“Urgh… Can’t we take a break?” Yumi asked as she laid her head on the desk she was sitting at. Kevin sat down at the desk beside her. “You got a break 10 minutes ago…” Yumi pouted. “I’m unmotivated right now.” Kevin ran his fingers through his hair. “Here is what we’ll do… If you do these…” Kevin scribbled down some math problems and handed them to Yumi. “I’ll give you permission to leave an hour early.” Yumi got a hopeful expression but it went back to gloomy as she saw the problems. “No fair! This is what I’m worst at!” Kevin flashed a kind smile. “Well this just proves you need the full two hours and the entire Saturday!” Yumi frowned. “Fine… Make me learn stuff.” Kevin gave a triumphing smile as he started to show her ways to solve the problems.

“I was thinking we could study at your house this Saturday.” Kevin said as he was checking Yumi’s papers for faults. Yumi just shrugged. “Sure. Be warned by my brother though. We might not get to study much because he has to check on me every 5 minutes.”  Kevin chuckled. “We’ll just have to make the best of the 5 minutes then.” Yumi leaned on her elbows. “Why not your house again?” Kevin looked at Yumi with a small smile. “I want to see your room too.” Yumi started to play with her hair as she looked down the floor. Talking about a bedroom made her think about her stay in Kevin’s. She started to blush. Kevin noticed and smiled to himself. “She’s so cute.”

“So Kevin…” Yumi started as they walked down the 2^nd floor hall. “Do you have a girlfriend?” Kevin made a small smile. “Nope.. Totally single.” Yumi nodded. “So he’s single… Nice… Wait what?” Yumi got pulled out of her thoughts as she suddenly got pushed into Kevin by a running student. Kevin quickly held out his arms so Yumi wouldn’t fall to the floor. “YA! No running in the hallway!” Kevin yelled as he was still holding Yumi in a tight grip. “Are you okay?” Yumi looked up and noticed how closer her face was to Kevin’s. She straightened her back and cleared . “Yeah I’m fine. Thank you.” Kevin noticed that the red bow Yumi was wearing in her hair had come undone. Kevin reached out and started to tie it properly. Yumi froze in her position while blushing in a dark shade of pink. “There…” Kevin let his finger run through her hair as he took a step back to look at his work. “Just as cute as ever.” He flashed a cheeky smile as Yumi just shyly looked to her feet. She mumbled a “thank you” under her breath. “Well I’m kind of in a hurry, so I’ll see you Saturday. Should we say 11am?” Yumi’s jaw dropped. “On a Saturday? Are you trying to kill me?” Yumi waved her hands in frustration. “Noon then?” Yumi glared at Kevin with a -are you serious- look. “Yes I’m serious.” Yumi groaned. “Fine… I’ll see you Saturday then… Here’s is the address.” Yumi handed Kevin a piece of paper and waved as she walked off. “I wonder how she lives.”

“Be nice!” Yumi looked at her brother with a stern look before she went out to open the door for Kevin. “If he’s nice, I’m nice.” Yumi glared at her brother before she opened up. “Hi sunbae.” Yumi cheerfully greeted as she waved with her hand. “Hi Yumi.” Kevin smiled back as Yumi gestured for him to enter. “Woah.. Your house is really cosy! Nothing like mine.” Yumi nodded. “Yeah it’s a lot more laid back.” Hoon cleared his throat. “Hello I’m Hoon.” Hoon extended his hand for Kevin to shake. Kevin did as gestured too. “I’m Kevin. I take that you are Yumi’s brother.” Hoon nodded. “Yeah so you better look out.” Hoon had a very stern tone to his voice. Kevin suddenly became nervous. “Ya oppa! You promised to be nice.” Hoon gave an innocent smile as he patted his sister on the head. “I am.” Hoon disappeared into the living room. “Sorry about that.. Over protective.” Kevin just shook his head. “Don’t worry about it.” He flashed a breathtaking smile. Yumi felt her heart beat an extra time. “Do you wanna see the rest of the house?”

