Without Your Love, I Would Die
{ A DaeSica One-Shot }
It was too awkward to breathe.
What happened? What happened between me and her?
What happened to us 3 years ago? Did we get bored of each other?
We're in my car, I'm drving her home after our date.
Our first date in 3 months.
I took her out on a date but she kept quiet the whole time I was talking.
Now we're in my car while I'm driving, she wore this weird expression on her face.
"Daesung... Pull over." She said.
"Pull over?" I asked her.
She nodded.
"But-"
"Just please, pull over." She said.
I did what she said and we kept quiet.
"Daesung.... Look...." She started talking.
I know what she's going to say. But I refuse to believe it.
"We haven't talked in a while right now... And I've been trying to find the answer. I bet you are too. Look, I don't think..."
Please Jessica, don't.
"Things are working out for us right now... " She said.
I kept quiet.
"So.." I asked her.
"Let's um..." A teardrop fell on her right cheek.
I knew what she was going to say.
I reached out for my pocket and grabbed something from inside.
I took it out before she could say those three words.
Not those three words.
The other three words.
Painful, stabbed-by-a-dagger words.
"Let's break up" She said.
"Let's break up Daesung-ah.." She cried.
I placed the note on her right hand.
She responded with grabbing the note from me.
"I love you Jessica" I smiled while tearing up a bit.
She gave me a confused look. "But-"
I woke up by the sound of beeps all around me.
My eyes fluttered open and I found myself in a white room and I was wearing a hospital gown thingy.
Wait. Why was I here?
I immediately turned around and saw some nurses treating the other patient beside me.
"He's dying!!" A nurse said.
"No!" A man said. Probably the doctor.
"Please please!!" Another nurse said.
Beeeeeeeeeep I heard.
Well that was obvious. He died.
But who is he?
I could finally see who the man was after several minutes when the nurses and a doctor walked out of the room.
It was my boyfriend.
Or let's just say, my ex-boyfriend whom I broke up a while ago.
He died?
How?
I was screaming his name out loud while tears were overflowing in my eyes.
I heard a door opened immediately.
"Miss Jung." She said.
"What?!??" I screamed at her while crying.
"Calm down..." She said.
I stopped shouting and screaming but my tears were unstoppable.
"I think you don't know what you're doing here but I'm gonna explain everything to you. Your car or– Daesung-ssi's car was hit by a drunk driver and.... Only you made it. I'm very sorry Daesung-ssi couldn't make it..." She said while handing me a crooked note.
"The researchers found this, in your hands when they were investigating your accident. And I believe that this is for you." She smiled.
I sat up and grabbed it.
It was the note. The note that he gave me just before the accident.
The nurse walked away and closed the door shut.
I looked at Daesung who was lying on his bed which looked like he was sleeping.
I wished he was.
Should I read this Daesung? I asked him.
I wish I could just stand up and sit beside him but wires were everywhere connected to me.
I think I know that Daesung would want me to open this... I mean, why would he give it to me then?
I've hurt him. Right before he died.
I lived and what about him? He died.
Right after I broke up with him.
Was it because of me?? I asked him to pull over in the middle of the highway and told him that we're over.
I killed him.
I'm standing here, all alone, with my umbrella protecting me from the rain, in front of him.
I decided to read the note that I have been carrying around for 2 days.
Without your love, I would die.
I love you Jessica Jung Sooyeon.
