TWENTIETH BIRTHDAY
When we arrived, there were already lots of people.
All are my friends.
"Saenggil chukahamnida!!!" they greeted me as I passed by.
I did not fail on thanking them and talking to them for awhile.
I always want them to feel that their presence is so appreciated.
This year, the organizers did a great job.
I'm sure KyonMin will like this.
She's so fond of beautiful interior designs.
I guess I'll spend my time first with my friends while waiting for 'Dik Ya'.
Okay. My thought made me smile.
I missed calling her 'Dik Ya'.
Every one was wearing formal clothes.
But just for the mean time.
The day is still young.
There's no doubt that when it turns night, their outfits will change into hip and fab.
The second floor is for special friends.
As much as possible, I don't want to call it V.I.P area.
Kyon Min would have probably pinched me if I did.
She doesn't want to hear the V.I.P like the others are not important.
You know what I mean?
I went to the second floor and watched the people downstairs.
I saw Ji Yong talking to Dara.
It's been years that he's a coward on talking to her but thank god he finally had the courage.
Not to mention on my birthday.
On the far side, Se7en, Teddy, SeungHyun, Kush, Ri, Dae Sung were laughing and pointing at Ji Yong's direction.
I laughed.
What kind of friends do I have?
Anyway, because of them and Kyon Min, my life had colors.
Ji Yong noticed them and whenever Dara will look to somewhere else, Ji Yong would give them a fist and the rascals at the corner would laugh their lungs out.
I scanned the area and saw Sun Ye, my childhood friend with Hyuna, Kyon Min's bestfriend.
There are lots of familiar faces.
I'm happy they're having fun.
One of the things that I like when celebrating my birthday is that I could bring all my friends together. The old and the new.

I turned to my side and saw my auntie also looking down and watching the people.
One reason why my friends are in formal at first everytime is that my relatives that did not have a chance to go to the family's lunch would occasionally drop by to greet and give their gifts.
Like today.
My auntie who failed to have lunch with us awhile ago dropped by.
"Thanks auntie" I hugged her for awhile.
She looked around, "where is your wife?"
"She'll come soon." I said.
"Oh good. I'm really fond of Kyon Min"
Heard it right.
Wife.
Kyon Min is now my wife.
It all started on my twentieth birthday.

