What Makes You Different (Libra)

Sehun greeted the next day with a bright smile, that even the people around him were mystified. It was highly unusual to see the lithp boy that happy. People couldn’t help but notice, and people couldn’t help but react. “Oh Thehun ith happy today. Found a way to thave you from the thame?” They taunted him as they laughed, but Sehun knew better than to fight back. He is looking forward to a happy day. He wouldn’t let anyone ruin the moment for him.

He was anticipating. He knew his life’s greatest mystery will be answered that day. That is why as soon as the bell rang for lunch break, he dashed to the observatory deck as everyone disappeared to the cafeteria. There was eagerness in his every step, in his every breathing.

He was excited.

Although there was no assurance, his instincts was telling him as he jogged his way to his sanctuary that he would finally be meeting the person he so wanted to meet. He wanted to meet the one who had managed to make him feel different, in a good way. Yes, those simple letters containing that one brief message had imbued in him some sense of worth which he never once found in himself. Those letters allowed him to see himself in a better light. Through those letters, he began to think that perhaps, he isn’t that bad.

His heart started to thump as he climbed the last plight of stairs leading to the deck, taking two steps at a time. The adrenaline was definitely taking him in. There was someone waiting for him there, he knew. So as he reached the final step, he pushed the door open.

And for a moment, he was blinded.

Sehun’s world stopped as his sight adapted to the brightness of light. As his vision clears, he knew his wish was granted, and he got more than that.

There she was, with her long straight hair that falls down to her waist. Her eyes were round yet the tranquility it emits was undeniable. It was twinkling, complementing the brightness of the surroundings. There was a hint of smile etched in her beautiful face. She was glowing in her beautiful flowing white dress.

“An angel,” Sehun muttered as he stopped on track. His mouth hung open as he took in the impeccable beauty of the figure in front of her. He couldn’t move as he felt like everything’s a dream; but his subconscious pushed him back to reality which he was very pleased to have encountered.

The angel then smiled. She graciously strode to where the young man was. Her beautiful hair was bouncing elegantly with her every move as the hems of her dress swayed charmingly in every blow of the serene wind. She stopped a few feet away from the boy.

“Sehun,” she said. Her voice was so soft that it sent shivers down Sehun’s spine. It’s in a good way though, because it warmed his heart as if all worries and pains were chased away.

“Who are you?” Sehun whispered, his voice giving away how beguiled he was.

The beautiful lady let out a soft chuckle, mesmerizing Sehun more. She then lifted her right hand, her fingers graciously moving, and reached out to the young man, signaling him to come closer.

As if hypnotized, Sehun took one step closer, and then another step closer, until he was an arm-length away from the angel. Then he raised his hand and clasped her hand in his; and instantly, the boy was enveloped with a surreal feeling – like there is nothing wrong; like everything is perfect. His hand then held tighter onto the beautiful lady’s, determined not to lose that wonderful feeling.

But alas, the woman pulled away – leaving Sehun feeling lost once more. “Who are you?” He asked once again as he found himself back to his senses; but this time, he was determined to receive an answer.

The divine lady motioned for the boy to sit down on the mat underneath them, as she herself propped down. Without taking his eyes off her unrealistically gorgeous face, Sehun obeyed.

“My name is Themis,” the woman spoke in a very captivating voice. “I am the goddess of justice.”
