Krystal Jung?   It takes Se Hun a moment to register in his mind that Krystal Jung is really standing before him.   Krystal Jung, the athlete of the school. The hoobae of his older brother, who was the Captain of Athletics last year before he graduated. The hoobae his brother had a huge, massive, gigantic crush on. The girl currently dating Myung Soo Kim, the soccer boy.   How? Why? She is in a relationship!   But hey, he was also in a relationship.   Things are getting weirder and weirder for Se Hun, and more complicated too.   Krystal and Se Hun share the same English and Physics classes, but they rarely talk to each other, given that Krystal stays with Ji Young Kang and Se Hun with Jong In Kim, otherwise known as Kai by the other students.   Se Hun's mind, which has been more at peace since he accepted this whole arranged marriage idea-for his parents- has now become a lump of webbed thread.   "Mum, is the Jung Soo Jung you you were talking about the Krystal Jung from our school?" he hears his brother, Ji Hoon, asking.   "Yes, Ji Hoon! I've told you they attend the same school! God, do you ever listen?" their mother  exasperatedly sighs before another thought makes he grin widely, "She will be your sister-in-law."   Oh no, Mum! Dad!   Why?   Why are you doing this to me?   Se Hun gulps and looks away as he feels his brother boring him with you-are-so-death-how-could-you-do-this-to-me glare. Except, he makes the mistake of locking gaze with Krystal. Questions are seen there. She obviously wonders why it's Se Hun out of all people. He was in a relationship, for Pete's sake; a steady, happy relationship.   The bitterness of the fact stabs his heart and it takes all willpower to distract him from a certain girl he has been occupying his mind for the past three years.   Ji Hoon keeps surprisingly quiet, instead of nag like he usually would. Probably because of the fact that he is now dating Jia, the Chinese exchange student from his university--something about "love at first sight".   But that's not the reason why his parents chose him to be the groom of this marriage. Se Hun and Amber have been in a relationship longer than his brother and Jia have, by a few months, to be precise.   The main reason is because his brother has no interest in their parents' business whatsoever and, quoting his parents, "He is useless." All he does is play around and get on their parents' nerves. Nonetheless, Se Hun begs to differ, although he'd never voice it out to his parents. His brother is leading his own life; he is doing what he wants. Unlike him, Se Hun never talks back to their parents and would always concede to whatever Mum and Dad have in mind. It is also without question that he'd be the one taking over the family business. There has been never a second in his life to doubt that he wouldn't be ever since Ji Hoon's rebellion showed up at the age of thirteen. And Se Hun just doesn't know life otherwise.   Amber has been the only part of his life that he actually decided upon, fought for, and was so confident in. He has matured because of her.   That's what he thought.   Now, he feels like a hypocrite. When he was told of how bad his father's company had fallen, he didn't have the heart to say no to their proposal, especially with how dejected and worn out and old his parents looked. It's just too cruel.   And just like that, he chose his parents over Amber Josephine Liu.   When dinner starts, he pushes away the image of Amber's smile and instead, as he tries to to ignore his brother's stare, he fills his eye scope with Krystal Jung. Dinner goes uneventfully, if you ignore the looks the parents give as Krystal and Se Hun tries to act normal and converses about school and exam. Both are trying to think of it as dinner between two family friends and not families-to-be. At first, he is too tongue-tied to initiate a conversation. But his brother, who manages to control himself, begins to ask Krystal questions about the athletic club and whether she'd be signing up to be Captain next year. To which, Krystal replies yes. As if the athlete of the school won't apply for it, Se Hun muses in his mind as the conversation continues. Throughout the middle, he starts to participate and ends up talking to Krystal more than he ever had at school.   As the eating ensues, optimism grows in Se Hun. He considers that Krystal must be in the same situation as he is and maybe, the getting-to-know and their future life won't be so dark like he has been imagining.   And maybe if he is lucky, they'd figure out a way out of this mess and they could return to their previous partners.   Because who are we kidding? The whole school knows it was Krystal who made advances towards Myung Soo Kim; it was Krystal who boldly declared to the whole entire world and managed to knock Suzy Ba
