It was about 2 o’clock in the morning when Hyorin ran into the recording studio. She closed the door and sat on the floor bursting in tears. She didn’t even bother to turn on the lights. That day SISTAR were recording their new songs, but Hyorin didn’t feel well, and her voice sounded terrible.

“Why? Why me? Why am I here? My dream was to become a singer but now that it’s real, I don’t feel like it’s the right thing for me” she whispered to herself, “I know at least ten people who are more talented than me, who are prettier than me, with better dancing skills. Why did they choose me?”

Someone walked into the room and the lights. It was Jay Park.

 Hyorin was a bit confused; it was 2am after all. What was he doing here at this time of the night? She wiped away the tears, she’d just cried, and stood up in attempt to hide her face. She didn’t want Jay to notice her red eyes.

“Hyorin-ah?” Jay said, “Is everything okay? Did something happen to you?”

“No, no…” said Hyorin, with a low voice as she was trying to make it seem like everything was fine.

“Won’t you tell me what’s going on?” Jay asked as he got closer to her, “Maybe I could help you.”

Hyorin looked him in the eye, looked away, looked him in the eye again, and hugged him. Just like that. It was the only thing she needed right now. She didn’t want to explain what was going on. She didn’t want to talk at all. The only thing she wanted was for Jay to hold her for a while so she could forget about everything, even if it’s just for a moment.

Jay was a bit shocked. He didn’t know what to do at this moment, but when Hyorin started crying aloud, he just hugged her tighter without saying a word. 

 

They were still hugging after a few minutes, but when Bora ran into the studio, they had to let go. At that time, Hyorin was already feeling better and she wasn’t crying anymore.

“Unni, what are you doing here?” Hyorin said as she was trying to get away from Jay’s body.

“I’ve been looking for you.” Bora said with a high-pitched voice, then looked at Jay with a smile, “Oppa, I see you are here too. I haven’t seen you in a while.”

One of the things Hyorin loved the most about Bora was how careless she was. She knew that her unni wouldn’t tell anyone what she saw. Bora was the only one who knew about her crush on Jay and never said a thing to anyone.

“Y-yeah…”  Jay said all blushed and nervous, “Ho-how are you?”

“Ahh oppa, you always so nice and polite. Thanks for taking care of Hyorin, but I will take it from here.” Said Bora and smiled at him again, “Hyorin, the girls are worried about you. Maybe it’s time for you to come back to the dorms, huh?”

“Yeah,” Hyorin smiled for the first time tonight and it made Jay’s heart skip a beat, “Kamsamnida  oppa. I’ll see you around. Bye”

When Bora and Hyorin left the studio, Jay collapsed on the couch, “Ma Hyorin…” he smiled, “One day I will make you happier than you’ve ever been, but now I should finish what I came here for.”

Two minutes later Jay Park left the recording studio smiling.
