After uncovering the truth about Baekhyun - although he didn't completely believe it - Chanyeol's condition took a turn for the worst. Except for Suho, the others all had soulmates, and to be truthful, Suho didn't really seemed bothered by this. Chanyeol began to lose his grip on reality. HIs eyes played cruel tricks on him, his thirst rapidly spun out of control - he couldn't control his mind anymore, he couldn't control anything anymore. Suho and Kris even had to hold him down and force him to drink; which was the only thing keeping alive. The only thing preventing him from taking his own life was the tiny possibility that Baekhyun was real; alive.

6 days after the incident causing Chanyeol's condition to worsen, humans began to vanish. Kai, Luhan, D.O., Chanyeol and Suho were called out on missions at least once and day. Humans were being abducted, tortured, and abandoned. Kris and Tao (since his power had not yet been discovered) spent most of their time attempting to find out who (or what) was behind the sudden increase in the crime rate, whilst the rest of their coven invested their time in training their abilities. Lay had his work cut out, healing all the humans they managed to rescue - sadly, they were not able to save every one of them.

Luhan materialised in a dreary room, made entirely of concrete, with Jongin. This was the same room that had driven Chanyeol insane - the room in which he met Baekhyun. Wasting no time, Luhan forced open the chains that held a younger man to one of the walls. This was the human that had replaced Chanyeol. Jongin held onto both Luhan and the human, who's name was Chen (also known as Jongdae) and teleported the 3 of them back to their house, for Yixing to heal him.

Lay quickly ran his hands over Jongdae's wounds, which immediately dissapeared. Wu Fan, who had been working with Zitao to find out who was causing the dissapearances, announced that, according to the internet, they were responsible. It wasn't true, they knew it, but nobody else did.

Yixing awoke, 17 nights later, to find Luhan next to him. Xiumin was no where to be seen, and neither was Sehun. Luhan was lying on the cold concrete floor, an extensive tear in his skin stretched diagonally from one side of his face to the other. Lay was sat - propped up against a wall - coss-legged, with a spiked collar around his neck (and from that, a silver chain elongated itself across the floor, and attached itself to a tall post.) He was too far away from Luhan to wake him up. "Luhan. Luhan!" Instead, he attempted to awake him verbally.

After several minutes of this, Luhan finally awoke. Lay couldn't heal him without being closer too him, and - understanding this - Luhan bolted towards him, and consequently collided violenty with a large sheet of transparent glass, which seperated him and Yixing.

Even though he wasn't Luhan's soulmate, shock and worry rippled through Lay's body as he watched Luhan's tender body sprawl across the harsh, bitter surface. All he could do, was watch.

Everyone except for Suho and Sehun left the house and as a search party for Luhan and Lay - Kris insisted that as he was still human, Sehun couldn't go with them. Chanyeol agreed to go - not because he was particularly attached to either Luhan or Yixing, although he cared for them - because he knew how hard it was to lose someone you loved (whether they exist or not.) Suho had stayed behind to look after Sehun and Chen - who, having no family to go back to, was staying with them until he managed to find a more suitable dwelling.

Sehun knew that Jongdae liked Suho, and that Suho cared for him a lot (but then again, Suho cared for everyone a lot - it was in his nature.)

Suho was sitting next to Chen on one of the sofas in the living room - which is where Chen had been sleeping - when Sehun swallowed a mouthful of bubble tea amd called from the kitchen "I'm going to bed now, hyungs!" He then added, with a muted giggle "Don't stay up too late, Chen!"

"What was that about?" Suho asked Jongdae, once Sehun had retired to his room.

"How am I supposed to know?!" Chen spluttered, answering a little too quickly.

Suho exhaled deeply, and took hold of the human's hand. The serene stillness in Suho's eyes steadied him. "If you like me, just tell me. It's ok, you know."

"I..." Before he could finish, Suho captured his lips in a nectarous, halcyon kiss. It was several minutes before either of them broke the kiss. Jongdae paused for breath, before the older male pushed him down - so that he was lying flat on his back - and began to plant kisses on his jawline, trailing down to nibble on his neck. Chen reached up to envelop Suho's mouth in a kiss; overwhelmed with relish, the vampire moaned into the kiss, desiring more.

8 hours later, Chen awoke, caged by Suho's strong arms. He nestled in his arms, wishing for the moment to last forever.
