The hot lights shine down onto the stage. The audience waits in silent anticipation. The music begins and Jongin lifts off. A pirouette here and an arabesque there, he dances across the stage like a moving shadow. More dancers flow out onto the stage, but the spotlight focuses on Jongin. The audience is merely a sea of darkness. The music is in perfect harmony, guiding Jongin’s graceful steps. The entire stage is his. The wooden panels glow under the spotlight and his steps make no noise. When the last note is played, the audience erupts into a round of applause. Jongin stares into the crowd, breathing hard, sweat glistening under the harsh lights. The lights start to dim, and everyone starts to gather off stage. Jongin smiles, and walks off the stage slowly, his eyes still trained on the crowd. After years of hard work, the spotlight was finally his, and it felt amazing.
