Chapter Seven

HYERI'S POV

He was still crying when I returned from downstairs. I handed him a glass of water and he immediately gulped it down his throat.

"I look awful." He managed to choke out. He cleared his throat and continued, "And I sound awful."

"It's okay, just take your time." I said and leaned my back on the headboard.

He was sitting at the edge of my bed but moved to the space next to me and hugged me very tight. He is naturally born to like skinship but I don't mind. I loved him because of who he is, not because he is Kai, but because he is Kim Jongin.

"I didn't know rejection could hurt me this much." He started. "At first, I was confident that she'll say yes but after what happened, I'm afraid to feel this again. I'm afraid to be rejected again."He said and again buried his face in my hair.

"Yah..." I cupped his cheeks and looked at him in the eye. "Don't be afraid, it won't kill you."

"It kills me, Hyeri. I see her smile and hear her laugh every day. It makes me want her to be mine and me to be hers."

"But we can't force her feelings..."

"I won't force her; I'll make her fall for me."
