Chapter 39

Lay’s POV:

One week left before the concert so we have to practice.

We have a solo practice and collaboration practice today so we begin our practice early.

Our manager is watching, he will be the one to judge if we’re okay or not. Until we make it perfect we will not take a rest.

“Come on guys, we have to perfect this. Even one mistake is not allowed”, our manager said and turned off the music

“Mianhae”, we said in unison and bowed

“Let’s start from the beginning, again”,

We are practicing for almost 3 hours without taking a rest.

I can feel my body starting to give up, my throat is begging for water.

My late knee injury is starting to hurt again.

Don’t give up, just a little bit more

We end the dance perfectly.

“Better, take your rest now. I’ll go out but I’ll be back for 30 minutes then well practice again”, he went out of the room

I drink some water and sat in floor leaning my back in the wall.

I closed my eyes, not minding the sweats in my face and wet shirt.

“Everyone, change your wet shirt before you get cough or cold”, I hear Kris reminding us

I want to get up but my knee can’t handle it, it’s like bleeding inside.

Am I sick again

I just have to go to sleep to forget the pain.

Kei’s POV:

“Is that the EXO’s manager?” Aeri asked while pointing the man in a white shirt, waiting for the elevator to open.

“Yeah”, Rihan said

We went towards him and greeted

“Annyeonghaseyo”

“Annyeonghaseyo” he greeted

“Did the R.O.X already arrive already?” Yuri asked

“They are still not here. EXO is having their solo practice. The schedule for the collaboration practice is 10, right?”

“Deh, so we’re early?” Yuri asked

“Deh but will just wait for R.O.X then let’s start the collaboration”,

“Arasseo”,

“So, how’s the practice?” Yuri asked

“It’s good; they are just having 30 minutes break then practice again”,

“I see”, Yuri said then the elevator opened

We all entered, EXO’s manager pressed the third floor

I’m excited to see Lay again

I unconsciously smiled.

“What’s up with that smiled?” LyanI asked and nudge me using her elbow

I snapped out of it

“Nothing”,

“I think she’s thinking about Lay”, Rihan teased

“Ani”, I defensively said

“Ehh…”, Rihan and Aeri continued teasing

“Stop it already”, Yuri said with an annoyed face

I stuck my tongue out, satisfied.

I immediately searched for Lay when I entered the room.

I saw him sitting in the corner leaning his back against the wall.

I went towards him.

“Hey”, I called

He didn’t answer nor open his eyes.

“Hey”, I called again

But then again, didn’t receive any response.

Is he really sleeping?

“Lay wake up”, I slightly moved his body

But still there was no response.

I hold his fore head to check if he has a cold.

“OMG…Lay you’re so hot”,

“Lay?” I tried to wake him up

He slightly opened his eyes

“Ke-Kei”, he called in a weak tone

“You’re to be fine ok? Hang on”, I said and stood up

“Lay has fever”, I informed

They all looked at me.

“What did you say?” Suho asked

“Lay have a fever, we need to bring him in the hospital”,

“Jinjja?” Sehun said with an ‘unbelievable’ face

EXO’s manager went to Lay to check it.

“Kris help Lay stand, I’ll go get the car. I’ll wait in the entrance door”, EXO’s manager said and hurriedly went out the room

“Tao help me here”, Kris said

“Hey Lay? Can you stand?” Kris asked

“My left knee hurts”,  

“Ok”

They let Lay stand slowly. Lay’s left arm is in Tao’s shoulder while the other is in Kris.

“Ok, let’s go”, Kris said

Lay groaned every time he step his left foot.

Suho opened the door for them.

“Okay everyone, let’s go back to practice”, Suho said and closed the door.

“But, can I go…” Yuri cut me off

“I know you’re worried but we have to practice”,

I was about to react again when she spoke.

“The concert is near”, she reminded

“Okay, mianhae”, I said and looked down

I hope you’re okay. Get well soon

“The R.O.X leader texted me, they have guesting today so they can’t practice, so let’s just start”, Suho informed

Lunch time

“Everyone, what do you want for lunch?” Suho asked

“Ddubok…” Xiumin was cut off when our manager entered (A.I.A’s manager)

“Hi everyone, I brought some fried chicken for lunch”,

“I also love chicken”, Xiumin went towards our manager to get the chickens

We finished eating lunch when the door opened

Changmin from TVXQ entered.

“Annyeonghaseyo”, he greeted

“Annyeonghaseyo”, we replied

“What can we do for you?” our manager asked

Kris and Tao aren’t back yet. I wonder how Lay is now

I was thinking about Lay, not noticing that our manager is talking to me.

“Kei”, Rihan called

I snapped out of it

“Huh?”

“Our manager is talking to you”, she said and pointed our manager

Why do I always day dreaming? Or out of the world?

“When do you want to start practicing?” our manager asked

Practice? I don’t understand, I’m already practicing

“Uhmm… Now?”

“Ok, let’s go”, Changmin said with a smile

“Huh? Where?”

He went towards me and snatched
