Sohee’s POV

So, I woke up in pain on the couch… If this was any other person, they’d probably be like ‘OMG WHY DOES MY BACK HURT SO MUCH?’  But since this is me, I’m practically used to the pain. In fact, I’ve been through so much, I’m almost numb to the things as trivial as back aches. Anyway, I checked the time on my phone to see I have only 45 minutes to get ready.

! UNNIE’S GONNA KILL ME!

I ran into my bathroom to shower since it doesn’t matter about anyone seeing me . Stripping down, I noticed my bathroom looked like a pile of .

“Oversleep again?” she asked. Hmm, I seem to be oversleeping a lot lately. Nodding slightly, I pulled an apron above my head and walked into the kitchen.

“Ugh, this cake looks terrible!” I heard Amber exclaim.

“Hey Amber,” I said, trying to avert her attention for a split second.

“Oh, Sohee! Hey, you alright? You look dead,” she said, and I instantly regret talking.

“Just had a rough night, really. I’ll survive,” I smiled (albeit a fake one).

“Ok! Hey can you help me fix the cake? I can’t seem to get the décor look alright,” our llama lookalike pouted.

“Then don’t use fruit for the cake. I can tell it’s not working, seeing as though all the berries are almost finished. I say use chocolate flowers and stuff like that,” I suggested. Amber’s face instantly brightened.

“Thanks Sohee! I knew I could rely on you to help,” she exclaimed, “oh and one more thing-”

“I’ll order more berries for you before Vic unnie gets angry, chill,” I said.

The berry orders came straight away, since it was us who ordered them. If Victoria doesn’t get her orders straight away, all hell will break loose.

“Gomawo, Jo Kwon oppa!” I said ‘cheerfully’.

“Anytime, Sohee. See you next time!” Jo Kwon is the one who normally delivers us our goods. So, he knows all about Vic’s double personality. Swiftly, I picked up the crate full of punnets of berries and carried them into the kitchen.

“Hey, be careful, Sohee!” I heard Kris, Victoria unnie’s cousin, yell.

“I’ll be fine, Kris,” I muttered. He doesn’t leave me alone, it’s getting irritating.

“Ok, I’m sorry. Oh I have something to tell you!” I sighed before looking at him.

“What is it Kris?” I asked.

“I have a girlfriend! Her name’s Krystal, she’s the same age as Amber-” I cut him off.

Her name sounds familiar…

“You said what now?”

“I have a girlfriend! She’s amazing, I met her a few weeks ago but we recently started going out-”

“That’s great, Kris, I’m happy and all, but, why didn’t you bring her to meet us, seeing as though you never seem to leave me alone here?” I didn’t sound too rude, did I? As annoying as the dragon is, I really am happy for him.

“Victoria noona’s interrogating her.”

“I understand. That woman’s too strange sometimes…” Kris chuckled.

“You wanna see a pic of her?” I squeaked a little in excitement, I wanna see what she looks like, okay?

“Okay, here’s a picture of us from the other day,” he said as he handed me his awesome phone. As I looked at the phone I was absolutely positive that my face visibly paled. I know who she is.

Krystal Jung. The girl everyone else in my ‘family’ loves the most.

She’s my mother’s niece and 5 months younger than me. I admit, the is pretty and talented, which is why she always used to get the attention from everyone, especially my parents. Huh, they really did hate me… Anyway I seemed to have snapped out of a trance when Kris called my name.

“Yah, Sohee ah!”

“O-oh, yeah?”

“Are you okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” he asked.

“He he, nan gwaenchana, she just looks familiar,” I sheepishly smiled, but he frowned.

“Mwoya?” his eyebrows furrowed and I sighed.

“She’s my yeodongsaeng, Kris.” The way his eyes widened made me sigh again.

“You have a sister?”

“Ani, she’s my mother’s niece but her mom is close to my mother so we were close too.” He smiled brightly, which made me look at him funny.

“Wae gurae?”

“I don’t have to worry about you hating her!”

If only you knew, Krissy… If only you knew.

Ugh, more memories from my childhood…

FLASHBACK

So, school was over and I was staying behind with Krystal to help her prepare for her performance, this was when we were about 14 and 15 years old.

“Sohee unnie! This is hard!” she cried.

“Don’t worry, just think about something that can calm you down, you’ll be fine up there.” I smiled gently at her before yelling, “Hwaiting!”

