Sooyoung frowned as she quickly browsed through the documents, flipping through the paper rapidly before coming to a stop.

"Well, there's a like three of them Sica"
"Why do you need it?"

Jessica ignored the question and grabbed the documents over.

"It's just something i need to confirm"

Why is it that im hoping that the fact of appa being alive ain't true?
Or partly ain't true, and partly it is.

I really cannot picture it if this is all done by my appa.
Appa has always been the smartest of the smartest i've ever seen.
But..

Appa, please don't let this be true.

Jessica carefully flipped through the documents, reading it page by page.
Trying her best not to miss out any single word of the information stated in the document.

"What is so important about this Sica?"

"It is an important lead to the case"

Jessica replied, eyes not moving away from the documents.
Fingers were even on it, tracing every sentence and word on the document.

"How so?"
"It is like, you can simply get to the them and ask them out"
"There is only like three that fits your criteria"

Sooyoung suggested with a shrug as she casually stole a packet of snickers from Yoona's bag while she was sleeping on Jessica's bed in the office.

"Soo, stop snacking on Yoona's snack"
"She's going to kill you once she's awake and to find her favourite snack missing"

Sooyoung chuckled and waved Jessica off.

"Our relationship is more than a chocolate bar, im sure of it"

Jessica rolled her eyes with a smile.

"I hope so Soo"
"Lets just not put our hopes too high"

Jessica knew it for sure, the two shikshin despite their relationship,
food has always been the topic that caused their lovey quarrels in the office causing laughters to people around them.

"Soo, im going to visit this company the first thing when the sun rises"
"Which is also, as soon as they are open for business"

"Can you tell me how is it related?"

Sooyoung asked curiously as she took the file from Jessica and took a quick look at the page Jessica was looking at.

"I just hope that what im thinking ain't true Soo"
"I can't bring myself to tell it to you.."

"Why?"
"Is it related to you?"

"You can say so.."
"Soo, do you know why there are so few number of business of this line?"

Sooyoung shrugged with a second chocolate bar in her hands.
Jessica took her palm and slapped it right into her own face.

"SOO!"
"Im going to tell Yoona to lock all her chocolate bars up!"
"LOOK AT YOUR MOUTH!"
"At least clean it, will you?!"

[SOOYOUNG'S POV]
These chocolate bars are delicious!
Im gonna buy a few dozens and lock it up before Yoona finds it.

HAHA.
Oh gosh, i should be worrying for the case.
I mean, i can take a break right?

Sooyoung quickly took a tissue and wiped over and over again before throwing Jessica a cute apologetic smile.

"Im sure they are all gone now"
"Right?"
"So, can our greatest forensic scientist continue with where she had stopped?"

"Gosh, Soo"
"Your snacking habits are turning me off"

"Okay fine"
"Im sorry alright?!"
"I just happen to find this so addictive that i can't stop eating!"

Jessica sighed, plopping back down onto her seat.

"These businesses requires real skills"
"Needs a lot of money to produce quality work too"
"In order for the business to thrive, they need valuable customers to stay long with them"

"But i mean, just papers Sica"
"Why would someone buy and to write on it?"

"Because it is unique i guess?"

"Buy for the uniqueness and throws it away after writing?"
"Who would be so dumb to have done that?"
"Too much money, isn't it?"

"My dad"

Jessica replied coldly as she rested her head onto the cool glass table.
Sooyoung gasped with her palm covering .

"Sorry"

"Its okay"
"I don't know why did he do that do.."
"But the papers are really of the top quality where you can never find"
"Nice to touch, with really pretty and customizable watermark on it"

"But Sica, can i ask you something?"

"Sure"

"I didn't know you were rich to start with!"
"I thought you were adopted?"

"Seriously Soo?"

"Well you said i could ask"

Sooyoung replied with a pout.

"Why are you so curious of my past?"
"To sympathise me?"
"Or to mock at me?"

Jessica asked, annoyed and upset as she recalled of her past.

"What?!"
"I didn't mean any of that!"
"How could you think of that of me Sica!"
"I thought we've always been best of friends!"

"..."

