limbs were numb from being in the same position for so long and it felt as if his mouth was burning with thirst. The weather in Las Vegas was tremendously hot and humid. It didn't help that it was summer either.

"So this is..." Baekhyun turned to look at Chanyeol who was still seated in the car. He paused for a moment, digging through his memory to remember the name of Chanyeol's friend who was nice enough to let them in. "Jongdae's house?" He finally asked. The house looked nice enough. But the neighborhood itself looked a little sketchy. Maybe it was because it was already dusk and the neighborhood wasn't shown as much.

Chanyeol hopped out of the car, taking in his surroundings. Baekhyun frowned. He noticed that Chanyeol looked a little taken aback. Chanyeol scratched his head. He scanned the neighborhood with his large eyes and after a few moments he firmly nodded. "Yep. This is the place alright. Jongdae's description was on point." He spoke. Baekhyun nodded, sparing Chanyeol only a small glance.

It was amazing how a simple change of scenery could change your mood. Baekhyun felt the calm serenity of the dawn racing through. The soft hues of orange, pink and yellow brought peace to him, and he liked it. It was calming and it felt as though all his worries were blinded away from the soft colors of the sky.

But his relaxation was soon disrupted by what sounded like a female's voice.

"What the hell?! You didn't ing tell me that you were going to do it, you ! I don't want strangers staying in my house! Hell, my dad doesn't even let you or Yifan sleep over, and he's known both of you for four years!"

Baekhyun blinked once. Twice. Three times. Coming towards him was a girl who reminded him of Hana. Baekhyun bit the inside of his lip as his stomach churned at the sight of the girl coming towards him. He blinked again when she suddenly stopped. Seeing that she was preoccupied with her own matters, he began to analyze her.

She was small, but possessed a killer body; not too skinny, but definitely not fat either. Her curves were in all the right places. Her hair cascaded past her elbows in soft waves. But her hair color was obviously unnatural, being a light caramel with dark roots. Her eyes are were so large and doe-like that Baekhyun had to question himself if she got eye surgery. Her nose was tall. Her lips were a cherry tint. Her clothes seemed to be the clothes she had woken up with this morning. She was a hot mess, but indeed beautiful.

Baekhyun titled his head slightly. Since he was now able to see her close up, he could tell that he had made a mistake. This girl didn't remind him of Hana at all. Baekhyun sighed in relief. The last thing he needed was another Hana.

"What the are you looking at, short ?"

Baekhyun jumped up at the sound of the girl's voice so close up. He focused his vision on what was in front of him. It was her. He grimaced at how close she was. She was so close that he was able to smell the mint in her breath. He turned away before he spoke. He didn't want her to smell his breath. He hadn't brushed his teeth in a long while and Chanyeol had forgotten to pack mints and packs of gum.

"N-nothing." He mumbled, stepping away. "I wasn't looking at anything." He lied, repeating himself clear.

The girl looked offended and her eyes lit up in anger. "Oh, so you think that I'm not worth looking at? You think I'm ugly now?" She frowned, advancing towards him.

Chanyeol, who had been watching the entire scene with amusement, could now detect that danger was burning through the girl's body.

"H-hey now," Chanyeol pushed his way through to step protectively in front of Baekhyun. The girl stopped shortly, slowly looking up to see Chanyeol.

"And who are you to step in my way?" She scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest in annoyance. "And who are you to be so rude and y to my friend?" Chanyeol scowled back.

"Yah! Han Iseul!"

Chanyeol looked at the running figure behind Iseul's back. His eyes brightened up when he saw that it was Jongdae.

"Jongdae!" Chanyeol cried out as he hugged Jongdae as tightly as he could. "H-hey, put me down, you big elf idiot." Jongdae wheezed out, struggling to breathe.

Iseul looked at Baekhyun and Chanyeol in disgust. "You know these idiots?" She asked, looking towards Jongdae who was still trapped in Chanyeol's death hug.

"Let go of me!" Jongdae cried out, hitting the back of Chanyeol's head with the back of his hand. Chanyeol only grinned and dropped Jongdae on the ground. Iseul snorted seeing Jongdae sprawled out on the ground from the impact.

"I know this little er. This is Chanyeol." He pointed at Chanyeol. "I assume the other one is his friend. What's his name again?" Jongdae asked, looking at Chanyeol. "That's Baekhyun." Chanyeol grinned.

"Okay. So why the hell were they just standing in front of my house like lost idiots?" Iseul asked. Jongdae only smirked and motioned her to resume her phone call.

As soon as Iseul brought her cell phone to her ear, Jongdae sat up from the pavement and spoke into his cell phone.

"Is that any way to treat your new guests, Iseul? I thought you were nicer than that."
