A New Variety Show Host

On July 21^st, YG released another statement regarding their newest boy group on their official website. Instead of holding the promised press conference, they revealed news about the reality show that will be used to showcase their idols’ personalities and talents. This said reality show will have multiple events that will show many sides of these idols. It is further expressed that they will have to encounter many trials while learning to work together as a group to overcome whatever is put in their paths.

Moreover, the article stated that the reality show will have two MCs. The first name revealed was none other than G-Dragon of Big Bang. It was mentioned that he would be in most of the episodes as he possibly can regarding the schedule for Big Bang’s Alive Tour.

In the article, it went on to reveal the second MC’s name. It was said that this MC, or Jang Soo Jin, will make her debut as a variety, reality, and talk show host with this specific reality show. She has been training for a few years under the variety aspect of entertainment instead of aiming to be an all-round idol like most do when entering an entertainment company these past few years. Soo Jin will also be the first actual talent in YG to debut just for variety shows. It was asked of readers to anticipate Soo Jin’s appearance as an MC and support her as she is set into the world of entertainment.

They then uncovered the picture of the MC that will help G-Dragon out during the reality show for the new idol group. In the picture, one can tell that the girl has a quirky attitude with her bright make-up and bright eyes. Her facial expression gives off the impression that she is normally one who will get others into a lot of trouble.

On another part of the website, YG released an album full of a photo shoot just for Soo Jin. There, it confirms the fact that she would fit well with G-Dragon as an MC. Due to her photo shoot, the anticipation for this new show and for the idols’ debut is continuously growing.

Taeyang even tweeted “Soo Jin will probably be the best MC to debut. Her personality is really out there. It fits the MC role well.” Others in the YG-Family have backed up his tweet with other statements of their own. Seungri subtly commented about how he enjoyed her quirky presence. Even 2ne1 mentioned that they get along well because their personalities all match.

Papa YG himself expressed to reporters “I believe our Soo Jin will do perfectly well. She has worked hard these past few years, and her hard work has definitely paid off. I might not be able to focus fully on this new project myself, since I had promised 2ne1 that I would give them most of my attention, but I am highly anticipating what they are able to come up with during this show. Without a doubt, it will keep your attention, and make your love for these idols grow.”

Netizens seeing all of this commented “She’s really pretty, I really like her concept”, “Her style seems like she will be fun to host multiple variety shows. Fighting Soo Jin!”, and “Soo Jin’s expected personality and GD’s are a perfect match. They’ll be an interesting pair to watch as MCs”.