“Sohee ah, you have to go sit in the audience, the play’s about to begin,” one of our sunbaes, Nickhun said. (AN: Yeah, I’m trying to use as many people from both SM and JYP as possible, so far, I’ve only used 2 from JYP otl)

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­The performance ended, and Krystal’s parents threw a party for the success of their daughter’s hard work. Krystal was sitting with her friends giggling and all that jazz while I was sitting with an old friend, Kyuhyun. He was muttering so many profanities at his games console; I just sat there with an amused look.

“Kyuhyun ah! Yah, GaemGyu! I swear one of these days I will break your games console,” I tried to get his attention.

“NOT MY AGI!” he yelled at me.

“I knew you’d respond to that. Why are you here if all you’re going to do is sit and play video games?”

“Because, umma would kill me if I stayed at home today to play games.”

“Yeah, that makes sense.”

“Sikkeuro!” he moaned in anger. I laughed at him.

The food was situated by Krystal and her friends, but Kyuhyun the lazy wouldn’t get up with me to get some food. Maybe it was good that he didn’t, because he wasn’t around for what happened next.

“Ugh, guys, she’s so ing annoying, I feel like slapping her!” Krystal cried. I hid behind the wall that was so conveniently by the table.

“Who is?” one of the girls asked, I think it was Jia?

“My cousin.” My eyes widened as I fought the tears from falling. Jia’s sickly laughter boomed out piercingly.

“That tramp is an embarrassment. Krystal! Why bother with her ?” the witch asked. I could feel my fists clenching and unclenching, my blood boiling.

Krystal, how could you? After everything I’ve done for you… THIS is how you think of me?

Ten minutes or so had passed since my opinion of Krystal had changed, and I was still seething in anger.

“Sohee ah! Sohee ah, where are you?”

Kyu not now…

“Sohee ah! There you are! I thought you were getting us food- oh my gosh, are you okay? You look like you’ve been betrayed or something!” he yelled.

, he blew my cover. They’ve probably heard now…

“Kyu oppa! Why didn’t you say you were here?” Jia and Sulli (another one of Krystal’s friends) said. Stupid witches think Kyu has eyes for them… (AN: I’M NOT HINTING THERE WAS EVER A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THESE TWO, SOHEECHUL FTW DUDES)

“So-Sohee unnie? What’s wrong?” Krystal  innocently asked. Glaring at her silently, the witches walked away, smirking.

I never really like her friends, to be honest.

“Kyuhyun, go home. Your sister is probably texting you as we speak.” Completely ignoring Krystal, I said bye to Kyu and stood up.

“U-unnie?” Ha, she’s still acting innocent. Time to ruin her innocence.

“How dare you!”

“Wh-”

“How dare you talk about me so wrongly! Did you think you would get away with it? Even I hadn’t have heard you right now, I would have still heard about this!” I could not believe what Krystal said next.

“All’s fair in love and war, Sohee.”

“What war?”

“Did you seriously think everyone would love you more than me?”

“Everyone treats us equally!”

“DON’T CHAT ! YOU’RE JEALOUS OF ME BECAUSE EVERYONE LOVES ME MORE.”

“So you’re attention seeking.” It wasn’t a question. I can’t believe her; after everything I’ve done. She does this?

“If anyone’s attention seeking, it’s you Sohee. You help me with my lines and all, but do you really want me to do well?”

What on Earth are you getting at?

“Krystal, you’re my baby cousin, of course I want you to do well!”

“Yeah right, you’re probably plotting my murder or something with Kyuhyun!”

“You know what? After everything I’ve done, you treat me like this? You can forget about me, because I NEVER wanna see you or your STUPID FRIENDS ever again!” And that night, I left the house, only returning when I had to visit with my parents.

Flashback end

I must have been out of it, because the next thing I know, Kris is taking me to Vic unnie’s  office.

Well… here goes nothing.

“Kris, your girlfriend is amazing!” she exclaimed. That didn’t take long (Krystal’s charm is alluring, I must admit).

“I know, noona; that’s why I asked her out!” he cried, “Oh right, Krystal, this is my friend and the best barista in our café, Sohee!” Ha ha ha, her face paled too! Looks like I’m not the only one in shock.

“It’s been long, Krystal, hasn’t it?” I said smug.

“H-hey unnie…”

We stood in silence, I was silently observing Krystal. She was shuffling on her feet, and she looked  almost just like how she did when we were 15. Almost being the key word.

“Krystal, stop moving about.”

“Sohee unnie… I- mi-mianhaeyo.” My eyes turned into saucers :/
