chaptered stories- 5-6,000 words per chapter

Font: Times New Roman, Courier New, Arial

Font size: 12-16 pt

Spacing: single, 1.5, double

Margins: 1 inch

Don't also forget to indent as always your first sentence every paragraph.

why do we need to know this?

So, that your writing style is not messy. You know readers also not only focus at what the story they read but also at the writer's writing style. 

You don't want to make your readers read a messy story, right? And in my personal opinion, don't use multi-colored fonts, it makes the story

messy and you know I get dizzy with it. I got bored reading a fanfic, when it is messy. If you want different font colors, you do it every chapter. 

What do I mean? E.g. is Chapter 1- all red, Chapter 2- all pink, Chapter 3- all orange, then go back again to the first color Chapter 4- all red and 

so on. And for dialogues you may use multi-colored but please it is better if you use Bold, Italic and Underline.
