because you shine
Description
Hey guys! I'm back and this time with SEKAI(:
they say you are shattered
they say you are shattered
i prefer arranged
glimmering, ready for singing back
to the bottom of boots, sandals, tennis shoes
(hungry for bare feet)
a testament to last night
maybe you fell, maybe you were thrown
i can’t help thinking you jumped
now rid of that restricting label
you lay sprawled out on cool concrete
for a clear view of the stars
i know this because you shine
excited and hopeful
emptied, but no longer hollow
for now you have eternity directly above you
you have the poetry of passers by
a symphony of sirens and car horns
(composed by no one and everyone)
if only hearts broke so beautifully
-Brody Pagel
Foreword
The warm afternoon sun was filtering through the small window, leaving a square of light in the midst of the darkness of the room. The figure on the bed showed no sign of movement, even though the bedside clock read 2:00 P.M.
At exactly 2:30, the alarm in the clock rang, its shrieking audible throughout the house. The man in the bed groaned and rolled out of bed, his hair sticking up in different directions haphazardly. He took one look at the calendar and sank back into bed, burying his head in his hands.
The door opened, and another man came in.
“Are you up?”
“Do I have to be?”
“Technically yes.”
The first man was silent.
“Jongin–“
“No, Luhan. I’m going.”
“You know you don’t have to.”
Jongin rubbed his eyes.
“No. I do.”
He was getting married that day.
