Soul Catchers
Description
How does one lose their soul?
It’s quite simple actually.
There are human-like creatures lurking the world called “Soul Catchers”.
Sounds innocent, right?
They’re vicious.
These creatures steal human souls. Soul Catchers need these souls to live. They feed on their energy.
Once the Soul Catchers have been fulfilled, they shape-shift into human form and search the ends of the Earth for the original owner of their soul.
Sounds fine, right?
Here’s the catch:
Soul-less people that regain their souls are fated to die gruesome, painful, slow deaths soon after receiving their souls again.
There is, however, a way to avoid this death.
Soul Catchers that stay in human form for extended periods of time are automatically turned into humans for the rest of their life.
No Soul Catcher has the desire to be human.
Therefore, on the rare occasion that the Soul Catcher is unable to find their victim before their time runs short, they’ll give up and go back to their original form. Thus, their victim is left soul-less forever.
Foreword
Lee Sol isn’t your typical Korean girl. She has red hair, pale blue eyes, and eternal life.
What?
Sol has no soul.
She feels pain, but can never die.
This, she is aware of.
But there are things she doesn’t know yet.
Like why her parents both died such horrible deaths when she was still a baby.
How she was able to live on her own for so long.
Or why she was given this special gift.
She’s curious, of course.
But she’s too busy being a dare devil to let her curiosity get the best of her.
That was, at least, until that new kid showed up.
It was totally random.
He just showed up one day at her bus stop.
Never said a word.
He just stared at his shoes.
And walked to his house after they got dropped off.
She’d tried to talk to him, but he walked too fast.
It was kind of rude actually.
Of course Sol was curious.
One day she followed him.
Just to see where he went.
But what she didn’t expect was for him to walk into the apartment building’s garage.
It seemed suspicious.
But Sol let it go.
For then, at least.