"Fine!"
"Continue with your sudden burst out!"
"Go ahead and act all aloof"
"Im just being concerned alright?!"

Sooyoung rebutted angrily as she roughly pulled Yoona up from Jessica's bed and dragged her out of Jessica's office, half-awakedly.
Right after Sooyoung slammed the door shut, Jessica grabbed onto her head frustratedly, slamming her first onto the table.

What was i doing?!
JUNG SOOYEON!

She was just being concerned about you!
Do you have to be that sacarstic even though you always hated to bring up your past?!

At least, reject her nicely, won't you?!

"Why am i so.."

Jessica mumbled to her, upset with herself as she sat inside her car,
outside the company building - 'Papers of Oddity'

"I should just apologise to Soo later.."

Jessica let out a frustrated sigh, waiting for the sun to rise while popping a cough drop into .

"Tiff, have you been eating well?"
"I miss you.."
"Please, stay healthy and happy alright?"

Time slowly ticked past as she waited patiently in the car, trying to keep her eyes open wide.
I mean, afterall, she haven't been sleeping much recently.

The girl whom she love deeply has been pushed away from her.
And its not just a few metres but miles away.
A lot of things has been running through her mind too.

Just as she was about to doze off, her phone alarm rang.
Picking it up, it was time for the company to open.

Workers were all slowly entering the company as Jessica drove into their carpark.
Quickly parking her car, she went into the building and requested for a short talk with the CEO of the company.

She was initially denied since she did not make any appointment beforehand.
But as soon as she brought her identity card out as a forensic scientist working hand in hand with the police,
she was immediately brought up to the office.

Sitting by the sofa, Jessica observed the room silently.
But everything felt so familiar in there.

She just had a sense of familiarity in it, not knowing why herself either.
The homey feeling in it.

Just then, the door slot opened with a familiar guy in his early fifties or late forties which Jessica couldn't exactly point out.
Her eyes widened in shock at the figure standing infront of him.

"Hello?"

The man in suit called out as he waved his hands infront of Jessica's face.
Jessica stood there in shock for a moment before returning to her own self.

"Uncle Raekwon?"

"Huh..?"
"Who are you..?"

The man asked in confusion as he scratched his head with a frown.
Observing Jessica from top to toe for a short moment.

"Sooyeon?"
"That little princess of Jung?"

Jessica nodded with a bow, smiling a little.

"Oh!"
"Its been so long"
"How've you been?"
"Im sorry for the departure of your family members"
"Leaving you alone in this cold world Sooyeon"

Jessica let out a forced laugh nodding her head as Raekwon offered her a seat.

"Probably the worst that i could have ever asked for"
"But i've grown accustomed to all these i guess"
"Its just that, i still misses them at times"

"Im sorry to hear that"

"Its okay"
"I will still live through it"

Jessica replied with a forced sad smile.

"Im sure you will"
"I see you've grown up so much, being such a successful person"
"In your career, there seemed to be bright sparks in it"
"Isn't it so?"

Raekwon teased with a chuckle.

"It was what i like"
"But it has now turned meaningless to me since everyone left me"

"Im sure you'll find another reason to continue on again"
"With passion of course Sooyeon"
"I've once heard from your dad that you're not someone who gives up easily"
"Don't you?"

"He did mention that about me?"

"Of course he did"
"He loved you and your sister dearly"
"Showing you two off to me every single time we met"
"I even told him off once for telling me so much about you two!"

Raekwon recalled as he shook his head with a laugh at his deceased best friend's words.
How proud he was at his kids.

"Appa had always been loving us so dearly"
"Even writing us excuse letters from school to bring us to amusement parks"

Jessica agreed with a sad smile as her eyes turned red.

"Im sorry to have brought you those sad memories up Sooyeon"
"So, i'll say, reminiscing memories aside"
"What brings you here?"

"Oh, i needed some help in a new case"

Jessica said as she pushed a photo infront of Raekwon.

"Have you seen this paper before?"
"It looked familiar to me"
"Lik what appa used to have"

Raekwon froze, as his eyes were stuck on the photo.

