“He already arrived in the country this morning and he’s gonna start working tomorrow. Don’t be too hard on him, okay?”

“Unnie, do I really have to do this? Can’t someone else supervise and help him instead?”

“Aigoo~~ Tiff, there’s no other better person in the company to do the job but you. Don’t worry too much, I’m sure you two are gonna work well together.”

Hyoyeon chuckled as Tiffany looked like she’s about to cry out of frustration. They were heading towards her office and she couldn’t help but be amused at the younger girl’s troubled expression regarding what Director Kim has assigned her to do – to supervise and help Taeyeon to get familiar with the company.

Since Taeyeon’s father suffered from a few months ago, Hyoyeon moved to Seoul to manage their business in the country with Dongwook - her husband, and their son – Leo. Director Kim had to stay in New York to take care of her husband while managing their business in the Western country and since their business in South Korea is growing, they needed Taeyeon’s help to substitute his father.

For the past years, Tiffany has been working very hard for her daughter and her relationship with Hyoyeon, Director Kim, and even with Taeyeon’s father, has strengthened as they all treat her as part of their family. Though reluctant at first because of her broken relationship with Taeyeon, Tiffany accepted being the Managing Director of the Kim’s production company in the country and at the same time, she got promoted as Creative Director in CeCi magazine. She busied herself with work yet spends more time with her lovely daughter and the Kim’s little angel, Lauren.

“Does he already know?” Tiffany hesitantly asked as they stopped in front of Hyoyeon’s office.

“About her?... Nope. We promised you, didn’t we? All he knows is that you’re still working in the company and he’s gonna work under you.” Hyoyeon opened the door as they enterred her spacious and modern office.

Tiffany deeply sighed as she sat on the sofa followed by Hyoyeon. She worriedly stared at the older girl, anxious as she doesn’t know how she will face Taeyeon after four long years of not having any communication with him. For the past four years, none of the people around her spoke about him as she didn’t want to even hear his name. But most of all, she’s worried that the walls she put up after their break up might just crumble when she sees the guy again. After all, though she was totally hurt by what Taeyeon had done, she can’t lie to herself as her heart still belongs to him and only him.

“Tiff, it’s been four years. Sooner or later you’ll meet him and I guess now is the right time. I’m sure mom did this for both of you to finally reconcile not for yourselves but for Lauren. She’s growing up and she needs her dad...” Hyoyeon held her hand as she tried to persuade Tiffany.

It has been hard for the Kim’s and the others to keep the secret from Taeyeon but they respect Tiffany’s request and decision to not tell him about Lauren.

Hyoyeon silently sighed as Tiffany just gave her a faint smile. She knows that no matter what they do or say, Tiffany won’t tell Taeyeon about Lauren as the single mom told herself that she will never let the guy know about their daughter after what he had done to her.

Meanwhile, Taeyeon was wandering around the neighborhood not too far from his new apartment. He was simply admiring the friendly neighborhood as he walks slowly, flashing his charming smile to anyone he would make eye contact with, and stopping in his tracks to take a picture when someone recognizes him.

For the past four years, he spends his days travelling around the world performing on stage and spends significant amount of time at fashionable events. He also started off a career as a model and from there on, he started doing photo shoots, commercials and music videos across Asia and in Western countries.

After the devastating end of his relationship with Tiffany, Taeyeon finds himself broken and he drastically changed as he started to become a typical playboy with a knack for flirting with women and eventually breaking their hearts as he forbids girls from touching him and being involved in any romantic relationship. Being a playboy is his mask to cover up the pain and wound in his heart caused by one mistake he regretted the most in his life.

“Strawberry ice… ice cream for me…”

Taeyeon blinked twice when a little girl tugs his pants while pointing to the ice cream stand near them, giving him an adorable smile while looking up to him.

“Eh??? You want a strawberry ice cream?” he crouched down and warmly smiled at the cute little girl, receiving a cute nod and smile from her.

“Aigoo~~ you’re so cute! Arrasso, oppa will buy one strawberry ice cream for you.” he dorkily grinned as he stood up and the little girl held his hand right away, happily skipping and dragging him towards the ice cream stand.

Taeyeon bought her the strawberry ice cream and also vanilla ice cream for himself. They sat on the bench nearby and he was amused seeing the adorable kid eating her ice cream happily. He couldn’t help but to smile at the sight and strangely, his heart felt warm by just watching the little girl eating her ice cream.

“Oppa, thank you~~” she cutely and softly said as she smiled at Taeyeon, causing him to be greatly touched and awed by the cuteness of the little girl beside him.

‘Aigoo!!!~~~ why are you sooo cute????!!!~~~’

“You’re welcome, little princess!” he dorkily grinned and gently patted the kid’s hair.

