Caine

What was that?

Caine..

Who said that?

"Caine"

Caine shot up, his eyes blind with panic. He swung blindly at the person standing beside his bed. The person disappeared and then reappeared on the other side of him, hands held up defensively.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Caine. It's me, Changmi. Don't kill me"

Caine blinked, finally registering what he was seeing. "Changmi?"

The girl in question waved. "Hey"

Caine dropped his face into his hands, letting out a very pathetic sounding groan. "What. The hell. Happened."

Changmi patted his shoulder sympathetically. Settling herself on the bed, near Caine's knee's. She had a look on her face like she was about to drop a bomb on him but didn't know how. "Before I tell you what happened I think you should take a look at yourself..." 

Caine dropped his hands, looking at Changmi, confused. At her urging he looked down at himself; thick leather straps hung off his torso, the ends jagged. They looked like they had been ripped from their place with an extreme amount of force. On his wrists hung what was left of handcuffs. The other halves still attached to the bed railings. His brow furrowed and he looked back up at Changmi. "Wha..?" 

"You were extremely violent so they had to sedate you and tie you down. But they didn't work, as you can see."

Caine was still confused, perhaps even more so. "How...?" 

"Dunno. Probably that stuff they injected us with."

He nodded. That seemed possible. He looked down and Changmi could tell he was turning in on himself. "But check out what I can do" she said excitedly, the grin on her face was contagious. Unless you were Caine, who was immune. He watched blankly as she stood up. "Wait right here, I'll go get you coffee from the cafeteria downstairs."

Caine blinked and she was gone, he blinked again and she was back. "How did you...?" this time he answered his own question "The orange stuff..." 

The girl nodded, the same smile still on her face. 

He accepted the coffee she handed him, putting it down without drinking any. "What about the others?"

Changmi shrugged, plopping back down on the bed. "Dunno. Miss Kim says YeJi is fine and that we'll be able to see her soon. She didn't say anything about Ryder or Hayden though." Changmi's shoulder's slumped a little as she said that and Caine reached out and gabbed her hand. "I'm sure they're fine."

She smiled up at him gratefully before jumping up and heading for the door. "I'll go see if I can find you some clothes."

Caine's lips twitched and that was about as close as he got to smiling, so Changmi was satisfied.

Yea? No? Okay! xD

Obviously something is going on, but the team has no idea what the that is. 

Some questions will be answered in the next chapter (whenever that is) such as: How is Ryder? And What the happened to Hayden?

Also, super powers. Yay. Don't you just love them? 

I guess the title makes sense now, eh? Superhuman. kekeke xD
