story title significance
ft. EXO
♡ How important is your story title? ♡
If judging a book by its cover is bad, what's worse is jusdging a book by its title. Your title sets the tone, hints at the genre or style of the story,
and draws the reader in! So don't underestimate titles.
♡ Tips and Advices ♡
oO1 | Make sure it is attracting. Make sure it is not all capitalize! Grammar, please!
oO2 | In using exclamation point, don't overuse it that exceed to 3.
oO3 | Make it short, unique, simple and sweet. I think 5 words is okay.
oO4 | Make sure the title is not revealing the story plot.
oO5 | Lastly, the title should play the huge part of the story.
So, I had read a blog post here indicating these "I can name my story whatever the hell I want, okay." She is complaining about the story
review rubrics that why does the Title has a big part on scoring. As what I said awhile ago, title plays a big role in every story. If it doesn't have a
title, do you think someone will view and read your story? Especially the lazy ones? No.. no.. right? Title has a big part on scoring because story
reviewers based their first impression of the story to the title. Tip no. 3, I had also read a comment that says that the thing that bothers him/her is
that majority of people here in AFF clicks on the title like " THE BADASS STUDENT AND THE NERD" . Yeah, right ?
But what can we do? Those rubbish people don't know the true meaning of titles.
But please, don't you know that a unique title has a deep meaning with it better than those simple titles. Oh-uh! Wrong word!
Those rubbish titles, no offense, please!
Don't ever use rubbish titles like that. E.g. "THE KINGKA FELL IN LOVE WITH A NERD"
Well, do you know what's wrong with these? The title just gave away the whole story. The cold kingka realizes he fell in love with the nerd.
No expectations anymore! There is nothing left for the reader to ponder. Let say yes, there is still but it is just the twist of the story on how will the
kingka fell in love and the conflicts.
Try to use unique titles like the songs, e.g. is EXO title album 'Mama'. It's so simple. It is attractive and makes us curious so where really going to
look up for the meaning and even read a really really long article just to understand what does it mean. Do you understand? A unique title has a
hidden deep meaning with it that makes us curious and expect for something. It is really something special. You will assumed that they just
actually mean 'Mama' but no, they're referring to a higher power and demanding to know why people nowadays is damn lousy.
Now you get what I mean ?
Instead of describing your whole story, pertain to a thing that has a big role in the story that can leave something for your readers to ponder.
Lastly, don't over use caps lock at titles, it looks like you're yelling to the reader. It doesn't sound nice, right? Make it nice and calm.
