“There’s no us, Taeyeon. We’re over. We’ve been over for years…”

“I don’t want a jerk back in my life.”

Taeyeon closed his eyes and chuckled bitterly as he recalled some things that Tiffany told him earlier. He is already in his apartment, leaning on the frame of the floor-to-ceiling open window on his balcony. Wearing just a white fluffy bathrobe on as he just finished his shower, he left the balcony for a moment to get himself a drink from his kitchen. Checking the bottles of different alcoholic drinks in the rack, he chose a straw-coloured Islay whisky and mentally praised and thanked his sister for preparing everything for him in his new apartment including his must-have drinks.

With one graceful move, he grabbed a glass, put some ice on it, and carried it along with the bottle of whisky as he strides his way back to the balcony. He poured the glass some whisky and left the bottle on the coffee table as he went out of the balcony, feeling the cold yet comforting wind of Seoul.

It has been a habit for him to drink before he sleeps to keep his mind off from thinking too much – mostly about his messed up relationship with Tiffany. He never thought that he would experience much worse than when Yoona past away. He thought he would be okay to see Tiffany and work with her but just like the girl, it hurts him beeing with her – seeing her eyes full of hatred whenever she’d look at him, treating him coldly, and bluntly saying hurtful words towards him. However, he couldn’t blame her as it was his fault why the girl hates him.

Taking a sip of his whisky with a fruity nose of clean, crisp flavours, he stared blankly at the evening scenery in front of him and smiled as he suddenly remembered Lauren. He couldn’t help but to feel happy whenever the little girl would cling onto him and call him her daddy.

Truth to be told, he sometimes thinks that Lauren is really his daughter but his expectations would just crumble down as he remembers the day when he went back to the penthouse after a month of his break up with Tiffany.

Flashback

It has been a month since Tiffany found Taeyeon in a hotel room with Gyuri. It has also been a month since their wedding got cancelled and Taeyeon moved out from the penthouse. It has been a month that he is wracked by guilt of what happened between him and Tiffany although he himself doesn’t even know if something really happened with him and Gyuri or whatnot as the girl didn’t deny or confirm it either when he confronted her. It has been a month since his life began to gradually mess up as his break up with Tiffany destroyed him.

“What are you doing here?”

“What are YOU doing here?”

“I’m visiting my fiancee.”

“Fiancee? Shouldn’t it be EX-fiancee?”

Taeyeon gritted his teeth as his face contorted with anger at the cocky guy in front of him. Without thinking twice, he grabbed his collar and was about to punch Dennis in the face but stopped when he heard the very familiar voice of his ex-fiancee.

“What do you think you’re doing?!” Tiffany pulled Dennis from Taeyeon’s grasp and apologized at her childhood friend who just came to visit her and fix their strained friendship.

Dennis is in the country for a week with his fiancee and he decided to visit Tiffany to apologize about what he had done before but he didn’t expect that she and Taeyeon is no longer together as Tiffany told him what happened.

Taeyeon didn’t like the interaction between the two and since his anger started to overwhelm him, he couldn’t help himself but to say some things to Tiffany as he thought that the girl has already replaced him.

“So you already found someone else to replace me, huh? Fany-ah, can’t you really give me another chance to fix this? I’ve already done everything… I’ve said sorry countless times… what else do you want me to do?” he tried his best to control his tears as he stared longingly at Tiffany who’s just staring impassively at him.

“I already told you I don’t have any idea what happened. If something really happened that night then I’m sorry. I’m really really sorry. But what if nothing happened? Are you going to throw everything just like that?” he continued as he took a step closer to her but Tiffany stepped back and stared coldly at him.

Dennis was just standing behind Tiffany and silently watching the two, feeling angry at Taeyeon but at the same time, he feels sorry for the guy as he saw how sorry and hurt he was.

“You were both in ONE bed in a hotel room and you’re telling me that nothing happened? It was you who threw everything we had, Taeyeon. It was you. Now go home. And please, don’t ever come back here. Stay away from me…. stay out of my life!” Tiffany raised her voice as she looked at him with hatred in her eyes, breaking Taeyeon’s already broken heart as he let his tears fall from his eyes.

“I love you, Fany-ah. I love you so much… and it hurts.” Taeyeon mumbled the last three words but both Dennis and Tiffany heard him.

Taeyeon took one glance at Dennis before staring back at Tiffany and Dennis saw in his eyes how broken he is. Taeyeon forced a smile at Tiffany before he left the penthouse with tears running down his face and his heart breaking into pieces everytime he takes a step away from Tiffany.

Days have passed and Taeyeon’s first week in the company went well but Tiffany is still treating him coldly despite his efforts of giving her flowers every morning, compliments her randomly, surprises her with small yet cute and sweet gestures like writing a little note on her laptop, sending her good morning and good night messages, teases her, and flirts with her.  Though Tiffany always rejects, ignores, and throws the flowers and other small gifts from him, Taeyeon would just playfully smile at her and would tell her that he’s not giving up and he doesn’t mind embarrassing himself just to win her heart again.

“Lauren!!!~~~”

Sooyoung, Yuri, Sunny, and Jessica squealed as soon as they saw Lauren enterring the private room with Tiffany trailing behind her daughter. It is Saturday and they’re all in Sooyoung and Sunny’s cupcake café to hang out as it has been a habit for them ever since Lauren was born to meet up atleast twice a month either in Tiffany's place or anywhere where they can happily chat with each other. Everyone is fond of the little girl and since she’s the first and only child in their group for now, they treat her really well and even spoil her.