"Oh err"
"Im pretty sure"
"Err i've not seen it before"
"It shouldn't be from us"
"Such paper are available all around the places"
"Anyone who makes custom papers are able to produce such grades"

"Are you sure uncle Raekwon?"
"Because there are only a few who possesses real skills to have such quality papers"
"And you're one of them"

"Just coincidence Sooyeon"
"If you don't have anything else"
"You might wanna leave soon since i've a meeting in 5 minutes time"

Raekwon said nervously as he took a quick glance at his watch before grabbing onto the files on his table randomly.
His secretary then came in to Jessica out.

"Thanks uncle Raekwon"
"You've been of a great help"
"It has been nice meeting and talking to you"
"I'll visit you soon"

Jessica replied politely with a bow before leaving the office with his secretary.

There must be something wrong with uncle Raekwon.
There must be..

All these are adding onto my suspicions..
Please, don't let it be true.

Thank goodness i've placed a hearing device at a hidden corner of his desk.
Please prove me wrong.

I don't wish to nab my own family members whom i've thought had left me.

After leaving the company building, Jessica quickly got back to her car and drove off,
while switching on the hearing device she had pre-planted at a hidden corner of Raekwon's desk.

"What should we do?!"
"You should stop all your crazy idea"
"The cops have found me"
"You being busted won't be long!"

"..."

"I can't!"
"I don't want to hurt her!"

"..."

"Why are you doing this to me..?"

Raekwon's voice were shaky and fearful at the opposing caller.

"..."

"I'll do it"
"Just please, don't hurt my family members"
"I'll do it for you"
"Just please, don't hurt anyone"
"We were once best of friends"
"Please"

"..."

"I'll call you again once im done"

Who was he talking to..?
Uncle Raekwon is being threatened.
Is that why he didn't speak the truth to me just now?

Jessica then drove through to a nearby Lotte mart beside her workplace.
Going straight into the mart, Jessica went to the cashier right away.

"Welcome to Lotte"
"How can we help you miss?"

"Oh, can i have a box of Lotte Chocopies, chocolate bars and.."
"Let me take a quick look"

Jessica glanced around and turned back with a smile.

"Pepperos too please"

The cashier threw her a weird look.

"Are you sure?"
"There's a lot in a whole box"

"Yup, im sure"
"Oh, do you do delivery too?"
"Im willing to pay"

"Delivery?"

"Yup, like overseas"
"And locally too"
"But what i've currently ordered, i'll just bring it with me"

"We do deliveries"
"As for overseas, we'll have to pass it over to couriers"

"Oh, okay"
"Then can you please take down my orders?"

"Sure, give me a moment while i get the order sheet"

The cashier replied with a smile before returning within minutes with a stack of paper in her hand, as well as a cute bobby pen.

"Okay, so what do you need?"

"For the first order, can you please send it to Faith Orphanage?"
"It's gonna be Children's Day soon"

Jessica explained with a smile.
Jessica used to visit the orphanage she grew up in after the departure of her biological family members at every occassion whenever she is free.
But now, because of this case, it seemed like she couldn't visit.
Especially during Children's Day where the kids would be waiting for her.

"Oh sure"
"You've a really kind heart"

"Its just something little to warm the young hearts and souls up"
"So, can you just get three boxes of chocopies, pepperos, chips and lollypops each"
"Oh and, 200kg of rice bags too"

"Sure, just give me a moment"

The cashier quickly had Jessica's first order jotted down in the order sheet before going onto the second one.

"Im done"
"Anymore?"

"Yup, two more"
"One local and another overseas"
"For this, its local delivery"

"Okay"
"Address?"

"112 Gyeongsangnam-do"
"Receiver: Omma Yoon"

"Okay"
"Order?"

"50 kg of rice bags, 1 dozen of ginseng candies, 2 dozen of chicken essence"
"And.."
"Probably 1 box of ramen and kimchi"
"Oh, and 12 kg of beef, 5 kg each of chicken and pork too"
"Have you gotten them down?"

"Just a moment"

"Sure"

"Done"
"Anymore?"

"Oh, can you deliver them 4 cartons of milk"
"As well as the finest coffee powder you have in this mart?"

"Sure"
"How many bottles do you need?"

"Does it expire within weeks?"