The two continued to eat their ice creams with Taeyeon constantly wiping the excess ice cream on the little girl’s face, receiving a cute eyesmile from the grateful kid. Taeyeon finished his ice cream first and just happily watched the little girl when a sudden realization hits him.

“Little princess, where’s your mommy?” he asked, looking around the park for the girl’s mother.

“At work.” She shortly answered, her lips as she already finished her ice cream.

“Eh? How about your daddy? You know, little girls like you shouldn’t be here outside, alone. It’s dangerous.” He gently cleaned her face off from the ice cream using his handkerchief as he took the empty cup from her little hands.

“I don’t know.” The little girl cutely shook her head, causing Taeyeon to stare at her for a few moments as he was a bit taken aback by her answer.

Throwing the empty cups of ice cream in the trash bin not too far from where they’re sitting, Taeyeon crouched down as he faced the little girl who’s obediently following him. He took a few moments to admire the adorable kid in front of him and couldn’t help but to praise her parents as he was completely charmed by the little girl.

“I bet your mom is pretty…” he softly mumbles but the little girl heard him as she gave her another cute eyesmile, nodding in agreement at his statement.

“And your dad must be handsome too because you are a very pretty little girl.” He warmly smiled and gently pinched her cheek.

“I don’t know… I have mommy... pretty mommy only~“ she copied Taeyeon, pinching his cheeks and softly giggling as she finds it fun pinching the guy’s baby face.

Taeyeon confusedly stared at her and felt pity towards the adorable little girl upon realizing what the little girl meant but it was immediately replaced by admiration and respect towards the girl’s mother as he knows that it’s hard to raise a child alone. His mind then was randomly occupied by his ex-fiancee and the thought of meeting her tomorrow after four years caused his chest to feel heavy. For the past few years, he never had heard anything about her and he wasn’t sure if he’s ready yet to meet and work with her tomorrow.

“Oppa~~ I’m sorry, oppa~~” Taeyeon snapped back to his senses when the little girl kissed him on the cheek, thinking that she hurt Taeyeon as the guy’s expression seems to darken because of the thoughts running in his mind.

“Aigoo~~ did you kiss oppa to make me feel better because you pinch me?” he cutely tilted his head on the side and giggled along with her as she nodded to answer him.

Taeyeon ruffled her hair and the little girl cutely pouted at him as she fixed her hair. He softly chuckled as he stood up, patting the girl’s hair and helped her to fix her long, soft, silky hair.

“Lauren-ah~ Aigoo~~ I finally found you! Teacher Luna is worried about you, don’t run away like that again okay?” Luna, Lauren’s preschool teacher, approached them as she sighed in relief upon seeing that the little girl is fine, momentarily unaware that the kid is with someone else.

The talkative and bubbly teacher began to babble on how worried she was upon realizing that the lovely but sometimes can-be-so naughty little girl was nowhere to be found at the kindergarten’s premises, amusing Taeyeon as he watched how Lauren’s face changed from being amused to being distressed when her teacher just continued talking while checking her if she got hurt or whatnot.

“Ahem… uhm… Miss… Miss Luna, right? Don’t worry, Lauren is completely fine and she’s sorry for worrying you.” Taeyeon spoke and warmly smiled at the stunned teacher.

Lauren giggled as her teacher seemed to be astonished by the charming guy in front of her. She tugs her teacher’s uniform skirt, successfully snapping her back to her senses.

“O-oh! I’m sorry, I didn’t notice you. You must be Lauren’s dad? Aigoo~ like what I expected… you’re such a charming man!” Luna smiled widely as she clasped her hands after admiring the guy in front of him.

“Errr… thanks? But… but I’m n---“ Taeyeon awkwardly smiled, scratching the back of his head but he was cut off when Luna dragged him along with Lauren as she started to talk nonstop again, leaving no choice for Taeyeon but to just silently sigh and let the young teacher drag him to wherever they’re heading to.

“I always thought how Lauren’s dad would look like since her mom is really pretty and after seeing you, I now conclude that the world isn’t really fair. Aigoo~~ you’re such a beautiful family! I’m sure if you’ll have a son, he will be handsome too!”

Taeyeon awkwardly laugh while listening to the non-stop compliment of the young preschool teacher, while Lauren has a bright smile across her face. It only took them a few moments to reach a European style 3-story wooden building which is Lauren’s kindergarten.

“Since you’re here, would you mind if you join the other parents over there? We still have an hour before the class ends. Please excuse us… errr…” The bubbly teacher blinked up to the smiling guy beside him.

“Call me Taeyeon, Miss Luna.” He charmingly smiled at the flushed teacher before shifting his gaze to the pouting little girl beside them.

Taeyeon softly chuckled, amused by the adorable little girl yet again as he crouched down and patted her head while holding her little hand.

“Aigoo~ what’s wrong little princess?”

“Will you watch Lauren from there?”

Taeyeon glanced on where the little girl is poi