“Your room is so much more girly than I thought it would be. You even have pink on your sheets.” Yumi frowned. “What’s that supposed to mean?” Kevin just smiled. “Nothing.. I like it.” Yumi felt her cheeks heat up. She made a small smile which Kevin immediately noticed. “Uhm Yumi?” Yumi looked at Kevin with warm eyes. “I was out the other day and I kind of stumbled over this…” Kevin held up a dark purple hairclip with a sliver flower on it. “I thought it would fit you.” Yumi’s eyes went wide. “For me?” She blinked a few times to get her head around it. “You bought this for me?” Kevin just chuckled. “Yeah I did.” Yumi took the hairclip. It was completely her style and fit the clothes she was wearing. “Wauw… Thank you!... But why?” Yumi asked as she studied the little sliver flower. “I just thought a little reward would be good.” Truthfully he just wanted to do something nice for Yumi, but he couldn’t say that. Yumi walked over to her full body mirror and tried to fix her hair so the clip would look good. Kevin couldn’t help but laugh as he saw Yumi’s struggling expression. He walked over and stood next to her. “Need help? I’m really good with hair.” Kevin assured. Yumi turned to him and shyly nodded. Kevin took the hairclip and took some of Yumi’s bangs and moved it away from her petit face. “There… Now I can see your pretty eyes.” Yumi blushed as she quickly turned away mumbling a low “thank you” in the process. “Aish Kevin! You need to stop with the complements… You are making her uncomfortable!”

“I think it’s best if we study in my room. The desk is a lot better than the little table in the living room.” Kevin nodded. “Whatever you say. It’s your house after all.” Yumi smiled. “I’m just gonna tell Hoon and then we can start.” Kevin gave a thumb up as Yumi disappeared out of the room. Kevin glanced around Yumi’s room one more time. He noticed a couple of family photos and assumed it was her parents and brother. As he looked at the pictures Yumi came back into the room. “I look like my mother.” Yumi softly said as walked over next to Kevin. Kevin nodded. “Where are they now?” Yumi looked out of her window with a sad and sentimental look. “Up there.” Yumi pointed to the blue sky with a small smile. “In heaven, where they belong.” Kevin felt bad for asking since he didn’t know they were dead. “I’m sorry.” Yumi just shook her head. “Don’t be. They are in a better place.” Yumi flashed a kind smile while starting to find all her things for math. Kevin wanted to ask what killed them but decided not to.

“That is almost correct.” Kevin leaned down to inspect Yumi’s paper. “You are missing a few calculations here and here, that’s why they don’t fit.” Yumi threw her pencil in defeat. “Urgh… So hard!” She exclaimed. Kevin just chuckled. “Oh come on, it’s not that bad.” Yumi just glared at him. “Is there a subject you are really bad in?” Kevin nodded. “Yeah I’m not really good at biology.” Yumi looked up at him. “Do you think it’s really hard?” Kevin just nodded, not being entirely sure where Yumi was going with this. “Then you know how I’m feeling right now.” She just said as she looked down to her paper again. “I guess it’s a little bit hard then.” Kevin just stated as he went to open a window. “Yes open it! It’s so hot today!” Yumi exclaimed. “We should’ve studied outside.” Yumi shook her head. “No because that would be even worse.” Kevin smiled. “I guess you’re right.”

Suddenly the catchy melody of the Ice cream truck beamed in through the window. Yumi’s glanced behind her with a pouty face. “What is it?” Kevin asked as he saw her expression. “Ice cream.” Yumi’s voice was as a little sad child’s. “You need to finish this before you can get any Ice cream.” Kevin pointed at the papers in front of Yumi. Yumi frowned. “Did you know that you are really mean?” Yumi started to finish up the problems in a quick pace. “There, DONE! Can I go now?” Kevin’s eyes grew wide at the sudden change of abilities. “I thought you didn’t know do these.” Kevin raised his eyebrow while crossing his arms over his chest Yumi bit down on her bottom lip. “Aish.. Now he thinks I’m like… Good.” Yumi turned her attention to the hallway as she heard Hoon call out her name. Hoon showed in the door. “Good girl, you are still here.” Yumi frowned at her brother. “She’s not allowed to spend her money on sweets.” Hoon looked at Yumi with a -you should know better- look. Kevin just nodded as he picked up the problems Yumi just solved.