"It has a lifespan of at least a year"

"In that case, delivery 10 bottles"
"Have you gotten all down?"

Omma, i know i haven't been returning home for sometime.
Its just that the work is getting really tricky right now.

I can't leave because im afraid as soon as i take a break,
everything will turn worse immediately.

I hope all these supplies will last you till im back.
Or at least, it will come in handy in certain situations.

"And now, the last will be sent over to LA, America"

"You mean that famous talented young violinist?"

Jessica nodded with a smile.

"Yup, thats her"

"Oh!"
"Are you very close to her?"
"Im a fan of hers!"
"Really would wish to get her autograph!"

"A fan of hers?"

Jessica laughed, thinking of Tiffany.
That silly pink princess actually has such fans that are head over heels for her.

"Look at this!"
"I've her as my phone wallpaper, photo in my wallet too!"

"Oh, im just her fan too"

Jessica lied with an awkward smile.

"But you can have this"

Jessica said as she passed her a polaroid photo of Tiffany with the violin she had gifted her for Christmas.

"Don't spread it even though there isn't any signature of hers, alright?"
"Not even on any social networking sites"

"WOW!"
"You even took a photo of her?!"
"Im so jealous!"

"Its just pure coincidence"

Jessica replied with a smile.

"You'll have your chance too"
"But can we continue with the orders before i can pay?"
"Im in a rush"

"Oh im so sorry!"
"Lets just continue with where we've stopped"
"What can we get for our violinist?"

The cashier asked with glee, smiles all written all over her face.

"Okay"
"What do you think she will love?"

"I guess pizzas etc since she lives in the state for more than half of her life?"

Jessica shook her head and smiled.

"She's a Korean"
"And she loves Korean snacks"
"Lets just say, i'll send her a box each of chocopies, lollypops, kimchi"

"Chocopies and lollypops"

The cashier replied with a chuckle.

"Why?"

"Those are for kids!"

"Well she is one"

Jessica replied with a laugh.

Im sure you'll love all these.
I hope all these candies and snacks will take your mind off me,
your fatique off from you for practicing much.

"Really?!"

"Yup"
"Okay, let's continue alright?"
"Im really gonna rush off soon"

"Sure, sorry for side tracking"
"Go on"

"Send her a box of ginger tea too"
"As well as vitamins and band aids"
"Those bandaids that will not leave scars alright?"

"Okay"
"1 box each?"

Jessica nodded.

"That should be all"
"Can you total them up for me?"

"Just a moment please"

The cashier quickly punched in all the orders into the machine before printing a whole long chunk of receipt and passed it to Jessica.
Giving it a quick look, Jessica passed the cashier her golden credit card.

Writing a small note and stapled it over the different order list were the notes Jessica wanted the receiver to read.
Right after paying and getting her items, Jessica drove back to her office.

"Hey people"

"Oh unnie!"
"You're here!"
"We've been searching and calling for you like crazy!"

Seohyun exclaimed dramatically as she ran towards Jessica.

"Woah"
"Calm down maknae"
"I need your help"

"Help?"
"But-"

"My help is more important"
"Get your friend-nemy, Hara too"

Hara then came right immediately after hearing Jessica's voice.

"I missed you unnie!"

"Aww"
"Alright, come on and help me carry some stuff from my car"
"I can't carry them up all on my own"

"Sure!"

The two maknaes replied in unison before following Jessica back to the carpark and carried the boxes of snacks up to Sooyoung's empty office.
Putting those snacks down, Hara and Seohyun let out a loud sigh of relief after setting the heavy load down.

"Phew~"

"Where did Soo go?"

"Oh!"
"Thats what we wanted to tell you unnie!"

"Don't tell me.."

"It is a huge thing!"
"Soo-"

"UNNIEEEE!"

Another voice popped into the room as Yoona came running into the room and hugging Jessica tightly with red teary eyes.

"What is wrong Yoona?"
"Where is Soo?"

"She left me!"
"She left right after receiving a phone call!"

"When was it?"

"An hour ago!"

"Why didn't any of you call and tell me?!"
"Whose call was it before that?!"

"We don't know!"
"She looks really flustered and worried as she left!"