Why did I never got used to her?
She's always late.
I sighed.
I know she'll still come no matter what but I hate it when she's late.
How could I ask for her hand in marriage if she's always out?
But I still can't do that.
The deal was, the family of the girl should be the one to set the date of the wedding.
In short, Kyon Min will decide and I have to respect that even if I'm already itching to put her in my pocket and take her home.
Kyon Min being late today is already normal.
What's strange is that there's a guy, (which I can't see the face) has been getting attention wherever he goes.
Do I know him?
I think no.
If I do, he should have greeted me since awhile ago.
I watched him from up here.
He doesn't look that special to me.
He is small, he's thin, his skin looks too soft for a guy.
But hey, his fashion sense is good.
He was wearing a black long sleeved polo that were folded up to his elbow.
It went perfect with his jeans. His pair of shoes looks so expensive.
What caught my attention was the cap he's wearing.
That's a limited edition cap!
I was gonna buy it but it was sold out.
Maybe... I could negotiate with this guy...?
I noticed that whenever he approaches a group of people, they would look wierdly at him like they don't know him and then the small guy will talk and the group of people would look closely at him and they would all get excited with shock faces (you imagine how does that look).
Like they realized something.
When the small guy notices that they're getting too much attention, he would place his index finger on his lips like 'Let's shut up and keep our secret safe'.
And the process will go on and on.
Until all the people down there knows him already.
I guess Dik Ya will not be here sooner so we proceeded to the cutting of my cake.
My friends made me sit at a stylish couch as my pals say their birthday wishes and messages for me.
"Young Bae," Ji Yong started "I know you're freakin love sick right now"
All of them made "aaw" which sounded a bit weird since we're like in a closed concert area so the sound echoed.
I rolled my eyes and laughed. "go on.go on"
"Don't be in denial about it" Ji Yong added.
So much for the embarassment.
"Okay okay. I'll stop. I wish you good health and good future with Dik Ya. And also,..."
"Please take care of our gifts. It really burned our wallets."
I made an okay sign.
"hyung, please get married soon"
I sighed. If only I could be the one to decide..
The wishing went on and on.
I was about to stand up to say my thank you's but the small guy from awhile ago stood in the front and held the mic.
'uh excuse me, for well known friends only' I wanted to say but I don't want to be rude so I'll just listen to whatever he says as I stared at his back.
Wow.
This dude is really petite.
I would have mistaken him for a girl if not only to his stylish short hair which reminded me to negotiate with him later about the cap he's wearing.
"Young Bae," he said.
His voice is... cute?
I looked at my friends.
They were mesmerized by him?
They look like they were about to laugh any moment as they watch the small guy say his messages to me.
Like... they have secrets with this guy that I don't know.
Too bad I'm facing his back
"saenggil chukahamnida" he said.
I looked again to my friends and some were already laughing, some were biting their cheeks, some were not even looking to prevent themselves from laughing.
I saw Ji Yong stifle a laugh.
I caught his eyes and I mouthed, 'what's so funny?'
He only shook his head.
The small guy continued, "I wish you good health. I wish that you still get tall"
I made a face.
If it's my friends who tell me that, it's okay but him?
I want to tap his shoulder and say, "hey dude, at least I'm still taller than you"
Some of my friends made a laughing sound.
"Please don't get mad easily when you wait for too long..."
Hey, I only get mad for awhile...
"Please eat at the right time, you make someone always worry about your health."
Dik Ya, she always shout at me when I don't eat at the right time...
"Please don't get too obssessed in working out. Abs doesn't matter..."
I laughed. I remember Dik Ya saying that to me.
"Thank you for being a good company. You never know how enjoyable it could be when you're the one to talk with."
A lot of people said that to me but never thanked me for that.
Seems that he's talking on behalf of everyone..
I guess I got touched by what he said for I was eager to hear more.
"Thank you for being worried when someone doesn't reply to your calls. 'We' feel we are cared."
Aaaww
"Thank you for being loyal. It means so much!"
Thank you for that. I feel so appreciated.
He didn't talked for awhile and when he did,
"Thank you for loving me" he turned around but I can't figure out his face, "It means everything to me"
My friends looked so touch.
Why are they reacting this way?!
I stood up to stop the guy from coming near me.
I'm not gay!!!
He suddenly knelt down and held out a box.
A guy?! Proposing to me?!?! What the--
I went to him. Ready to punch him.
I took away his cap to see his face clearly and when he looked up--
'She' was grinning at me.
"KYON MIN?!"
"Dong Young Bae~by, please marry me"
Everybody cheered.
"YEHEY!!! THAT'S MY BESTFRIEND!!"
"LOOK!! THEY LOOK LIKE IN THE PICTURES!!"
"MY WISH FOR HYUNG IS GRANTED!!!"
"PLEASE MULTIPLY SOON!!!"
I did not even see anyone gasped because of shock.
I guess this is what she's been doing awhile ago, spreading the news to keep quiet about his--her disguise.
I guess everyone also knows that she'll propose to me.
Should I describe the feeling?
Is this how the girls feel when they're too schocked about the guy's proposal to them?
The feeling is damn stange!
My head is a bit dizzy.
For thousand times I imagine our future together, I can't imagine it now.
Maybe because my imaginations will turn true soon?

My mind just went blank.
"hey, uhm, Bae, my knees hurt"
Reality pulled me back.
She was still kneeling and she had removed her wig already.
I looked into her eyes.
Is that tears on her eyes?
She thought I won't answer her because I'm imagining other stuffs?
"please answer yes" she pleaded.
I was too astounded that I just stared at her.
"Bae please?"
Her eyes turned red and she chewed her lower lip while tears started flowing out her eyes.
"hey,"
I pulled her up and hugged her tight and she hugged me back tighter.
She cried more and buried her face on my chest.
I fixed her hair so she could atleast feel fresh because she was sweating hard.
"hey, why are you crying..?" I whisphered.
Our friends were already partying about the proposal that they didn't notice Kyon Min crying which is better since she would cry even more if they notice.
She just shook her head.
"Baby it's a yes." I whisphered again.
She stopped crying, "r-really?"
"You thought your proposal is a fail?"
She nodded and buried her face again on my chest.
I rubbed the small of her back to make her feel better.
"You'll always be the one for me. No one else. Remember that. Sorry for not responing awhile ago. My mind went blank. Please stop crying...you want me to cry also?"
She shook her head and fixed herself.
When she looked up she was already smiling.
"You always make me nervous and worried" she complained while sniffing.
I laughed but it pinched my heart.
"I make you nervous?" I asked. I do know I make her worry.. but nervous?
"Yes, just like now. And when I get late in your birthdays. I make you mad and I get nervous"
I smiled, "don't think about that okay?" I said as I wipe her tears with my thumbs.
"Thank you for proposing to me. My wish is granted."
"Huh?"
"Always wishing that you decide already about the marriage"
"I love you" she suddenly said and placed the limited edition cap on my head.
I pursed my lips, could I just dive onto her right now?
No.
Her purity is much more important than my wants.
"I love you more" I said and pulled her into a kiss.
Her gift for this year: first disguise as a guy and first fight with another girl (she said) just for the last cap of the limited edition. In the end she won the fight and got the cap for me.

My phone vibrated.
A text message from my wife.
"Sorry, I'll be late for today. Please don't get worried. I'll be there before your birthday ends."
Sigh.

But when she said 'before the day ends' it could be 11 pm or even 11:59!