Tiffany just playfully shook her head as she chuckled at her friends’ fondness towards her daughter. Greeting her friends, she sat herself on the empty seat and casually grabbed a cupcake as she watched Lauren being squished by Sunny and Sooyoung.

“Yah, yah, yah! How about handsome Uncle Yul? Lauren doesn’t love Uncle Yul anymore...” Yuri pouted and dramatically sulked as he tried to get his niece’s attention, causing the girls to roll their eyes at him.

Lauren cutely giggled at her uncle and immediately climbed down Sooyoung’s lap as she went to kiss Yuri on the cheek, causing Yuri to fake a sob as he’s touched by Lauren’s gesture. Not long after, Jessica also complained that Lauren no longer loves her, immediately getting a very thoughtful hug and kiss from the little girl.

After everyone got their fair share of Lauren’s hug and kiss, the little girl went to her mom and Tiffany kissed her on the top of her head before helping her to take a sit next to her. She grabbed a cupcake for her and put it on her plate but before Lauren could take a bite, her attention was shifted to the person who just came in.

“Daddy!~~~” Lauren cutely grinned and jumped off her chair, bemusing Tiffany while the others smiled as they watch how the little girl happily threw herself in Taeyeon’s arms.

“Aigoo~~ did you miss me, little princess?” Taeyeon asked as he carried the little girl in his arms, wearing the same cute smile as hers.

“I miss Daddy!~” she nodded before giving Taeyeon a kiss on the cheek and smiling adorably at him, amusing everyone but Tiffany.

“I miss Lauren too!~~” he dorkily smiled and kissed Lauren in the cheek, earning cute giggle from the little girl.

Jessica, Sunny, Sooyoung, and Yuri have smiles on their faces as they’re all amused at the father and daughter’s interaction. They knew that Lauren calls Taeyeon ‘Daddy’ and the two are fond of each other but they never thought that the two are really that close in just a short span of time. On the other hand, Tiffany’s displeased expression is very evident and her friends could just silently sigh at their stubborn friend.

Taeyeon casually sat beside Tiffany where Lauren was sitting before, ignoring the glare from her as he sat Lauren on his lap.

“Hi.” He cutely grinned at Tiffany and immediately received a scowl from her.

Since Lauren is comfortable and seems to be enjoying herself on Taeyeon’s lap, Tiffany didn’t bother to get her from him as she doesn’t want her daughter to throw tantrums yet again.

The group began to talk about their work, their projects, entertainment news, and anything under the sun as laughters and teasings surrounded the private room. They were all happily talking to each other except for Taeyeon and Tiffany as Tiffany would just completely ignore Taeyeon. However, though they’re not talking, their little gestures of feeding, wiping some crumbles of food off from Lauren’s face, and attending to the little girl who’s still on Taeyeon’s lap make their friends to smile and give a teasing look at Tiffany.

Since it’s the very first time in four years that all six of them got together again, Sooyoung suggested going to an amusement park, earning enthusiastic nods and agreement from all of them especially Lauren and Taeyeon who both have the same dorky grins and sparkling eyes as soon as Sooyoung mentioned amusement park.

“Your daughter really got her dorkiness from her father.” Jessica whispered at Tiffany and giggled when Tiffany just rolled her eyes and grumbled as they followed the others out of the café.

Sooyoung insisted that they just use his land rover to get to the amusement park to save everyone from the hassle of driving, exchanging knowing looks from Yuri, Sunny, and Jessica. They all agreed to him and as expected, Sunny sat comfortably on the passenger seat, Jessica and Yuri took the two seats on the last row, leaving only the three seats in the middle row available for Tiffany, Taeyeon, and Lauren.

Knowing what her friends have in mind, Tiffany glared at each of them when everyone was already inside the car, only to earn innocent smiles from them.

“Lauren-ah, Uncle Sooyoung will drive. Can you give me a cheer?~”

“Be careful in… driving, Uncle Soo~~”

Lauren sweetly said and shyly smiled when everyone softly squealed at her cuteness. Taeyeon was about to kiss the top of her head but Tiffany leaned in and kissed her first as Lauren was sitting between them. When Tiffany lifted her head up, she was caught off guard at how close her face is with Taeyeon who’s smiling charmingly at her. She immediately backed away, awkwardly cleared as she leaned her back against her seat and looked out of the car window to hide her slightly flushed face.

“One month.”

“One month?”

“Hmm. One month and these two will be together again.”

Jessica laughed out loud along with Yuri, earning weird looks from their friends. Since both of them are sitting behind Tiffany, Lauren, and Taeyeon, they could see the awkward yet cute interactions between the ex-lovers and they couldn’t help but to make side-comments about how long would it take for the two to get back together.

Not long after, Jessica received a message from Sunny and smirked upon reading it. She immediately showed it to Yuri and they exchanged glances and nods at Sunny and Sooyoung through the rear view mirror, smirking at their plan on giving a family time for Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Lauren.

“Aish! I should’ve seen this coming.” Tiffany muttered under her breath as she watched her four friends disappeared into the crowd.

They were already in the amusement park and as soon as they got inside the place, Lauren dragged Taeyeon and Tiffany near the pink mascot welcoming the visitors and their friends took it as a chance for them to walk away and leave the family alone like what they’ve planned beforehand.

“Mommy!~~ Let’s ride the horse!~~~” Lauren happily exclaimed, tugging her hand and smiling brightly up at her.
