Chapter 8

“Actually we have part-time cleaner, but they don’t like outsiders to comes into the house.”

Yonghwa explain.

“It’s okay! It’s my responsible to contribute something!”

She continues,

 “Last time when I was in America, I also helps my mum in doing the chores, so my mum won’t be too tired.”

“You’re such a good child.”

“That’s because mum and dad loved me dearly.”

“So do you loved them the same way they love you?”

“Yes!”

Yonghwa gaze at her smile which is full of happiness.

In his house, he will not need to do any chores for his parents.

All the chores are done by the maids.

He’s not allowed to do any of this since he’s the young master of the family.

The only thing he can do, is to let himself to be excellent so as to fulfilled the perfect image sets by the elderlies in the family.

Yes, in such a musical family, “Perfect” and “Excellence” is what they want throughout their life.

L continues in playing the computer game in the living room while Taemin keeps peeking the kitchen once in a while.

“Idiot, do you think that kid really knows how to cook?”

“, do not underestimate foreign kids.”

“Idiot, He’s a korean! Didn’t you heard what hyung said, his biological parents are both korean?!”

“Really? ! When was hyung introducing, he didn’t said that his biological parents are korean, he just said that he comes to korea to look for them!”

“I said that he’s a korean!”

“Who do you think you are? It’s not for you to decide!”

“I said he is!”

“Like what I’ve said, who do you think you are!”

Again, their quarreling starts……………..

Meanwhile in the kitchen, all the dishes are done!

Grilled steak, Fried onion rings, cheese fries…..

One by one, the dishes are being serve onto the dining table by Hayeon and Yonghwa.

L and Taemin immediately stop the “war” and sits around the dining table.

Yonghwa and Hayeon are sitted down too.

The first dinner for them starts!!

L hold up his utensils and is about to start eating.

Just then, Hayeon stops him,

*“Wait!”

Everyone look at her surprisely.

Hayeon cross her fingers together with her eyes closed and begin to pray,

Thank you god, for giving us food and lets us to stay alive. Amen.

After finish praying, she holds up her utensil and begins to eat.

L looks at her speechlessly and continues eating his dinner.

Taemin looks at her unbelievably while Yonghwa smile and elegantly holds the utensils up.

Taemin is staring at Hayeon while eating the steak.

Hayeon feeling uncomfortable with his stare, she ask,

“I’m not the food! Why are you staring at me?”

“I think that you look more like a girl instead of a boy!”

He replied honestly.

In which Yonghwa respond with a giggle,

“She’s a girl from the start!”

L almost choke upon hearing that.

“A…a girl?!”

Taemin exclaim.

“What’s with your expression?”

Hayeon don’t understand why Taemin is reacting like this.

“How can you be a girl!”

“Why not? I’m a girl from the start!”

“A girl should have a girl look!”

“Why? I don’t see a problem with me being a girl.”

“No way!”

*“Why?”

“Because of what you’re wearing, you more look like a ert!”

“That’s a misunderstanding!”

“Also, take off your cap!”

*“Why?”

“Please you speak in Korean!”

“Why?”

Taemin finds that it’s hard to communicate with her.

“Since your Korean is not that fluent yet, you have to study hard in the future.”

Yonghwa said to Hayeon.

In which Hayeon replied with a nod.

“By the way, you prayed before eating a meal. Are u a Christian?”

L ask coldly while cutting the steak.

Hayeon look at L and shakes her head.

“Then that is not necessary!”

“But my mum and dad did this before every meal!”

Hayeon said innocently.

“I said it’s not necessary so just change that habit!”

“You’re such an overbearing person!”

Yonghwa then smile and comfort her.

“You don’t need to change for anyone.”

Hayeon was touched and she let out a brilliant smile.

L shrugged his shoulder and say,

“Then please don’t do it in front of me.”

“Are you bias against religious?”

Hayeon looks at L and said softly as she’s afraid that she might anger him.

“So what if I’m bias, you’re not even a Christian, so what for pray before every meal?!”

L frown and his hands which are holding the utensils tightens.

Hayeon startled and looks down.

She knew that would angered him somehow…

“Hayeon-ah, the dishes you make are so delicious!”

Yonghwa change the topic and also the tense atmosphere.

“Thanks!”

Hayeon tries to forget what happen just now and smile sweetly at Yonghwa.

After that, four of them eats their dinner quietly.

However, since dad and mum passed away, Hayeon first time had a feeling of home….
