Jessica’s side story

After hearing the news of my family members were dead, the sadness inside my heart was almost impossible to describe. It was until the new transferred student came to our high school. The first day she came in the school was like a lightening. Her beauty was no joke. In minutes, she became so popular.

Her smile was everyone’s favorite so, was mine. Her smile was like a ghost who kept haunting me. It usually flashed into my mind out of sudden but sometimes, I found myself smiling like an idiot whenever I thought about her smile. The sadness in my heart was nowhere to be seen. It was evanesced by the image of her smile which I totally adored.

Days passed. She was familiar with the school and the students. She became friends with some popular kids who kept bugging her on her first day. And, I was nothing in her eyes. I felt like I was a wind – no color and no appearance. I couldn’t blame her. It was my fault to be very quiet and cold to the others.

We shared classes together but never once we talked together. Every night, I would usually think about her. I wondered how it felt if I was the one she smiled to. I wondered how happy would I feel.
