empty chagrin
electric blue; their tales
EMPTY CHAGRIN
Luhan had known he was born to be an adventurer when he attended the exhibition of Myung Jong In’s extraordinary discoveries. He had travelled around the world, surpassing the boundaries of his country thoroughly through the small intersections and and black alleys of South Korea to South Africa. He devoted his life to explore the world thoroughly. He had said that life is short, and for the world was formed to be explored. It was then he left an unbending legacy when he challenged himself to go through the mythical Bermuda Triangle. Another legacy of a mavellous human being was marked. His dissapearance though, wouldn’t dissapoint himself because he himself had left a mark in this world. A history; a legacy.
And by then, Luhan was eight when he sashayed through the grey pavements infront of colourful houses painted in vivid red, blue, orange, green colours. All was everything but a bunch of colourful gumballs and rainbows.
“ Ay ay Captain! The cannon is fully loaded ! On my mark, one two three, fire! “
Luhan didn’t forsee the moment a girl would be launched to his body from a wrecked house; from a hole that seemed to lead to a cannonball that connected to the house. Luhan was flabbergasted and embarrased for he scurried to get on his feet and dust the dirt from his favourite green overalls. And the girl smiled goofily “ Are you okay?”
He nodded timidly and looked up to her. She appeared very bedraggled with face covered in black smoke and her overalls hung languidly beside her shoulder and as he looked towards her head, she had her hair braided into indian braid and with a pair of googles sat upon her head.
“ Is it because my teeth? I lost the three of them when I was riding on Harley Davidson with my father. But the old man passed away after that, and it was sad. But it is mostly because I lost three of my precious teeths. And two of them have grown out from my gummy in 6 months” she explained and she was having different kind of expressions as she said this. And when her fingers touched the two sparkling white tiny teeths callously, she disgusted him.
“ Anyway, my name is Im Yoona. And I know you won’t accept my handshake because you are a clean-freak and you won’t touch a peasant-looking human like me, but I hope we are friends by now”
Luhan was glad she had said too much yet he had said too less, barely anything. Because without Yoona and her blabbling mouth, the beautiful friendship of them would never begin.
9 years later Luhan had changed and evolved to a man with a dazzling smile with soft brown orbs and brown hair. Yoona said he became a pokemon. But Luhan just could laugh it off because he never really pay attention to her pokemon episodes marathon. And Yoona has sprouted into a well- groomed flower, Jasmine to be specific. Undeniably harmless and puerile. But now they laid a little far from the stars, in a green meadow where the soil gave them its crisp and warm scent; where the meadow formed a curvy ground and they laid at the peak of it. For Luhan it was a little bit frightening, for he felt that the murky blue sky with glued stars was very endless and he could feel that he himself was being devoured by the beautiful nighthole. But for Yoona, it was an unfathomable scene. When she held out her hand to pick and collect the white diamonds and drop it in her pocket, she could only touched thin and empty air. (As she would always do) Yoona would stand up subconsciously, still hand stretched out to the sky, and began to stride towards the sky. Luhan then have to hold her back so she would not p
