Taeyeon's POV

I suddenly remembered something me and Fany talked about.

(Flashback)

I was talking to Tiffany about why she's been so down lately. 

Could it be the stress from school? I don't know.

I wish I did.

"It hurts. It hurts to see Yoona with Yuri..." she said.

"Why? You... like Yuri?" I asked.

"No... I love Yuri..."

I nodded.

"I feel like crying everytime I see them together." she smiled sadly.

"Does it hurt a lot?" 

She just nodded.

"Is that so?" I smiled, "Don't worry, Fany. Everything will be fine eventually."

(Flashback End)

If only I knew...

If only I knew back then that I'll start falling in love with her.

Now, I see her hurt everyday.

She's hurt, but she's dating this other guy.

As much as I want to tell her everything... I can't.

I just can't.

Thinking of what'll happen to us if I did... I wouldn't dare to.

She doesn't think of me that way... since she's still madly in love with Yuri.

And it doesn't help with people chasing after her because her dad owed them money.

Both of them died and only she and her oppa is left.

But her oppa is nowhere to be found.

*DING DONG* 

My doorbell rang.

I opened the door, surprised to see the person I was thinking of.

"The debtors... they're at my house." she panted.

"They found it?" I sighed, "Stay here for a while."

"But they know... they know that I might go to my best friend's house. They know you..." she said.

Best friend... that's all I'll ever be...

"They don't know where I live. Stay here. I'll protect you with my life." I said sincerely.

"I can't let you take the risk..."

"You're my..." I gulped silently, "...best friend. I have to make sure nothing bad happens to you."

She smiled, "You're the best, Kim Taeyeon."

I chuckled, "I always am, aren't I?"

"Don't push it." she glared in a teasing way. 

"So... how's it been going with Siwon?"

"Like usual... just dates and holding hands and..."

"Thinking of Yuri while you do all those things? Imagining Siwon to be Yuri?" I completed her sentence for her.

"Very bad, but yes. I just can't forget about her." she was close to tears.

"If you want to be in a relationship, be sincere. Don't pretend to like someone when you don't. It'll just cause hurt to yourself and the other party."

"How do you know all this?"

"Let's just say I understand love."

"Really? What is love to you?" she asked me.

"Love is... when you see the person you love with another, your heart shatters into a million pieces. When you see the person your love getting hurt, you feel like killing the person who hurt your love. When you feel like that person if your whole world." I explained.

"When you're with them?"

"When you're with them, you think you own the whole world." I chuckled.

"You know quite a lot, Tae."

"Of course I do."

Then my phone vibrated.

"YOU MUST BE JOKING!" I shouted.

"What?" Fany asked.

I showed her the phone.

*I just broke up with Yuri, Taeyeon unnie.*

"No... freakin... way!" Tiffany shouted.

In joy? Maybe.

"You have a chance now, Fany."

"What if she doesn't think of me like that?" she asked.

"I'm pretty sure you'll have a chance with her." I smiled, "Come, I only have one spare room. The room is a bit dusty but I'll get it cleaned up. Meanwhile, you might want to watch television or eat."

"I'll help you." she offered.

"No. I should treat the guest well right?" I smiled.

I went inside the room and looked at the room.

"I should be able to get this cleaned up soon."

I went in and dusted off all the dust and arranged the bed neatly.

"I'm done, Fany." I shouted.

"Okay."

She came in.

"Wow. It's so clean in here. I'm not used to it." she laughed.

I chuckled, "Yeah. Your place is like a pig's sty."

"Yeah. My old place..." she looked away, "Anyway, do you have clothes to lend me?"

"I do... but it might be a bit too short for you. You know my height afterall." I laughed.

Then I got another text message.

*Taeyeon ah. Yoona broke up with me... what should I do? Move on? Or try to win her back?*

I texted her back, *She broke up with you... You didn't break up with her. Move on, dude.*

*How am I supposed to move on when I've loved her since forever?!* she texted back.

*At least you've had her since the forever. Move on. For all you know, someone else might be madly in love with you.* I texted back again. 

*Who?*

*Find out yourself* I closed my phone, not wanting to read anymore texts.

"Who was the one who kept texting you?" Fany asked.

"Your soon-to-be girlfriend." I joked.

"Yah..." she hit me teasingly.

I chuckled.

"Treat this place as your own. If you want, you can play video games. It's on the bottom shelf." I pointed to the rack next to the television.

"I doubt I'd have time to play." she said, "I have work afterall."

"You tell me the debtors know your house and you still want to go to work? No. Stay here."

"I feel bad imposing though."

