Emotions
My Contract MarriageYou came back to Seoul earlier than expected. The trip to Busan was a big mess. You didn’t have the energy and mood to show Sehun around which you felt really guilty about. You wanted to avoid Luhan as much as possible, but you knew he wasn’t that comfortable with your family yet for you to leave him alone with them. You tried to act as normal as you could, but they just saw right through you and you ended up feeling sorry towards them.
Weeks had passed and you were still not talking to Luhan. You avoided his stares and guilt was eating him up wholly. When his parents came back they immediately noticed the awfully different aura between the two of you. They didn’t want it to get worse, so they decided to talk to the both of you.
“Now can you explain what is going on?”
Silence.
“Luhan, explain.” He heaved an audible sigh and stole a last glance at you but you were looking at your feet.
“I don’t know, honestly. I’m lost on what’s happening.” His parents squinted their eyes at him and looked at you.
“Sunmi?”
Your shoulders slumped and decided to let out your side of thoughts. “This might be a sudden news to you, but Sehun and I are dating.”
Luhan’s father gasped and his mother looked at him. *Now that’s why he’s weird,* she thought. “Wait, Sunmi, you’re wedded to Luhan. I have nothing against Sehun, but you should know that you are not allowed to date because you have a husband.”
You nodded and said, “Before I signed the contract with Luhan, we both agreed that we are allowed to date anyone we want.”
His mom sighed as she already knew about it and his dad gave Luhan a look of pure disappointment. “You agreed to this?” He asked his son in confusion. His son’s overflowing feelings for you didn’t escape from his sight and now he was really confused.
When Luhan was about to talk, you suddenly cut him. “Sehun even asked him if it’s okay to ask me out.” You chuckled bitterly and continued, “He didn’t stop him.” Then there was a complete silence. You felt your eyes getting watery and mentally prayed that the conversation would end soon because you might just break down at that moment.
“It’s not what you think it is.”
That’s it.
“You just gave me away like I was some kind of a toy to you. Did I even matter to you? If you’re going to ask me if you did matter to me, yes, you did, and you still matter to me. Why was I so stupid to think you would protect me from others? Who am I in your life anyway? I’m just a mere girl who like you said couldn’t fulfill your needs so you just threw me away like a used doll.” You wiped away your tears angrily and stood up. “I’m sorry, mother and father.”
You walked away from the scene and his heart just sank down and he clenched his fists. His mother looked at him with disappointment and so did his dad. “You said that?”
An audible sniff could be heard and it was from Luhan. He was crying. “I didn’t mean those words. I really didn’t. I know she’s happy with Sehun and that he can give her the happiness that I can’t. Do you really think I want her to be with someone else? Hell no. I’d kill anyone who dares to touch her. I just want her to be happy.” His face was buried in his hands and he continued sobbing.
His mom sat beside him and patted his back. “I know what you’re trying to point out, but has it ever crossed your mind that if you’re happy, she’s happy as well? You’ve become important to her and treating her like that woul