The Ice cream truck went by again and Yumi decided to make a run for it. Sadly Hoon was prepared and grabbed her around the waist. “Oh no you don’t.” Hoon held her in a firm grip as Yumi tried her best to wiggle herself out. “Just one? I’ll get a popsicle… PLEASE?” Hoon frowned. “But I just baked you cookies since you’ve been working so hard!” Hoon complained as he kept holding around his sister’s waist. Yumi stopped wiggling and looked back at her brother with a surprised look. “You what?.” Hoon looked at her. “I made cookies.” Yumi looked stunned. “For me?” Hoon let go of her waist while shaking his head. “No for the queen of England… Of course they are for you. Aish, are my words even getting through your ears?” Yumi embraced her brother with a huge grin on her face. “Ahhhh Thank you oppa! I love you!” Hoon hugged back as he chuckled. “Yeah and I love you.” Kevin just sat on the desk and enjoyed the scene before him with a small smile curved over his lips.

Yumi quickly went to the kitchen to get cookies and brought a couple of them to her room so Kevin could taste them too. As she walked in she saw Kevin sitting on her bed with an Ice cream cone in his hand. Yumi just stared at him with irritated eyes. “Oh you’re back.” Kevin said with a smile as he the strawberry flavoured ice cream. “Y-you… You…” Kevin nodded. “Yeah I bought Ice cream.” Yumi made a cute pouty face as she stomped her foot in the ground. “YOU JERK!” Kevin raised his eyebrow. “Says the girl who was pretending she didn’t know her math problems.” Kevin made a sly smirk as Yumi’s frown just grew deeper. “No fair! I even brought you some of the cookies!” Yumi showed the plate in her hands. “But now you are not getting any.” Yumi said with a cold tone as she took her cookie for herself. “Well I’ll rather have Ice cream.” Kevin said as he the Ice cream once again.

Yumi took a small stuffed toy and threw at Kevin without him noticing. The toy hit right under the Ice cream cone and made Kevin get the strawberry flavoured Ice cream spill on his face. Yumi immediately started laughing like crazy. Kevin on the other hand was mad. “YOU LITTLE.. Urgh… This was a new shirt too! AISH! Yumi Yukita you are SO DEAD!” Yumi quickly ran out of her room as Kevin followed her. Yumi ran to Hoon and hid behind him. “Oppa… Kevin is going to hurt me.” Yumi said with a cute aegyo voice as she back hugged her brother. Hoon raised his eyebrow as Kevin appeared in the door. “He what now?” Hoon held back laugh as he saw Kevin’s face with all the Ice cream one it. He looked down to his younger sister with a stern look. “Now Yumi, that was not nice.” Yumi met her brother’s eyes. “Now say sorry to Kevin.” Yumi pouted as she looked at Kevin. “I’m sorry sunbae.” Kevin narrowed his eyes. “I don’t take apologies lightly. You need to come over here and look me in the eyes.” Yumi made an annoyed expression and came over to Kevin. Even though she liked messing with people she still had some respect for people who was older than her. Before Yumi could react, she had Ice cream all over her face too. “YA!” Yumi exclaimed as both Kevin and Hoon started laughing uncontrollably. “Good lord!” Hoon said as he wiped away a teardrop from laughing so hard. “I like this Kevin guy! He knows how to deal with you pretty well.” Hoon started to find some napkins for the two younger people so they could get the sticky Ice cream off.

