The weeks passed and AJ and I worked on our piece as often as possible. We grew a lot closer over those weeks and I found myself opening up to him and acctually holding conversations with him. I also found myself falling for him: falling hard. In these weeks of studying and working together, sittting close side by side at a keyboard fiddling around and hammering out random notes, something had happened. He was no longer AJ from UKISS to me. He was AJ. My friend. My friend that I wanted to be more than friends with. The friend that… I loved. I loved him and that scared me more than anything.

“Ivy!” I looked up from my spot on a bench to see AJ approaching me, hand raised in greeting. I smiled slightly and pushed my hair behind my ear. He grinned and sat down beside me on the bench. “Ah! I  was going over our song again last night and I have to say that I really like the way its coming.”

Our song…

I really like the way that sounds,

“Really? Are you sure? I know you weren’t so sure about those adjustments we made the other day…”

“No, its fine! I just needed to sleep on it! Now its fine.” He turned and smiled at me and I felt my heart skip a beat.

AJ, why do you do this to me?

I sighed and turned away.

“What is it?” he asked, concerned. I smiled slightly at the irony of it all,

“It’s nothing… really.”

“Are you sure? Because you can always talk to me. Since I’ve been here you’ve become one of my closest friends. Stop feeling so shy!” I smiled, although inside I grimaced slightly. There it was again. Friend. Somewhere along the way I had begun to want more. I wanted to be more than just his friend. But that’s all I would ever be, isn’t it?

Winter break was approaching quickly. I couldn’t believe that the first semester of my junior year was almost over. It also meant something terrible: AJ might not be in any of my classes next semester. The Music class that both of us were currently enrolled in was a one semester course, meaning that ince we returned from break we would be taking something new. Possibly not together. I quickly pushed this thought aside, inside trying to focus on the song that the two of us had to finish before the end of the semester.

“Perfection!” He cheered as we made our final touches to the music. I leaned back in content, completely happy with what we have accomplished. And with a few weeks to spare, too!

“Are we supposed to add lyrics?” I asked. He grinned slyly,

“Leave it to me.”

And so I did. Whenever I saw him he had in his headphones and a notebook, scribbling away. One day I tried to sneak up on him and see what he wrote, but he just shied away from me, telling me that it was a secret.

“When can I see?” I asked as I sat down opposite him at the table,

“When I’m ready.”

“When will you be ready?”

“I’ll tell you when I am.” I pouted at this answer and he laughed, “Aigoo~ So cute.” I blushed and leaned across the table to smack his arm. He chuckeld and went back to his writing.

“Can you at least give me a hint?” I asked after a moment of silence. He sighed and looked up at me,

“Let’s see… I’m drawing from my own experience…” I stared at him,

“That’s a lame hint. Who doesn’t?” He stuck his tongue out at me and went back to his scribbles. Suddenly he stopped,

“Has anyone ever written you a song before?” I pretended to think about it for a sec, but I knew the answer,

“No. No one’s ever written me a song I’m afraid.”

“Hmm…” He went back to his paper and I rolled my eyes.

I'm so sorry guys! I appologize profusely for my random and weird updates! This just proves that I stink at working on more than one story at once... *sigh* But this is sadly nearing its end. I envision a couple more chapters... I'll try to get them up soon, but school is crazy and I have other stories and dhshfsf. Yeah. Thanks for reading!~ XD
