Plot Twists
Making Mistakes the Right Way {a writing tip thread}This is answering blythe_star's suggestion. I hope it helps!
What makes a fanfiction great and worth the read? There are many elements to make a good fanfiction, but you NEED plot twists, especially if your fanfiction is angst. You need the readers to anticipate the next chapter, or they'll simply stop reading. I'm not the best at plot twists either, but try to incooperate small twists at the end of the chapter (cliff-hangers). But it's really a pain when you, as a reader, has to wait for like five million years for the author to update another chapter. It most of the time. It's not that hard to have a plot twist, especially when it's minor. But most major plot twists occur near the end of the story, which is another term for "" of a story. No, not what you were thinking, you y readers :P LOL, sorry, I brought that upon you. :P But yes, plot twists are essential for a good story. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask, okay?