“YES! Finally done!” Yumi said as she leaned back in her chair after hours of studying. “You did really well today.” Kevin said as he raised his head from a book he had been reading while Yumi had done self-studies. “So what now? When are you going home?” Yumi asked as she stood up. “Kevin shrugged. “When you tell me to leave.” He flashed a cheeky smile. Yumi looked back at him with a smile. “Well then would you like to stay a little longer and maybe go to the park with me?” Yumi looked down at Kevin and suddenly realised what is sounded like. “Would this be a date? No, no, no… I didn’t ask him out, it’s just a walk in the park.. No big deal.” Kevin seemed to be thinking the same or at least something compatible. Kevin gave a warm smile. “I would love that.” Yumi felt her cheeks get warmer as she shyly smiled back.

“How can you wear that thick blazer in this weather?” Yumi asked as she tugged on Kevin’s white and blue striped blazer. Kevin shrugged. “I’m not really a hot blooded person and… some spilled Ice cream all over my t-shirt.” Yumi just nodded while smirking. Her attention quickly turned to the old swing set by an old oak tree. Kevin watched as Yumi ran like a little happy child and sat down on the swing. Kevin slowly walked over behind her and started to push her. “You don’t have to do that.” Yumi said and looked back at Kevin. “It’s only fun when people push you.” Yumi titled her head. “That’s true.” Yumi was getting pretty high up so Kevin decided to stop pushing and just stand to the side and look at Yumi’s thrilled expression. “She really is the pretties when she smiles.” Kevin the overheard some girls talk about Yumi and him as a couple. “They look so good together! Why don’t I match this great with a guy? Wauw they must be the power couple of their school.” Kevin couldn’t help but smile at the girls’ comments but then he also got a bit sad. “We are not a couple though.”

“Uh uh uh uuuhhh..” Kevin almost jumped as Yumi tugged on his arm while she was pointing towards the little pond. “Look at the small ducks! SO CUTE!” Yumi exclaimed. Kevin couldn’t help but laugh as he followed her to the pond. Yumi bought a back of breadcrumbs from an older lady sitting on a bench and started to feed the little ducklings. Kevin sat down next to the older woman and just watched Yumi shine in all her cuteness. “You should consider yourself lucky young man.” The lady said as Kevin looked at her with confused eyes. “Yumi is a keeper.” She gently said as she stood up. Kevin waved his hand while shaking his head. “Oh no we are not…” The woman cut him off. “Don’t be in denial young man. It’s beaming out of your eyes when you look at her.” Kevin’s eyes grew wide as the woman walked off. “I guess I really do like her… A lot.”

The time was getting late and Kevin had to go home. “Thank you for today sunbae.” Yumi said with a smile as they stood at the bus stop. “No thank you. I had fun in the park.” They both smiled. “Yumi?” Yumi nodded. “Would you…” Kevin paused as he tried to gather courage. “Would you go on a date with… Like a proper dinner and movies date.” Yumi’s eyes almost popped out of her head as the words left Kevin’s lips. “A DATE… A REAL DATE?! Oh my goodness… Kevin is asking me out! Why am I not saying yes? GOD DAMN IT, SAY YES YUMI!” Yumi took a deep breath as her face became flustered and red. “I… I w-would l-lo-love to.” She shyly said as she noticed Kevin’s face becoming crazily happy. “Really?” Yumi nodded as she smiled. “Yes, really.” Kevin wanted to throw his fist in the air but decided to only do it mentally while smiling like an idiot. “Great!” Kevin exclaimed and made a thumb up. “I’ll text you the details then.” Kevin said as he saw the bus roll up. Kevin leaned over at gave Yumi a small peck on the cheek before waving and disappearing into the bus. “Bye bye Yumi.”

Yumi raised her hand to the spot where Kevin’s lips had touched. She could feel how hot her cheek was and imagined how her face looked. “Oh.. My… GOSH! He freaking kissed my cheek. HE KISSED MY CHEEK!”
