A Bright City Light

She is...

Lee Min Ho looked down at the brightly lit capital city in South Korea form his luxury suite hotel window. He enjoyed how busy Seoul's streets looked. There was a single disturbance on the freshly made bed in his room. A script. A script Min Ho had reviewed during his flight from Tokyo to Seoul.

There was a knock coming from the hotel room door, followed by a high pitched squeal, "Oppa!" Min Ho recognized the voice right away. He went over to the door and opened it to reveal a stylish young woman excitingly standing, waiting for him.

"Hye Rim what are you doing here at this hour?" Min Ho's voice lacked conviction, so Hye Rim let herself in, brushing by Min Ho into his hotel room.

"Oppa!" She cried. "Why are you being so mean? You know I can't stand to be away from you for so long." She paused, and turned toward Min Ho. "I just want to celebrate your return to Korea." She pleaded. Her voice had a certain pitch that at this moment annoyed Min Ho.

"I understand, but why are you here so late. It doesn't look good for a young lady like yourself to enter into a man's room at this hour." Min Ho had set down a cup of tea on the coffee table for Hye Rim. She went over to the sofa, and sat with her purse in her lap.

"Why are you so cold Oppa?" Min Ho was silent. Hye Rim sighed. "Of course I came here to bring you your schedule for tomorrow, too." Hye Rim reached into her purse and pulled out an itinerary.

"Thanks, Hye Rim." Min Ho took the itinerary from her. "You should probably go now, before your mom worries any more about you." Min Ho got up form the couch and motioned Hye Rim to the door.

"What's the point of having a father who manages Hallyu stars that are so cute if I don't get to hang out with them?" Hye Rim whined as she walked towards the door. She dragged her feet hoping she could change Min Ho's mind.

"Ok it's time for you to head home kid." He ruffled her hair, as she walked by him to get to the door.

"I'm not a kid anymore." Hye Rim's voice had a twinge of sadness.

"I know." Min Ho replied.

"Bye Oppa." Hye Rim waved goodbye.

"Bye." Min Ho watched as the young girl walked down the hallway till she got into the elevator, He sighed and went back into his hotel room.

The first item on his schedule for tomorrow was a meeting with director Jun Kin Sang. Supposedly tomorrow was the first official read through of the script. Min Ho looked as the title for the hundredth time on the first page of the script.

"My Best Friend." He repeated to himself.