Yoona explained panickly, hands moving all around.

"Yoona, calm down"
"Don't worry i'll go look for her"
"Do you have any idea where did she go?"

Yoona shrugged, on the verge of tears.

"Sshh"
"Don't worry, i'll go look for her"
"You stay here and not run out okay?"
"I'll bring her back safely to you"

Jessica assured Yoona with a smile before walking over to Sooyoung's table and observed it for a short moment.

"Hara and Seohyun"
"Are you able to get people to track the phone call that Soo had received an hour ago?"

Hara and Seohyun threw each other a grin.

"Right away"

The two scurried off and returned within 10 minutes with a disc in their hands.
While they were away, Jessica wrote a quick note and had it sticked onto the boxes of snacks.

"Here it is unnie"

Jessica took it over and put it straight into Sooyoung's desktop.

"I want the three of you to leave the room now"

"Why unnie?"

Seohyun asked curiously.

"Just leave, i don't want to get any of you into this matter"
"Get out"

"But its-"

Yoona tried whining but Jessica shot her a cold look.

"I said, get out"
"Its an order"

Yoona rolled her eyes in annoyance before storming off with Hara and Seohyun.
Quickly plugging in the headphones, Jessica listened to the conversation attentively.

"Yoboseyo"
"Inspector Choi imnida"

"Hello there Inspector Choi"

"What do you want?"

"Woah"
"That's straightforward"
"I want you"

"Me?"

Sooyoung mocked sacarstically.

"How do you even plan to get it?"

"Through blackmailing of course"
"I've gotten Jung Jessica in my hands"
"Im sure you know who it is right?"

"Who are you kidding to my friend?"
"How could you have gotten her?"

An evil laughter roared through the phone.

"You don't believe me?"
"Do i need to hurt her and get her to scream in pain to have you believe me?"

"Stop it!"
"Don't hurt her!"
"I'll exchange myself for her!"
"Where are you now?!"
"I'll go there immediately!"

"Come over to the abandoned car junkyard"
"Just you only, are you clear?"
"We've eyes on you"
"If we see anyone apart from you, we'll kill everyone"
"Before you even had your eyes blinked, the bodies will be all around you"
"Thats how fast and cruel we can be"

"Stop it!"
"I'll go!"
"But the junkyard is so huge!"

Jessica slammed the headphones down onto the desk before running off to her car.
On her way out, she grabbed Sooyoung's bulletproof vest and sped off.

How stupid are you Choi Sooyoung?!
That killer is obviously trying to lure you out!

He's obviously coming after me but made it looked like he's after you!
Why can't you think or at least, give me a call!?

You better be alright you fool!
If not im going to be blaming myself for the whole lifetime!

"Hey Fany"
"Are you feeling better?"

Yuri asked casually as she sat beside Tiffany at the balcony of her room, watching the night sky silently,
with a few stars here and there blinking and shining at her every few seconds.

"..."

"Isn't the sky pretty tonight?"

"How is Taeyeon coping in LA?"

Tiffany asked softly, hugging her knees to her chest while Yuri placed a blanket over her.

"Barely surviving"
"She couldn't even speak a proper sentence of English"
"Her Korean accent is too strong for the locals to even understand her"

Yuri answered with a chuckle, recalling how Taeyeon tried to order a set of cheeseburger at a fastfood joint.
The cuteness, dorkiness and silliness of her made Yuri smile.

"It must be my fault that she came here"
"To a such a foreign place.."

"Hey its not your fault Fany"
"Don't start pushing every single fault up to yourself"
"This is just fate and how it got played by the god"
"It's not anyone's fault at all"
"Are you clear?"

"Maybe.."

"Fany-ah, can you please stay strong?"
"It hurts me to see you like this yet i can't do anything to help you feel better"

"Im feeling good Yul"
"You don't have to be worried for me"
"Besides, my musical tour around South America is gonna start soon"
"I have to bring out the best of me"

"Of course you have to"

Yuri responded encouragingly, giving Tiffany's back a warm steady pat.

"Thanks"

Tiffany replied sadly as she turned back to stare at the night sky again.

I really still can't take the fact that you're gone.
That you've left me, and broke up with me.