"I'll call Yuri over." I raised an eyebrow.

"You know what? I think going to work is a bad idea afterall."

I laughed, "Yuri always makes everything better huh?" I asked.

"Of course, she's the best you know?"

I nodded, "I know," as I faked a smile.

I'm never the best.

I was never loved.

Why? When I want something, Yuri gets it.

I don't understand.

Why am I so different?

Like how I wanted that new toy so badly, my parents just refused to buy it for me, but Yuri got it automatically even though my family is richer than hers.

And now... I want her, but she belongs to Yuri.

If she would just love me... how glad I'd be...

Tiffany's POV

~The Next Day~

Taetae just went out...

And Yuri is coming! 

*DING DONG*

I opened the door and found my prince at the door.

"Hey, Fany." she smiled.

I invited her in.

"So, why did you suddenly come to Taeyeon's place?"

"Oh... uhh, I want a break from everything. I'm afraid my friends would find me at my house and all."

"And I'm allowed?"

"Well, you are one of my closest friends afterall."

She nodded.

Nobody knew about the whole debtors thing except for Taeyeon and myself.

"So, let's play video games!" 

We sat down and played Video games for the whole day.

After a fun day with Yuri, Taetae came back.

Taeyeon's POV

"Hey guys! I'm back, and I bought dinner!"

"Oh, then I should get going." Yuri stood up.

"Nah! I bought your share too! And we should play our ranking games again." I smiled.

"Then be prepared to lose, Kim Taeyeon!"

I smirked, "Let's see about that!"

When Tiffany went to prepare the dinner and all, I played a game with Yuri.

"Taeyeon, I think... I feel something for Tiffany."

I smiled, "Is that so? Then court her."

"But isn't it too soon? I just broke up with Yoona..."

"Going on "dates" isn't too soon." I smiled.

Yuri smiled, "I wonder why you haven't got a girl. You're romantic and everything a girl wants. I wonder why you reject them..."

"Cause I can't get over my first love." I smiled bitterly.

"Like you said, you should let go."  Yuri looked at me.

"Letting go isn't as easy as I say it is. Letting go is not thinking about them, not loving them anymore. I can't do that." I sighed, "Anyway, this isn't about me. It's about you."

"I don't know... would she be comfortable?" 

I smiled, "We'll see."

~Months Later~

Yuri and Tiffany are officially together, and I'm back to being my workaholic self.

Tiffany seems to enjoy staying at my place, and ocassionally goes out on dates with Yuri, thankfully not getting caught by the debtors. 

*Taeyeon unnie, I miss Yuri unnie. But she seems so happy with Tiffany unnie... what should I do? I still love Yuri unnie though...*

I sighed, replying *Yoona, Yuri won't always be there for you. Next time, think before doing anything alright?*

~The Next Week~

"Yah! Kim Taeyeon! Why would you tell Yuri that?!" Tiffany shouted at me.

"..."

"What if Yuri chooses Yoona instead huh?! What are you going to do then?!" she continued.

"..."

"Are you just going to sit there and say nothing? Be useful at least!" again, she shouted.

"Fany, I..."

"Ugh! Can't you be more sensible?! I thought you were smarter than that!"

"But Fany, I..." 

"You're so annoying! I hate you!"

I didn't even want to say anything anymore.

She wouldn't listen to me.

I'd only tell Yuri that if I know she'd choose you for sure.

I'm not stupid...

If only you'd know...

I smiled slightly, "Hate me..." I nodded, "It's not like I've ever been liked before..." I muttered.

I waited until she walked out to go on her date with Yuri.

"It's always like that. Why can't I be like Yuri? Have so many girls falling in love with me, being loved by everyone..." I sighed, "My parents never loved me... Money... always money. And now... even her... Yuri... it'll always be Yuri..." I cried.

"No matter what I do, I'll never be the one. Never..."

I walked to work.

On the way there, I saw Sica.

"Hey, Taeng. You seem down."

"I'm fine..." I smiled slightly.

Sica looked at me worriedly.

I just smiled at her, before going to work.

~After Work~

*I'm going to be on a date with Yuri. Just wanted to let you know.*

"So... she wouldn't be at home..." I smiled.

I was walking home, when I saw some big sized guys at the entrance.

I hid behind a wall, before trying to call Tiffany.

I dialled her phone number.

"Hello! I'm currently busy, please leave a message!"

I sighed, before putting down the phone.

I took a glass bottle I found on the floor.

With that, I walked forward to the gangsters and fought them...

If I die protecting you, I don't mind... If I die, knowing that you'll be happy, I'll be happy...
